Setting, service and food were great! We went for lunch during Newport Beach Restaurant Week, so value was good ( my lunch would have cost double had it not been a "restaurant week special").

Place was over booked. The hostess was distracted and rather unkind. The waitress was nice, but not attentive. The food was luke warm, dry and not appealing.

Service was poor. Food came out wrong, twice. Had to ask multiple times for food to be brought back correctly. Ended up ask multiple times for soda water to be refilled, still waiting for the last refill requested. Manager comp’d some of the bill. We will try it again, but this was a really disappointing birthday dinner.

Our first time experience and it's great overall. One thing I didn't enjoy was sitting on the long bench. When people of a nearby table moved, I was affected, not a pleasant feeling. The food was great though. I liked the bread dipping in 3 flavor olive oils, the sea bass and the grass fed beef.

My guest and I enjoyed another good meal here, was glad to see the Newport Beach Restaurant Week menu in place, though we both had different menus,(I am guessing one was lunch and the other dinner). We figured it out and found other selections. I will be back.

Very pleasant ambiance but music was inappropriate for this class of restaurant. The driving beat was not conducive to relaxation and enjoying a fine dinning experience. The service was very good and the food well prepared and artistically presented. The prices are very high. A $14 glass of wine that retails for $9.99 a bottle is absolute gauging. Will I go back? No! There are far too many restaurants in the area that serve excellent food & wine at much fairer prices.

Food was reliably excellent (chicken tagine, shrimp salad, wait staff recommended crostini’s, the bread that accompanied the olive oil trio was wonderful) Hostess and wait staff were excellent. Hostess was lovely & welcoming, server Vanessa (and busboy Mario) was excellent - extending warmth, efficiency and graciousness to ensure an excellent experience.

First time dining there. Friends loved it. I loved it! Fabulous food, great service. All staff were so friendly and professional.
Highly recomend the bruschetta! I can still taste the many flavors.

It was the first time I had been to Fig & Olive and took my wife there for her Birthday. The ambience was fantastic and the appetizers and dinner was top notch. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

Our waitress was so adorable and gave fun suggestions to our order and was very attentive. Only complaint was the heater above us wasn’t working, haha. All in all it was a fantastic meal and experience as usual

We had a late dinner & stayed way past the closing time. We never felt rushed, service was terrific & our waitress described the menu & how dishes were prepared in a very competent manner. Food was delicious - we will definitely return.

This is a great place with a wonderful ambience, great service and very tasty food. The only part where you may come back unsatisfied is the portion sizes. As a group we went back unsatisfied from a brunch, which I believe is too small.

The unadvertised limited menu was disappointing; I wouldn’t have come had I known the options were limited. The service was mediocre although there were only 3 tables in our waitresses section; 30 minutes to receive each drink. Prime example of why people complain about going out on a holiday. Wasn’t terrible, just disappointing.

Normally we love this place, but tonight’s experience was less than stellar. Food was good, but the service was terrible!!

First off, my girlfriend does not like truffle so we asked if it was possible to get the mushroom truffle crostini without the truffle oil on top. He kept saying it’s not that bad, so we had to reiterate she doesn’t like truffle and almost said never mind to the order. He finally acquiesced and said he could do it. Why do we have to persuade him? He was kind of rude about it too.

We also asked if we can get them cut in half. Just a question, and we wouldn’t have minded if they couldn’t as they were pretty busy (we always ask and 2 out of 3 times they do). He said it’s not that hard and grabbed my cutlery and cut up all the crostini in front of us saying “See? Not that hard”, while mashing them all up. Rude.

Next, the server got our order wrong three times. He tried to argue we ordered it, which we absolutely did not. In fact, we commented on how much we DIDN’T want what we got served twice when we were deciding what to order.

When my dish came out, it was cold. My steak came out cold. COLD. To boot, my actual plate was super hot. Made no sense. Couldn’t find my server so another server came by and helped us out. And then our original server came by and commented “the filet was good huh?” And walked away before I could respond to him... probably thought I finished it already.

When cleaning up the plates, he almost spilled oil on me and just stared at the puddle he made under where my arm was a second ago, before shrugging and walking away. He came back and wiped it away with a napkin a few minutes later without saying a word.

He never once apologized or tried to make things better in any way. We were hoping that an establishment like fig and olive would have higher standards than this—very disappointed in our last meal of the decade.

P.S. I believe his name was Eddie.

My wife and I have eaten here at this restaurant before and enjoyed each and every experience. The food was well prepared especially the pork loin. The Himachi Crudo was quite good. I would recommend this place to those who like to try different foods at reasonable prices. This is a great place to take a date or celebrate a special occasion,

Met my dear friend for a holiday brunch on Sunday 12/29 and had a wonderful time. The restaurant was gorgeously decorated and our server was absolutely amazing! The hostess was the only unfriendly person at your restaurant. We arrived a little before our 11am reservation time and she never smiled, only telling us the restaurant wasn’t opened yet. Other than that initial experience the rest of the staff, food, ambiance, live music was outstanding. I live in the Bay Area but visit OC often (family lives there) so I will be back again! Thank you!

We dined last weekend and while I have eaten at Fig and Olive once before in AZ, my girlfriend had never had the experience. The ambiance and decor and seating arrangements were great. We were seated in a near corner and appreciated the intimacy and comfort. The server(s) were nice enough, but we were underwhelmed with the attentiveness and speed of service specifically for taking the initial order and the payment stage of the evening.

The food was above average and more than likely we will return to a Fig and Olive in the future.
