Food was good, plenty of vegetables, meal was hot, I did not appreciate having to pay £1 per small pot of extra gravy, especially as we ate lat 19:00 on a Sunday, when there probably not many more diners, and when we asked for extra gravy we were not informed that there is a charge for it!, yes it may only be £1 per pot but what were they going to do with left over gravy!

Beautiful pub in the New Forest, lovely drive up through the ponies and their foals. Great outdoor space with umbrellas with views of the forest one way and their lovely garden the other. Good menu and great food.

4 guests, all ordered different starters and mains. Everything was exceptional. Highlights were the duck salad and the shepherd's pie. 10/10 would dine here again.

We arrived and were given a table..within 1 minute the waitress rushed to our table telling us you'll have to order straight away. We were only just picking the menus up..she stood grumpily expecting us to order straight away. It was rude and aggressive. We ordered just to get her to go. She didn't ask us what we wanted to drink..after 15 minutes I had to find her and ask if we could order drinks. I mentioned that we had found her earlier behaviour rude. Her supervisor apologised, properly and genuinely, saying the chef had pushed her to get the orders in. Waiting staff need to be trained in how to deal with situations and this waitress was out of her depth. She did apologise but it was too little, too late and ruined the evening.

We opted for the Supper Club menu which was great value. We ended up having only two courses as we couldn’t manage a pudding! Great food and great service - would recommend.

Lovely spur of the minute decision to eat here. Glad we did! Friendly staff and excellent food. Nice well lit restaurant with nice decor. Beer Garden is big and sits in a beautiful spot of the New forest. The Filly being an inn, has rooms to stay in. We only had dinner but would love to stay here.

Returned visit from previously where we found that visit was faultless On this occasion we felt the person who took us to our table ( a man)needed to be less rushed and his manner could have been improved On ordering wine he was very condescending to us as the customers I was still eating and she came to clear our plates , she said finished ? I said no she then walked away The restaurant at 7 pm was relatively empty and when it started to fill he sat everyone very close together in one section of the restaurant when there was space everywhere else , felt we were all sat on top of each other and no privacy to talk as you could hear everyone else’s conversation I understand this will happen if full but it clearly was not The people on the next table purchased a bottle of red wine The waitress brought the wine to the table and said “bottle of Malbec” ( I think it was ) Put it on the table and left The customer was then left to open wine themselves and pour , not great service !! The food was very good that is why we returned

The pub is beautiful, great decor and lovely service. The food wasn't great, sadly. 2 in our party had the plowmans, which was very disappointing. It says it comes with bloomer bread, which it did but 2 very thin pieces. There were 2 small slices of ham, 1/4 of a small round piece of cheese, tomatoes, pickle, and some chutney, which for the cost was not great value. We did complain and they took some money off, which was great but it ruined our lunch out as we don't like complaining but felt we had to say something.
