Suggested this spot to my friends as I’ve been there a few times.
1st Guacamole came in about 20 mins bland. I told the server no need to course our food, it can come whenever it’s ready. Took about an hour to receive our mains. I was really excited for the oxtail and told my friends they should try it. When it came out, it was cold and burnt. The portion was way smaller than the last time I got it. My friend couldnt eat it due to its burnt flavour so she replaced it with the gnocchi. I was told it would be 10 mins for my main to be warmed up but it took 20. My oxtail came back somehow even smaller. My friends gnocchi was just 5 pieces of mushy dough not gnocchi. My other friend ordered a med well steak. It came out med rare with a different accompaniment than stated on the menu. She sent it back and decided she didn’t want anything else. The server said are you sure, you can order something else on the house. She decided on the burger. He still charged her for it. No manager touched the table until we asked someone who was running food if they were the manager. She said yes and we told her our issues with our experience. She didn’t seem to care, no apology or empathy but responded with, we’ll take care of a bunch on your bill. We finished our meal but of us were still hungry. They gave us each an ounce of a cocktail as a way to say sorry. My server spilled mine then offered me a tequila shot to replace it. I accepted but was still charged for it on my bill. My friend who was offered a comp meal still paid for her burger. Only one of our guests enjoyed their meal but unfortunately she couldn’t eat with us as she had finished it before our remakes arrived. It was a messy experience full of false promises. At the end, They only took $5 off our $80 bills. My suggestion to management is as soon as you hear something is wrong, touch the table. Be proactive not reactive. I’ve managed for years now & I know that management failed the restaurant in this situation.
Interesting themed place and good people but cocktails over priced and mains were very average
Food was much better than I even expected. Salmon was delicious. "Chicken finger" bites were the best chicken fingers ive had. Overly impressed with the drinks as well. They are very over the top so I worried they would be too sweet. I was wrong. They are delicious. One was a twist on a Manhattan and one was very refreshing with chai ice.
Food wasn’t consistent
My wife had to return both her app and her entrée
Really cute spot. Service was slow despite the restaurant only being half full. I can’t imagine what a busy night would be. Drinks were expensive and not very good. Food was meh at best.
Main dish was quite bland and odd pairings of flavours; long wait for meal and when finally served came cool; overpriced considering food quality but nice atmosphere, good music
We went to Figures for the first time on Valentines Day. They had a fixed 3 course menu. We found each stage of the dinner was lack luster, I did appreciate that they had a vegan option at each stage of the dinner. Between the apps, meal and dessert there was nothing that any of us "loved".
The regular menu looks good, so maybe our experience was only based on the fixed menu for the night. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the drinks, though the drinks are pricey ($16-$22) . We ended up spending $400 for the 4 of us, but felt the experience really didnt reflect the price. We left feeling a little disappointed. I would recommend abandoning the fixed menu on special occasions because we were suggested this restaurant based on the original menu.
Great atmosphere, elegant but fun. Drinks were great but pricy. Food was alright, have to go back to try more as it was a set menu, overall, great place! Do recommend!
I booked a birthday dinner for my boyfriend, party of 6. I wasn’t that impressed with the meal (I had the lamb, creme brûlée and the calamari). The lamb was very fatty and not much meat on it. Calamari was very salty. I did enjoy the creme brûlée. I don’t think it was worth the $53. I prefer the regular menu.
Horrible. Do not recommend
A sub-par dining experience at a beautiful establishment. Service was excellent but the food was simply “edible”. I did not enjoy any parts of my meal. I look forward to dining here again for the service alone; perhaps the Winterlicious menu wasn’t the best they had to offer....
A great place for an eclectic experience. Very entertaining environment. The food was good.
I would bring friends back.
Coolest cocktail bar in the city
The food was rather bland. It was disappointing for the price.
I wish their winterliscious menu offered more than just lamb, salmon or curry as a main. If they had a chicken option or even a beef one it would be a lot more enjoyable. The presentation they do for birthdays is amazing and their drinks look so cool as well! Overall this is a really nice trendy place to go to.
Our Server Emily was awesome, but unfortunately the kitchen was busy with a few large parties, so the food took a very long time to come out and our mains came out cold (steak frites) Steaks cooked perfectly but were very cold. Fries were cold as well.
They were awesome when it came to accommodating allergies. Just unfortunate the kitchen got slammed all at once and so the food delivery and temperature suffered.
Was excited to try this restaurant. We had an early reservation so had the restaurant pretty much to ourselves. 15 minutes I to our experience staff members went to a table with cash boxes and laptops and started working which really took away from the evening. The drinks were great although the dry ice hadn’t arrived yet but the server came later to bring cups of smoke which was cool for my daughter. The gnocchi was amazing the steak frites was good all the food came out a little cool.
