Firstly staff are friendly and excellent. Environment lively . Food excellent except the mash potatoes they were boring, I livened them up with the gravy but it cost an extra £2.50 for this. Calamari was exceptional, the steak pie and lemon chicken first class. Overall price for 2 people £100. A bit high for pub prices.

Very nice food , well prepared and presented. I recommend the beef and ale pie , very good! However I felt that vegetables were undercooked and a bit cold . Portion size wasn’t big which suited me , there was room for desert but if you have a big appetite may be it s worth having extra sides or a starter. I liked the location and interior as well, lovely garden area but sadly it was raining so couldn’t sit out there! There’s a great choice of wines and cocktails , I had espresso martini which was excellent! I would recommend The Filly Inn to someone looking for a good tasty quality meal in peaceful surroundings.

Filly Inn was a great spot, I haven’t been for years and as we sat enjoying the garden and our drinks we couldn’t decide if the place was now a chain restaurant. When our food arrived, it was so good we decided it had to be privately owned! We were half right on both counts, the decor and systems in place are corporate but the food is sourced locally which was a joy. Thank you we’ll be back.

Lovely, welcoming, knowledgeable and accommodating staff who make you feel really comfortable and at home. We had a lovely evening - it was a weekday so quite busy but not super noisy (apart form us maybe!) The food was exceptional as it was on my last visit.

Very nice food. As our previous experience. The overall ambiance was very poor. Every table has had dead or dying flowers on them. If you can’t have fresh don’t have them at all. The light above our table was flickering and should have been replaced before service. Our bill also had 12.5% added to it as a ‘Discretionary’ item without our knowledge. We felt obliged to agree to it. If it has not been on the bill the waitress would have received more as a tip from us.

The Sunday roast is the best in the locality by far. My wife's dietary requirements were met without question. The service was good and the meals and drinks competitively priced.

Food was slightly overpriced - a small crab burger and fries for £21.50. Service was not great despite booking a table. We arrived on time, had drinks outside in the garden and then when seated at the restaurant table we were told the table was only for an hour in total. What a rushed experience. Once we declined dessert we were informed that the bill was ready to pay! Not a great ending to a lovely weekend break in the New Forest .

Characterful pub, with warm efficient service. We had three courses and were seated in the bar error, the menu is traditional pub food, which was well cooked and well presented. We had a lovely relaxing evening.

A Truly Exceptional Weekend at The Filly Inn Our recent Friday to Sunday stay at The Filly Inn was nothing short of fantastic, and we departed feeling incredibly relaxed and well-cared for. From the moment we arrived, the entire team made us feel truly welcome, and their dedication to hospitality shone through in every detail. The rooms were wonderfully comfortable, offering a perfect haven after a day of exploring. We particularly appreciated the thoughtful touches – the luxurious products provided and the delightful fresh cookies awaiting us in our room were a lovely surprise and indicative of the Inn's attention to guest comfort. The food was, quite simply, incredible. We ended up dining at the Inn two nights in a row, a testament to the consistently delicious and expertly prepared dishes. Complementing the superb cuisine was an equally impressive wine selection, offering something for every palate. There was even live music on Sunday afternoon providing the perfect end to our weekend. While every member of the team contributed to our wonderful experience, we must extend a special mention to Martyn, Lauren, and Alex. Their professionalism, warmth, and genuine desire to ensure we had a perfect stay were evident throughout. Martyn, in particular, went above and beyond, making us feel genuinely valued guests. Despite reserving a table, we were told to just “sit wherever” when we arrived, which wasn’t ideal as a table of 7, especially when there was a couple sat on the biggest table. Service was really slow, but food was incredible.
