FIG & OLIVE Newport Beach

Food was great as well as service!
I would 100% recommend Fig not too loud to where you can't have a conversation or so quiet that it felt stuffy. We enjoyed the food as well but felt that it was little pricey for what we were getting.
Liked the mushroom pasta dish better with regular spaghetti than with rigatoni!
This was another wonderful evening at Fig & Olive. We always start with the six-order crostinis to get a good sampling, plus a cocktail (I had the Mediterranean Mule). Then we split the F&O dinner salad (the bowl it comes in is huge and easily accommodates two people with multiple servings). My entrée was the Tuna Provençal, which was delicious. For dessert, we shared green apple and orange sorbets. We received attentive and friendly service throughout. It's always a pleasure to be here.
Absolutely fantastic. A must for a great meal & dining experience
Very enjoyable every time I dine here!
Food was horrible, wound up charging us for none of the food..... everything was vile !!!!
Great service. Excellent food.
Wonderful experience at Fig and Olive
Our server Shari was wonderful and very helpful
Great oils for tasting again - we fell in love with Arbequina again
Lovely heirloom tomato melon burrata appetizer
Tasty sea bass
Food wasn’t as expected.
Won’t go back.
Luxury brunch - worth a splurge
Great Brunch and live music
Great experience and we took our three year old. The very nice busser that was serving water and clearing the table went out of her way to make our three year comfortable and taken care of immediately. She was amazing and we will be back. Love the table that are half booth and half chairs. Very cozy and enjoyable ambiance. Can’t wait to go back. Something about the vanilla ice cream is crazy, it’s better than any old vanilla ice cream. Everyone loved the roasted chicken meals.
Great dining experience. Always enjoy coming here for the food and always great service. If you want a relaxing and enjoyable experience this is the place to be. Try it you will like it!
Great food as always. Service was a little off today as our server was overloaded with tables. Outdoor seating for brunch was beautiful.
Amazing service and incredible food!
We were seated right away and our service was prompt but not rushed. Everything was delightful and food was very tasty, the perfect place for a special occasion!
The food and the ambiance was great, however did not receive my 1000 points from Open Table. Very disappointed
An okay place.
Really great food and service. Can be a bit pricey but worth special occasions.
I have been to F&O in DC and in Chicago multiple times. The food did not meet the same quality as the other places.
However the ambiance was amazing. Place looks great. Seating and layout and everything was perfect.
The chef's selection flat bread was subpar. The pea risotto was over peppered, a little mushy, and the scallops were a bit gritty. Definitely not the norm for this establishment. I hope this isn't a sign of a decline.
The waiter brought out a martini to our table which we didn't order....he left it for us to enjoy but it was a business lunch so kind of awkward. The time for our food delivery was 30 -45 minutes. Our client ordered the Paella but the waiter heard Paillard so he had to go back to the kitchen, which took another 10-15 minutes. He tried to make amends by offering a dessert in the interim but the client decided just to wait for the meal.
After eating our meals, the waiter brought the check. By that time we had decided to go ahead and take him up on the dessert so he pulled the check back and said "no problem, I'll add the dessert to the bill and come back! We all looked at each other in disbelief and laughed. One person spoke up and said "we thought you were going to comp the dessert for the inconvenience of the delay." He then remembered but must say overall it was a disappointing 2 hour lunch.
Our meal was fantastic - the only thing better than the meal was the service! Thanks Pilar! Don’t miss the Primavera Risotto (with scallops) as it is epic!
Wonderful in every way. Will go back often. Very beautiful, elegant, and classy. Huge, so room for big group or an intimate dinner. Food is to die for!
A perfect celebration of Anniversary #3!
The food , the presentation , the desserts and the service were impeccable !
Great food! Fresh and well prepared
The food and service was good. However I think the prices high for Newport Beach.
Also, with a $145 tab they didn't validate the parking which cost me another $5. Surprising!
Also, the waitress Devon said the chef would send me the recipe for their roasted cauliflower which was delicious. I gave her my card which he was giving to the chef. I still haven't received the recipe as of 3 days later. Hopefully I will receive it soon.
Started with the Fig & Walnut cocktail, well done. I ordered the steak, which was delicious, but came with potatoes and beans, neither of which I can have on my diet. It would have been good if that had been communicated to us, as I did mention I had a restricted diet. My guest had the bouillabaissse, which was enjoyed, though their comment was that it was very different (but still enjoyed it!) No time for dessert this time, but will be back.
Dinner with the 4 of us. Cocktails were amazing!! Beautiful decor in the lively Fashion Island. Food was tasty with a pretty presentation. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful with making dinner choices! Love the energy! There was a female DJ as well.
It was my daughter's birthday , we were not happy with the table location and they did not accommodate us, we had reservation and when we ask for the round table they said they can not give us one because it is reserved even though we were there first with reservation. My husband was very irritated because he had the wall view.
Excellent food and ambiance.
I highly recommend this restaurant!
The outdoor patio is divine, the food fabulous and the service was great!
We had crostini for the appetizer, sea bass for the main and creme brûlée for dessert. All perfect!
We were celebrating a birthday and even though they forgot to acknowledge the birthday, it was a great night.
The wine was delicious as well, and they had a very nice selection.
We dined at this location prior and it was great. Last week’s experience was way below the standard. They ran out of Bronzino, the waitress tried her best to serve a large dining area, with little assistance. 2 managers walking around with little to no impact on service. My bouillabaisse was cold and the clams were way below average.
Seated 21 minutes late for our reservation which was made three weeks in advance. Once seated the server was over “ tabled” (we were a party of 8) with all of her tables being at the same stage of their dining experience which made things very chaotic and slow. To her credit she worked very hard to please all the tables. Food was OK, nothing special. To make matters worse as the week went on I found the same bottle of wine for $20-40 less at similar restaurants in the Newport Coast / Laguna area. Too many great choices elsewhere to recommend.
Tony, our waiter, was very nice, attentive to details and reason we gathered there. I was touched by his small but very meaningful gesture to us. The other staff who provided service to our table were nice too. Food was delicious. Thank you!
We sat at the lounge for a late lunch and the service was excellent. Our waiter couldn’t have been more attentive or kind. I’ve been going to Fig and Olive, first in the La Cienaga location which I love, and then Newport since it first opened. I have to say the quality and taste of the food has gone down with the prices remaining the same or higher. It’s such a beautiful restaurant in a wonderful location, but first and foremost, the food must be delicious and consistent. I ordered the lobster salad and was disappointed with the mostly lettuce and lack of lobster. The taste was just not satisfying. I remember the food to be much better earlier. I hope you’ll improve.
5:30 dinner reservation. Restaurant fairly empty. Super loud speaker directly over our heads blasting music and I had to ask for it to be turned down. We were a party of 13 - business dinner. The AC was broken and it was 88 degrees in the restaurant (thermostat was on wall next to us). And we were all in business attire. The restaurant management acknowledged it but didn’t seem concerned about it and made no concessions. We spent most of dinner fanning faces with menus. We left as soon as we could.
Lovely atmosphere always, but disappointed in the food this visit. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and asparagus as a side. The Sea Bass was so smothered in sauce with other ingredients I could not taste the fish! Would have been much better on its own, without any sauce (or sauce on the side of the fish). Also, the asparagus did not arrive, and instead there was broccoli which did not taste fresh.
Love the atmosphere, but the food and menu need improvement.
