Figs by Todd English - Beacon Hill
Figs Pizza is most likely like no other pizza you’ve ever had. Don’t be surprised by the large freeform shape—its specifically part of what will go into your overall experience in enjoying this unique meal.
The crust will be so crisp and thin it will be close to brittle. That finely crisped quality is achieved by the special technique used in making the dough and a short cooking time at a very high temperature. The toppings are the finest freshest available and are, as often as possible local produce and other ingredients.
A distinctive quality of a Figs Pizza is that it will cool down quickly. If you take a pizza with you please follow the directions provided by the restaurant when heating it again at home.
Overall Fig’s was pretty average. Food (pizza) was decent even though one of us had to make a second choice because they were out of an ingredient for the first choice. The wine was good. Atmosphere is OK, patio area looked more inviting than the interior where we sat. The wait staff were inattentive disinterested and slow to take our order.
There are no words to describe the hospitality of the hostess. We came in from NY and at the time of our arrival they had to unexpectedly close. I pretty much begged and pleaded to be seated offering to Venmo our bill as their servers were down. Well let me tell you I had a fabulous meal as I have had before. The warm bacon spinach salad is a must as is their asparagus and mussels. I’m sorry I didn’t get their names but Todd English... you have exceptional staff. Please open in NY preferably near me ❤️❤️
Outstanding and inventive menu selections.
Service was excellent.
Could not more highly recommend!
Terrible service. Rude host. Would not return or recommend.
High expectations. Food was middling to average. Service was weak. Won’t race back
A very nice casual restaurant in Back Bay in a very small space. Very few tables, both low and high and also stools at the bar/pizza oven area. Seating is best for two to four people. Service is friendly. The pizza is the specialty and is top notch and worth a special trip. Spinach side was excellent as well. No iced tea for some reason. Food was up quickly but never pressed for time. Nice playlist.
The food is always great!
Fairly priced for the quality!
It’s very cozy inside. Outside is also nice depending on the weather.
The service is a bit up and down…the wait staff are excellent, but there is one very surly busgirl/runner who can be overlooked and her demeanor is inconsistent with the friendly vibe of this neighborhood gem!
Great food with a great atmosphere! We dined before a show in the theatre district and the service was prompt and we had time to stroll through the park afterwards. Highly recommend!
It was unclear if we could request outdoor seating on line but food was delicious
Great gourmet craft pizzas. Hadn't been there in a while & were hankering for the yumminess that is Figs. We always get the Bianca Pizza. Yum! Red sangria is tasty also. Eggplant sliders were a pleasant surprise.
Did not meet our food expectations. Great location, service was good.
May have been better years ago. Unfortunately, no longer on top of their game.
Excellent lunch with our family. Great appetizer, salads, and pizzas. Look forward to returning again.
The food was great although they were limited on what they were offering IE: beer and wine only. I would definitely go back as the outdoor dining looked fun.
Good food and great people watching. Go earlier in the day to avoid wait time!
We were really excited about these pizzas, and ordered the fig and prosciutto and the chicken sausage pizzas. We thought the first would have fresh figs but it was like fig jam. The other had a sweet creamy sauce poured in n top - totally unnecessary. Service was terrific though. I guess we should have read the menu more carefully. We were also seated inches from next table. Still a little nervous about being so close to strangers!
We sat outside here and enjoyed every minute! The food was great, the service was great, and we didn’t feel rushed. Highly recommend.
Love Figs!! Come here all the time for the amazing appetizers, pizza and ambiance!! Service was great too
Haven’t been back in many years and our experience did not disappoint! Food was as good as always and very attentive staff. Great outdoor patio now! Wish we could get there more often!!
We went this past Monday night and the pizza oven was getting fixed. We were told that the oven would be ready soon and our pizza would be out in 40 minutes. Not a problem, until an 1hr and 30 minutes later still no pizza. We asked repeatedly and were told that the pizza was on its way. In the meantime, no one checked on us to see if we wanted anything else. Additionally, I reached out to Figs to let them know about our experience and no one responded to me. Not sure about going back for another expensive, mediocre experience.
Excellent food and service
Delicious as always
Their pizza oven was broken and their pasta was not that good.
I was disappointed that their pizza oven was broken during my visit, but the staff was friendly and they called me ahead of time to notify me. I still wanted to try Figs, and got a pasta dish instead which was pretty good. Interior of the restaurant was not as "nice" as I was expecting. Overall had a good experience.
No pizzas because the oven wasnt working! And the place/ambient is dull.... had better expectations, also they didnt have white sangria
Very accommodating service, food is always delicious, wine choices limited but strong.
Chicken sliders were overdone, burnt actually. I have historically loved the pizza but it wasn’t the same as I remembered. I asked the waiter and he said they were having an issue with their pizza oven. Might have been nice to know that before we ordered.
I won’t go back. Too many better options.
Food was good. Wrong pizza was delivered, but tasty nonetheless.
Figs was closed and no one let us know. We were celebrating a birthday, so it would’ve been nice to know, especially cause our reservation was for 8pm.
I was making a trip back home to see my family who I haven’t seen in 2 years due to covid. I made a reservation at Figs months in advance (because my dad loves pizza) and were talking about how excited we were for it. In the pouring rain my dad and I took an Uber and show up to run in the front door of Figs to one lone construction man, restaurant completely closed, telling us they are replacing the oven. When I said I had a reservation at this time he looked beyond perplexed. Given a popular graduation weekend and the terrible weather we weren’t left with many choices to make a plan B. I can’t speak to the food since we didn’t get to try it but I was extremely frustrated that no one at least canceled the reservation or contacted me about it. The worst part is that I got a “seating confirmation” email from Figs a few days later....
Restaurant was closed
Our first time @ Figs and we were completely impressed, although we had already expected to be dazzled by the gourmet pizza...but the servers & just overall buzz of the place was impressive! Our reservation was @8pm, we walked in right ontime and could see our table waiting, amidst the Covid regulations, which was the perfect start to my birthday dinner I enjoyed with my wife.
We went in and were promptly seated. When my wife went to the bathroom she said the bathroom was disgusting. On her way back to the table she noticed the kitchen was disgusting. There was trash overflowing from the barrel and it was so dirty. So I went to the bathroom myself and when I got to the men’s room I had to wait. While I was waiting I had the chance to look at the kitchen and it was as she described it. Someone was in the bathroom and that someone was a female waitress in the men’s room. There was no paper towels in the bathroom just a hand dryer. When the waitress came out I realized that I didn’t hear the hand dryer running so I figured that the waitress did not wash her hands. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone.
The service was impeccable and the food is always delicious. Love the Brussels sprouts and the Greek salad was delicious. Daughter had the chicken Parmesan and I enjoyed a few bites of hers. Highly recommend!
Best calamari and awesome pizza!!
Great staff and food, really enjoyed the Pizza and wine selection
This was our first dinner for Spring Break in Boston with the kids and it did not disappoint. With a family of 6, it can be hard to find something that makes everyone happy, but this place was it!
Todd English still has the touch. This place has excellent chow. The brread and olive oil they bring to the table is the same as my first visit to Olives over 40 years ago... magic!
To start, we shared the Old School Tuscan Bolognese (Tagliatelle, Fontina Burro Fusso, Veal Beef and Pork Bolognese Sauce, Parmesan)... rich, creamy, fantastic! For pizza we had the Bronx Bomber (Pepperoni, Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella, Fresh Basil)... perfectly cooked, excellent.
They practiced good Covid table spacing... service from Valentina L. was terrific... laid back, friendly and efficient.
We love Figs!
One of the best restaurants in Boston. Very quaint in Beacon Hill and delicious food every time.
