“FIG & OLIVE Kitchen and Tasting Bar, leaves no doubt about its Mediterranean loyalties. The chalk-white stucco walls evoke the region, and the menu is dominated by dishes prepared with olive oil” (New York Times April 2005)
We have selected wonderful wines from the South of France, Spain and Italy to accompany your culinary journey around the Mediterranean region. Twenty six wines are served by the glass so you can travel from the Provence, to the Tuscan and to the Rioja regions.
Usually we eat at the location on 52nd street where they bring bread before the meal. No bread offered here which was sad! Aside from that service was good and portions large as normal.
Overpriced for the quality of food but cute restaurant for date
Service is terrific and its a great place for lunch. Perfect menu
Crostinis were delish!
Beautiful, the crostini’s are still a delight for the mouth.
Amazing food! Beautiful setting and quiet.
We had to ask the waiter for bread at least 4 times which is unacceptable!
Hard to converse due to noise level but food fabulous as always. Server very attentive but did not feel rushed.
I could never give a 4-star review to a restaurant or a server where I had to request a refill on coffee, especially in a brunch situation. The server was very pleasant and knowledgeable. The menu is unusual, which makes it interesting, almost exciting. Food was good, but nothing special. We had a pleasant meal ... if only we hadn't had to flag down the server to get that refill on coffee. In their defense, although it was practically empty when we arrived, it was very busy by the time we received out main course.
My friend came in from out of town and we wanted good food and lovely atmosphere. Here we got both and couldn’t have been more pleased.
Thank you to Sabrina and her staff who seamlessly emptied plates, brought plates, took wine glasses out that needed to be refilled and brought them back with ninja-like speed. We never even noticed that things were happening around us. Crostinis on raw zucchini were incredible, as was the octopus carpaccio, cauliflower and hamachi crudo. Wonderful all around experience.
Service was spotty at the best. The blondie man behind the bar took the order eventually and we were pretty full with his attitude by then. Forget about checking in to see if all is OK, he was plenty busy chatting with the hostess most of the time. Salad with chicken, I strongly believe they relieved an aged piece from a bag of Purdue chicken, dried to the texture/tissue and salad is drenched with creamy dressing that weighed down any sense of freshness.
Every time I thought of gicing this joint another shot, they were more eager than usual to disappoint.
Sadly the management team was not at it's best during this dining experience. My party left rather abruptly after we were asked my management rather rudely to move our coats, hats, scarves, gloves and mobility devices with no offer of an alternative place to put them. Not likely to eat here again. To make matters worst the food was not that impressive for the price.
I got here fairly often. The hamachi is wonderful! The beets in the salad were not in great shape, but everything else was good.
The crostinis are the best - a neighborhood gem which never disappoints. Refills on ice tea would have brought higher score.
This was a bad night. The tall blonde waiter was too involved in posing than listening to our requests, so for that reason a glass of wine ordered at the beginning of the meal was never delivered. The octopus appetizer was supposed to be scorched and crispy charred but it was not. And to add to the dismay, I forgot to tell the waiter “low sodium” so this dish was drenched in salt. The carrot/ginger soup was filled with slices of ginger that were inedible and it was poured into a cold dish so it likewise lost its heat quickly. While we have eaten here many times and overall enjoyed the experience, this was an off day that makes me want to write that I will not be back.
A great little find, with really tasty food and GREAT service from our wonderful waitress. Would go back in a heartbeat!
Once again, Fig and Olive has proved itself a wonder choice of restaurant to go to in this neighborhood. The food is excellent. I particularly love the crostini choices and results. My companion, a fist timer, was greatly impressed.
Requested table was not available. While I understand that such requests are not guaranteed but there were many empty tables elsewhere and not all seated at window requested it in advance as I had done. Disappointed. Will still dine there as I appreciate your food
Fab food. Lovely staff and quaint place for an intimate gathering.
Fig & Olive has been a go to restaurant for my wife and I when attending theater in the area. We have aways had a favorable reaction to the food, drink, and atmosphere.
The restaurant isn’t handicap accessible. My dad uses a walker and they did not want the restaurant to have walker inside. Additionally, there are narrow steep steps to use a bathroom, so he was unable to use the bathroom. On top of that, he’s diabetic and we waited over 45 minutes for our food.
Love the menu and the food. The staff was very accommodating for my friend's dietary restrictions. The F&O salad had fewer goodies in it than when I last had it at another location. While the atmosphere (and acoustics) is energetic, we were seated towards the back where it is a bit more quiet. Sorry that the olive oils from around the world were mostly replaced with infused ones. I would have bought a few more bottles if the Tunisian, Greek and other varieties were offered and available. The balsamic is still the best anywhere!
Great service and food !
I have always enjoyed my meals here and at the other Fig & Olive restaurants. Love the meal choices, atmosphere and service.
always..... healthy stylish and value/ gd locations..................
Food was simply awful. Waitress was both nice and attentive. We felt ripped off. Simply stated, Lousy food. Skip this place.
Our server, Haley was attentive, sweet and accommodating.
This location needs a deep cleaning. The cushions on the banquette were filthy. One was turned so zipper faced out which made me wonder what they were hiding. There were cobwebs and stains above us. The spaces underneath the high tables were filthy too. I was really bummed. I stopped drinking water because I was afraid of what the bathroom would look like. Regarding the food, the added salmon for my salad was literally the size of a brownie. I've never seen anything like it.
Visiting from CA, the meal was perfect. Crostini is a must and I had the lamb chops. Best ever lamb chops!!
Food was very oily. Everything has truffle oil in excess.
This was the first time that I was disappointed. We waited for a long time for our food. People who came after us were served before us. The bread basket did not comply with the description on the menu. I asked for one poached egg only, but still got two. The sangria had no peach.
It just seemed that the staff was overwhelmed. So I was not impressed, but I'll come back.
This was my least favorite location. Couldn’t tell who our server was and felt uncomfortable asking for anything!
Delicious food, the small and friendly service does work hard to please. We will be back
Thank goodness the restaurant is back to its wonderful dining experience.
People visiting from London. Wanted Mediterranean food. Good food. A little too noisy
Food and wine excellent. Extremely cordial and efficient service.
This place is always crowded, but we like it, because the ambiance is fun.
Salads are very good, roasted cauliflower is the best, we this time try the paella, excellent. Crostini’s amazing. Good selection of wine.
This place is a good example of style over substance. Server was very blase, more interested in chatting with his friend at the bar than paying attention to customers. The chicken looked beautiful on the plate, but didn't have much flavor. The restaurant was pretty empty so I guess they tried to amp the atmosphere by turning up the house music. Prices are higher than most for what you get.
Food was amazing. The atmosphere quiet and sophisticated. The staff amazing friendly and attentive.
About as good as it gets.
