Figs by Todd English - Beacon Hill
Figs Pizza is most likely like no other pizza you’ve ever had. Don’t be surprised by the large freeform shape—its specifically part of what will go into your overall experience in enjoying this unique meal.
The crust will be so crisp and thin it will be close to brittle. That finely crisped quality is achieved by the special technique used in making the dough and a short cooking time at a very high temperature. The toppings are the finest freshest available and are, as often as possible local produce and other ingredients.
A distinctive quality of a Figs Pizza is that it will cool down quickly. If you take a pizza with you please follow the directions provided by the restaurant when heating it again at home.
Figs on Beacon Hill has great food, especially pizza, and a nice cozy atmosphere with views of Charles Street. The selection of pizza is more than adequate and if you wish to vary up your pizza to include two selections, that is not a problem. One pizza is plenty big enough to share! Unfortunately Figs on Beacon Hill is a little too intimate (crowded) and noisy at times and it is difficult to carry on conversations. Also, the wait staff seems to be covering too many tables at once so service can be slow. If you’re not in a hurry, it is worth the wait. Given it’s limited size, however, I recommend you make a reservation.
Delicious mussels and pizza. I could have made a meal from the bread and olive oil.
Simply perfect. The service superfast!!!
We booked a table for 2 at 7pm last night, having received glowing recommendations for this restaurant so we were excited to try it. We arrived at 6.55pm to be told by a very unfriendly hostess that there would be a 15 minute wait for a table, or we could sit at the bar. We chose to wait for a table, since we had pre-booked it. There was no space to wait inside the restaurant but luckily it was a nice evening so we sat on the bench outside. After 20mins we went in to check on the table to be told she would come get us when it was ready. Eventually at 7.30 (just as we were searching for alternative restaurants in the area) the hostess banged on the window to tell us our table was ready. We felt this was very rude since we had waited so long, the least she could have done was come outside to get us. Anyway, we eventually were seated and had to wait another 5-10mins for menus. We ordered a pizza to share and a side of fries. The fries came out by themselves after about 20mins but we waited 40mins total for the pizza (it eventually came out at 8.20pm). At this point we were starving. We made our feelings known to our server, who to be fair was a lovely friendly lady and quite frankly the only reason for the service getting any star. She apologized to us and arranged for us to have half off the pizza for the wait.
The food was delicious, when it eventually did arrive.
It was super busy for a Tuesday night and as a result was very loud, we could hardly hear each other.
The restrooms are quite grubby and are in stark contrast to the rest of the restaurant.
The hostess' poor manners and the delay in being seated & receiving our food really let this restaurant down for us and we will not be returning, nor will we recommend it to anyone else.
Awesome place, great pizza, noise level a little high
Huuuge pizzas, luckily the lovely waiter stopped us ordering one each! One between 3 would have bern more than enough. Calamari pizza was unusual... I wouldn’t have it again. Asparagus fries starter was to die for.
Nice meal and drinks but it would be more appreciated if I could choose multiple sizes for pizzas such as Small, Medium, and Large.
Best pizza I’ve had. A little loud when the restaurant is full. And it usually is.
I know it is a hot day today, but the temperature inside was unbearable, way too hot. I asked for the manager, wanted to suggest a small fan to provide some air. The manager was not available. Overall great food, but you can only enjoy your food if you can seat comfortably inside the restaurant. A small fan at the end of the hallway would greatly improve the air quality and keep your customers happy. This is the managers job to recognize that and react.
Loved the place and the food . The noice level was pretty bad, I almost couldn’t talk to my mom or hear her. The pizza was delicious.
We got 1/2 pizza - half fig and prosciutto, the other half Red Sox. Both delicious! There is only one size offered. My husband and I had one slice of each at the restaurant plenty for dinner. We took the rest home and had another terrific meal the next day, so great value for two meals for two people.
Very nice little restaurant in a lovely neighborhood
Small place, very intimate, not many tables, best to get a reservation I think
Very good pizzas, 1 is enough for 2... or 3 so that the meal can be quite affordable !
The pizza was delicious. We had 1/2 fig and prosciutto and 1/2 Oliver. The service was fine. The lack of any sound absorption was unpleasant. Regardless, I would recommend based on the food.
