Fi'lia by Michael Schwartz at SLS Brickell - SBE
A meal begins with a crusty loaf, presented with olive oil and oregano snipped at the table. Rustic pizzas from the wood oven highlight beautiful produce in season in special combinations. Caesar salad is tossed tableside in a shower of shaved parmigiano from a roaming cart, with the smell of toasted garlic croutons reminding you of how satisfying and memorable the classics can be.
Cocktails are refreshingly uncomplicated and a focused wine list celebrates Italian regional varietals and American wines with an old world sensibility.

The overall experience was excellent, especially the personnel; very attentive. The food was really good, fresh ingredients, and excited menu fusions.
Great Miami spice birthday dinner. Great wing, pizza, clams, scallops!
Went for Miami Spice, the short rib pasta was amazing and tasted freshly made. The rum cake though is bread soaked in rum - it was a little confusing. The parts cotta was actually very good and much smaller which turned out to be perfect end to a heavy meal.
Very disapointed!!! The restaurant wasn’t full. However the waiter came to hour table 30 minutes after we were seated. Food is mediocre and super salty. My friend ordered a steak and they brought it already cut in small pieces (!), the pasta was overcooked... It’s overpriced for the quality. Let me make it simple to you: It’s simply a bad restaurant.
Food & service not outstanding. Pizza was good. Spaghetti w/ red sauce was very spicy, & wasn't told.
Sav. Blanc by glass was bad, sent it back.
Do NOT order the Caesar salad. You WILL get sick and smell like garlic for days.
Food was okay...the pasta was way undercooked. Poor attempt at aldente. It was sent back and took sometime to be redone, so my guests waited for me to eat their meal. Needless to say, their meal was cold by the time my food arrived. There was no apology and my re-attempted meal was now heavy on the sodium. We were not acknowledged by any member of management given the compromised experience, and again, no apology from our waiter. Likely won’t be returning or recommending.
We dined in for a business lunch during Miami Spice. We were promptly seated and greeted quickly. The tasting menu was one of the best I have tried during this promotion and the service was excellent. Will go back and would recommend
Very nice decor, great service, awesome food. Will be back soon
Delicious food. Friendly service and environment. One of our Miami favorites.
I had been here for lunch a while back and was impressed. But this dinner was amazing! We came for Miami Spice, but ended up ordering off the regular menu. Highlights included the table side prepared caesar salad. Huge portion and delicious. We shared the roasted chicken, the wood grilled yellow tail, the bruschetta and the crispy potatoes. All were hot and flavored well. Our server was courteous and attentive. Michael does such an incredible job maintaining quality of food and service. I am never disappointed.
We went for Sunday brunch, the small plates were wonderful for sharing. We absolutely loved the soft scrambled egg dish and the crispy potatoes and the short ribs. We definitely want to try the table side Ceasar Salad next time. The prices for the small plates are reasonable, but please be aware if you are not participating in the unlimited mimosas, Bellinis or Bloody Mary's the cocktails can be expensive. Our adult niece who is in the service industry picked up the tab and was shocked at the price of a Titus vodka drink, luckily I knew the price of my wine before ordering it. However, with this said, we would recommend this place and will go back. Also, this is a vibrant place so it can get loud.
I loved everything on the menu. Great drinks. Fun and vibrant atmosphere.
Fantastic service! Everything was delicious. Housemade pastas tasted excellent. Good wine and cocktail list. Original take on the caprese salad. Great housemade bread. Definitely would recommend!
Fi’lia is a lively place with delicious food and good service. We had a tableside Caesar salad and a shrimp pizza. The food was really outstanding and service attentive. The restaurant is loud but pleasant. It’s not inexpensive but good quality. There was a nice mix of people from couples to families to young groups of friends.
Huge disappointment as I’m a big fan of chef Michael’s. Poor service, food was horrible. I won’t be going back.
Food was really tasty and creative. Service was average, that is not what I would expect at a SLS property. What bothered me the most is that I intended to take advantage of the "Miami Spice Menu" that should have been available (Sunday at lunch time) according to the Miami Spice website. Supposedly the information on the website was wrong, as the Miami Spice Menu was not available, and apparently the people from the restaurant had already contacted Miami Spice asking them to correct the mistake on their website. I was not impressed by this explanation. What I expected was to be provided with the Miami Spice Menu or at least to be given a discount on my bill, which was of course higher than I had budgetted.
Service not good. Food was average.
The place itself is so beautiful. The food was super good. We had the Miami Spice menu and the price was very reasonable.
Honestly one of the worse experience I've ever had and that takes a lot for me to say. Ive been in the industry a long time and my friends always yell at me because I never complain even when its probably necessary but this time was different. We sat down quickly which was literally the only good thing that happened. The server brought us water and then we did not see him again for another 20 minutes before he comes over, almost annoyed, and gets our order. He goes to leave before we even finished ordering and I had to "yell" for him to come back. We asked for napkins that he never brought, got up and got them ourselves. Appetizers finally make it out, well before the drinks. The food was good but the entree was partially cold. It was a ragu and they put the sauce on the bottom and the plain pasta on top. Pasta naturally gets cold pretty quickly if its just exposed like that and of course taking forever so that was more of a logistical thing. We finished our meal and were eager to just be out of there and the server, which again we had to wait forever for overcharges the credit card. Doesn't apologize, again is annoyed, and gets a manager to fix it. I'm not sure if our bad experience had to do with just one bad server as this seems to a trend based on the other reviews but this was our experience and I don't plan on reliving it.