Very different, a little strange restaurant
Very limited bad wine list
Food was ok. Fries were fantastic
Service was just ok, not great
Restaurant was tired and dirty. Needs a good cleaning
They focus too much on the comic book theme and not enough effort on the basics such as making sure the food and drink are appetizing and appealing. We did not finish eating the appetizers and told the server that they did not taste very good. We also did not finish our main courses but were not asked if they were ok or not. The food was meh and definitely not worth the price. Save your money and go somewhere else.
This is not a restaurant it should be marketed as a bar. The food was cold and the service was slow. Does not belong in Yorkville and cannot compete with anything else on the street. I would rather go across the street and for the same money.
We went at a rather early time so we ended up having the restaurant to ourselves basically, so it was incredibly intimate and we were just able to enjoy our time together. We really loved the atmosphere and cocktails a lot. The waitress was so sweet, I wish I could remember her name and give her a shout out because she was an actual angel! The food was good, however when I tell people about my experience I tend to talk about the environment and drinks more than the food. Overall, we appreciated our entire time there.
Food was fantastic and service was amazing!
Thoroughly enjoyed! Especially our cocktails. Great first experience!
Such a great little spot! Super fun and delicious! Exquisite drinks and mouthwatering food.. couldnt ask for more
Only for the novelty. Drink or two. Didn’t care for the food options as a sit down dinner
My first visit and it was a Wonderful experience will definitely visit again.
The pictures made this place look like more of a fun environment than it actually was.
The service was slow which was surprising considering there was only two tables dining *myself included*
The food selection feels rather pompous and defintely does not deliver what it tries to achieve in both the taste and presentation.
Overall, my experience was not worthwhile and I would not recommend this place.
We got there around 7:30 and were the first there, but it started filling up around 8. The food was amazing! We shared the cauliflower trio and it was definitely the highlight. I hope I can come back soon!
Interesting restaurant concept but execution falls short of expectations
My expectations were slightly disappointed. From the pictures on the website I thought the experience would have been more exciting, the service was great and the food was good. It was great to go once to see and I would recommend it.
In general, the food was very good and everything we ordered was unique and delicious. Most memorable were the poke bites, the gnocchi, the frites(!!!j, and the Poison Ivy cocktail - very fun!. The servers were all very pleasant and some of the decor was really great. Most of the tables need refinishing along with the banquet seating, but the chairs all seemed new. The place tried to be moody but parts need updating or painting so not to be so dreary. A fun place with good food that just needs a little TLC.
Recommend a friend? Depends on the friend. It's a bit oversold as a comic place. A mural and themed drinks doesn't really do it. Food was way too expensive for a family of 4 but we knew that going in so we ate ahead of time and just had desserts. We found it while looking for "fun" places to eat in Toronto, but it didn't live up to the promise. That said, wait staff was very nice.
Our server Ariel was awesome, knowledgeable, pleasant, fun and made us all feel welcome. I'm a huge geek so the ambiance was great. The food. My god.. easily the best we ate all weekend. Homemade pasta was the best I'd ever had I used to manage a restaurant. My only complaint was that the cocktails were really expensive. Over 20 bucks for one drink was kind of insane. They were tasty though, and really cool. Didn't take away from the experience. We loved it all. Highly recommended.
I've been here 4 times. It just gets better each time!
Figures has to be one of my favorite restaurants in Toronto!!! I took my boyfriend there for his birthday and the two of us could not have been happier!! From the incredible atmosphere, the giant Batman holding sparklers, to the mouth watering food, I was blown away!!
Restaurant’s theme is based on action figures, hence the name, but it felt like a let down as there weren’t much figures on displays as it is being touted (aside from the few items by the entrance). It would have been cooler to see more action figures to amped up the vibe. However, the lack of displays was easy to forget as the food was amazing. Every item on our plates were well seasoned and bursting with flavour. We ordered the salmon poke bites to start, steak frites and crispy skin salmon for entrees. We ate everything on our plates! Cocktails are on the pricey side though. Service was pretty good, they were very accommodating with simple requests. We’ll definitely come back for the food and service.
Staff and management went above and beyond for our event. Definitely will be coming back.
The restaurant was empty so our server was super attentive. The food was pretty good but the prices were way too high. The cocktails were interesting but also very pricy. The concept is really cool but it is a little dark for dining.
Loved it . Must visit. The food was so good and the host was very generous
Great atmosphere and design. Terrify service. However, the food was only okay considering the price. We had a good time overall but wouldn’t return.