Get the fig and prosciutto pizza. It's genius. And the sangria is really good too
One of my favorite restaurants in Boston. Incredible pizza and classic Beacon Hill atmosphere - small and quaint, but delicious food. The Red Sox pizza is my favorite but I always do a half and half pizza to get even more flavors.
Figs was awesome! We had the Fig & Prosciutto pizza which was AMAZING!! I wouldn’t really recommend this place for a first date as its incredibly noisy. We are glad we had reservations as the Beacon Hill location was small and very busy.
A very busy place (not very big). Good, friendly service. The pizza and salads were outstanding - pizza with fig jam, gorgonzola and prosciutto. Yum! Big salads - I had the beet and it was delicious.
You have to try the pizzas with basil oil
Had a reservation but still waited 45 minutes for a table. Am 8 months pregnant and would have really appreciated if they had just said no reservations were available rather than giving me one and making me stand and wait that long.
Always the best pizza in Boston! Plus really lovely salads and pastas.
Good food, friendly staff, except at the end of the meal it felt rushes, got a tab before we even asked, without giving a chance to order anything else after the meal.
Good pizza but hard to sit comfortably on high stools, extremely noisy music (hard to talk), and close to other diners.
Great food & location!
The food was outstanding. The service was great. The space was a bit crowded and loud.
We always love coming here when we remember it. Thrilled that it now accepts reservations. That will help us return more often. The food is good 9 out of 10 times but always the Fig and prosciutto Pizza. It is miserable waiting for someone to bring your check so you can leave, so just expect that wait.
Food was wonderful! Service friendly and prompt. Lively atmosphere. Would recommend.
Very cute place. Great food! Very good and friendly wait staff! It was just too noisy for conversation but we made it through dinner. :-)
Had not had a figs pizza in years and was extremely disappointed....imprinted in my mind and taste buds was my first figs pizza in Chestnut hill alas that spot is gone so we went hunting for the pizza with fresh figs, fresh arugula, b
Procuitto Gorgonzola dolce and a balsamic drizzle on an impossibly thin fresh crust...NG
Dry, with fog jam nothing fresh about it was grossly disappointed
Met a friend for dinner at this Beacon Hill restaurant. We had chicken sausage pizza. I ordered beet salad as well and friend had spinach soup. We enjoyed the good though we had hoped the chicken sausage would have more of a kick. The pizza crust was thin and flavorful. Service was attentive initially but became non-existent as restaurant became full. Noise became an issue as friend and I are soft-spoken and had issues hearing each other. We also waited a long time for bill. I did enjoy offerings but would choose to come earlier before rush. Tight quarters. Be prepared to be almost shoulder-to-shoulder to your neighbor.
The pizzas are all amazing especially prosciutto, mussels are my favorite to start. The area is very small and feels quite cramped and the noise level can get too loud easily and waiters or customers occasionally bump into you or your table on the way out. Great value for the high quality of the food. On busy nights the servers may get a little busy and do not pay as much attention to you as could be expected. Over all great consistent spot for casual dinner with close friends or a date.
It was impossible to hold a decent conversation due to the sheer noise in the restaurant. Additionally, the pizzas were very oily and made our party of 4 feel bloated the entire night, despite leaving half of the food uneaten...
Figs is my go to place when I have friends in town! I love taking guests to charming Beacon Hill and Figs is the perfect neighborhood spot for consistently delicious food! I eat here often and have never been disappointed!!!
It’s a great place qith oncredible food (really like the Pizza)!
understaffed, service overstretched. stressful experience for a casual Sunday lunch. look elsewhere, the city has many other options for good pizza/flatbreads without the hassle.
Salad, pizza, wine--very enjoyable experience.
Zona ottima.
The good was delicious. The service was not great, and it was incredibly loud.
This was our first visit to Figs in Beacon Hill. The food was great with one exception. We ordered the chicken parm sliders and while mine was delicious, my husband’s chicken was completely uncooked in the middle. The waiter was apologetic and they brought out a new sandwich to replace it but I was kind of shocked when they still charged us for the sliders. Had my husband not noticed how raw his chicken was, he could have been very ill and it seemed inappropriate to charge us for that. Other than that, it was a pretty good dining experience.
Resto trop petit. Tables et banc inconfortables.
Because of the marathon weekend it was very busy, there were a lot of people lining up and waiting for a table/takeout. They still handled everything great, the food (both pizza and pasta) was amazing and fast, would definitely recommend.
