FIG & OLIVE Westchester Ratings and Reviews
My ex-wife told me to try Fig & Olive. It was a wonderful surprise. We went for Brunch and had the Prix Fixe 3-course meal. Plus I had to have a flatbread appy. My woman friend had the crouton mushroom thingys, while I had a salad. We both had the French Omelette. Then the 2 separate desserts. Everything was excellent. Waite staff is extremely friendly. I will be back soon.
This restaurant is lovely. The food was really good. The service, a bit slow, but it was a crowded Saturday night. The food was good and different. Prices are high but it is a fancy restaurant. Salmon was a very small portion, and a bit dry. The tagine was excellent for a cold night--spicy and delicious. The crostini are what they are famous for and they are good. Pumpkin dessert left a film on our mouths. Not a great idea to put squash chunks under slimy pumpkin ice cream and call it good.
This spot is an excellent choice for a special occasion , the staff are always welcoming and smiling (that is a big plus for me ) . they are super friendly and they care about your dining experience. I have a food allergy and I usually take longer then the average diner searching over menu to be sure their isn't something In dish I can't have . I Placed my order with the very patience waiter and WHEN HE BROUGHT MY FOOD I apologized for taking so long WITH MY ORDER and said IM ALLERGIC TO APRICOTS so I was reading everything he quickly scooped up my food he just put on table and said oh no you can't have this then it has apricots in the sauce .. I was so grateful that he knew there were apricots in it ..I didn't see it on menu and that could have been one scary dinner date .SO THAT SAYS TO ME THEY ARE A GREAT PLACE WHO REALLY CARE ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO DINE THERE.. YOU HAVE A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE THANK YOU
Dinner for 5 took nearly 2 1/2 hours. One of the worst service performances ever and marred a very special dining occasion. Had been there once prior and thought it would be the perfect place for that dinner. Not only was the service horrible but the wait staff was not even apologetic. Did not even offer coffee or a dessert for the table. Completely oblivious. Perhaps it was an off night but we'll never know.
As soon as we arrived our table was waiting. Granted it had snowed that morning and not many patrons were out. The place is big and they keep the music at a nice volume. You hear the music and you can carry a normal conversation. Started with a bottle of Valserrano Tempranillo 2013. It only took 15 mins for the flavor and smoothness to open up. It is a good drinker. The place has a nice dimmer lighting and was quite comfortable. Our server was a big guy and he received us quite nicely. There were a few patrons because it was so cold outside.
If you come here, the special is the crostini. Had 3 of them, the shrimp, burrata and the prosciutto. The prosciutto was the best one. They have another 6 more varieties but we were ready for our meal. Ordered the bronzino which was divine. It had the perfect crispy and favoring. It was on a bed of snow peas and a drizzle of aged balsamic vinegar. The other plate we had was the truffle rissoto. Quite nice and actually matched with the bronzino. We were too full for any dessert. The only disappointing part was our waiter disappeared and left the restaurant withoitbsaying goodbye. We had another waitress come check on us but it was not the same attention. Even then I still left him a nice tip to show our appreciation for his initial service. The place has many side doors so I can imagine this place in the summer time. Worth a visit.
Enjoyed the fried calamari and Fig & Olive salad. The bread with the olive oils is a great touch.
We loved the Raspberry Mojito and the Fig & Olive cocktail.
Our entrees....the branzino was overcooked in my opinion - looked nearly burnt. Definitely not satisfied-the potatoes which accompanied it were flavorful. The salmon wasn't memorable.
For dessert we had the Olive Oil Cake which was delicious.
Came here to celebrate my birthday after hearing such great things about it. Everything i was told was true. The food was amazing, the service was great - staff was very attentive. The vibe felt very comforting and trendy. I was also surprised with dessert after notifying the staff of my birthday celebration. It was an amazing night, thank you Fig & Olive.
I enjoyed chatting with my friend over lunch. The waiter seemed to be overbooked since the restaurant was packed at lunchtime. The service seemed slow for ordering, but good for refilling our water glasses and bringing over the breads and olive oil to taste.