Expensive for the type of food offered. We ordered the chopped salad and chicken parm - it was just average and the chicken parm a bit salty. The octopus was very good, and the fresh catch of the day okay. The rum cake was dry.
The service was terrible, super slow. They brought us 2 times our appetizers. The place is so noice you can’t speak... food was good but not as expected from a James beard award chef
I had reserved a table for two for a business lunch, and the other guest was unable to make it at last moment. I decided to keep the reservation, and arrived on time and advised the host I would be by myself. The start of the meal went well, I was greeted pleasantly and promptly waited on. The experience began to decline with the food. Since I was alone, I decided to try the Miami Spice menu, ordering an appetizer, main, and dessert. The appetizer, four grilled wings, was great on paper, lacking in real life. While somewhat tasty, it had a strong, acrid charcoal flavor. The main course, cannellini and oyster mushrooms, was downright disappointing. The beans were mealy and overcooked, and the oyster mushrooms also had the strange, charcoal flavor (it reminded me of a grill that has not been properly cleaned). At some point, a server and a manager asked if all was okay, and I said yes, mostly attributing my disappointment to personal tastes and preferences. However, things took a turn as I was forgotten for over 20 minutes. Finally a waiter returned, and asked “if I needed anything else.” I was surprised, and politely told him I had not received my dessert. He looked surprised and ran off, soon after depositing my dessert at the table. I asked for the check. The dessert of rum cake was inedible; the “cake” was hard and dry, but the bigger problem was the whipped cream; someone must have confused salt for confectioner’s sugar; it was quite startling and unappetizing. I was late getting back to work, so decided not to bring it up. I was very taken aback, though, to see that gratuity of 18% had been automatically added to my check. I was a party of 1, on a business meal (which I had indicated on my reservation), and a major service blunder was committed right before delivering my check. My lunch last 1hr20 mins., which is unacceptable for a business lunch. Very disappointing and underwhelming for a Michael Schwartz restaurant. NOT RECOMMENDED.
Great unique dishes with phenomenal service. Everyone is extremely attentive! Every dish is cooked to perfection.
Great little restaurant for residents of Brickell to go and enjoy some creative plates. A little pricy for the size of food, but nonetheless, delicious! Had the lemon ricotta pancakes, and would have liked syrup or a little more blueberry compote to go with it, still good.
Good food and drinks. All dishes are not for everyone. Service was a little slow at first but got better eventually with backup from non service staff.
A few glaring items that could easily be addressed and shouldn't be tolerated by a Michael Schwartz restaurant: Our table was next to a white tiled wall of pots for plants. Of the 15+ pots along the wall, maybe 2 had what looked like green weeds growing in the pots. The rest of the pots were either empty or had brown dead plants or weeds. In the middle of out table was a small pot and inside was a similar brown dead weed plant. Not very attractive. We were four persons at the table. A server brought a small bread basket with THREE small slices of bread in it to the table. Seriously!? THREE small slices of bread for 4 people??? So when we pointed out the obvious issue, instead of bringing a basket full of bread we wee brought another basket with 3 small slices. Again, far below the Michael Schwartz standard. The rest of the meal was ok. Mr Schwartz needs to refocus on his restaurants as they are not what they used to be.
Fantastic brunch. Highly recommend it. The cacio e pepe is the real deal.
Servers are not properly qualified! Service is terrible!
Food was exceptional and service was great! Can’t wait to come back again.
I had been to this restaurant twice before, but this was by far my favorite visit. The service was great and the food was excellent. We had the wild mushroom pizza for an appetizer to share, and I had to force myself to stop eating as it was soooo good. I also had the fettuccine. This was awesome as well.
Terrible and arrogant service! My husband and I had a reservation for lunch. The waitress gave us the breakfast menu. When I asked about the lunch menu he just said that there was no lunch that day. We left the restaurant and no one tried to talk to us to see what happened. Minimum expected would be explain us the menu, try to offer something. Careless, not customer friendly.
Manager was scrolling through her Facebook at the hostess stand. Service was average, no personalization or interest. Food was average. Won’t be returning for breakfast.
Consistenly delicious food, great ambiance and service. Good for sharing but can also each order their own plate. Good variety of options to please everyone
Quality of food and service were exceptional. Enjoyed having dinner more that my previous experience at lunch.
The best part of the meal was our server Pablo. Very attentive and because of him we will return.
The food was so authentic and just great! Celebrated mine and my friend's birthdays. The manager gave me a complementary champagne because my cocktail took long to come out. Great customer service
The food was excellent. Service could improve they did not seem to have much experience for the level of the restaurant
I love this restaurant and usually have dinner. We live a few blocks away. I went for brunch recently and the omelette was just ok. It was greasy. Not the usual quality.
