What a great Thanksgiving lunch! Service was excellent (acknowledged and informing regarding an allergy at the table, thank you very much!). Food was tasty and excellent. Parking was easy.

We loved our meal and the ambiance outside was perfect! Not too loud and not too crowded. Our server was interactive with us and attentive. We will be coming back for sure!

If you want to order the octopus appetizer expect to order a dish a person. Because all that’s served is a lot of chickpeas with 2 tiny slivers of octopus legs.

My scallop entree was the worst I have ever had. And I order scallops from all restaurants in the area all the time. It’s my favorite. 2 little asparagus accompany your entree with a bed of veggie hash brown grossness that 3 not at all seared scallops lies on. The scallops are like steamed with no flavor. Not at all seared. You can taste the frozeness. Nothing like the fig and olive in LA. I will never come back here.

I ordered 2 glasses of wine. It was equivalent to 1 glass of wine. Maybe a quarter of the glass was full both times.

Do better. Service was nice. But food experience was awful.

The restaurant was running late for the reservation, we went to the bar. The service was very slow because our server had to many table. It took over 20 minutes to get a glass of wine. Several items we ordered were wrong (server took off carrots). I know it is hard to get service, but I keep paying higher prices, getting much less. It will be along time to return to one of our favorite places..

This restaurant is beautiful, with elegant California style. We had a great table next to the fireplace to celebrate a special dinner for a family member. We all loved the food, and menu items were adjusted by the kitchen for our family member with multiple food allergies. Our server and the bus staff were terrific.

Waited 30 minutes for our martinis. Husband went to bar and asked for manager. Finally got them and they comped them. Manager came to our table to apologize and said they were out of glasses. Also the martini blue cheese olives were in oil and that is never good in a drink. Salads were so salty could barely eat them. Not a great experience.

So disappointing. This used to be one of my favorites in Newport. They were very slow to open after Covid and tried to blame it on restrictions of the Irvine Co. (Their property management) but that's impossible because every other restaurant in town was open. And this was in April 2020.
As of October, they are still serving a "limited menu" again blaming Covid. They don't offer olive oil and bread anymore? They have changed their menu drastically away from their Southern French roots and it's just not good anymore. Our dinner (pork loin) was so over spiced, my daughter couldn't even eat it. Service was nice but so slow. We had to ask for everything. I see their melrose location has closed permanently. I'm sure this is an internal Fig and Olive issue and has nothing to do with Covid.
At this rate, with so many amazing restaurants nearby, I see no reason to go back.

Oh, and we were there for a birthday. Zero acknowledgement to that either.

Really good service. The food was excellent and the presentation was as well. This is my fourth time at this restaurant after being terribly disappointed with my experience at the Fig and Olive in Beverly Hills. I am so glad that I gave the operation in Fashion Island, Newport Beach, a second chance. The only negative is that their win by the glass is very pricey, more so than even the Union League in Philadelphia where I have been a member for over a quarter century. That is the only poor value at Fig and Olive.

I am so happy I dined at the Fig & Olive. My friends and I attended for O.C. Restaurant Week and it was our first time there. The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. I loved the carrot and ginger soup, and the Chicken Tajine reminded me of a delicious dish I once had in France. The entire experience was very nice.

Overall food was good, not outstanding but good. Service on the other side was really disappointing.
The server was very diligent in explaining all the dishes and she was very friendly to each of us (we were a group of 8), however, the waiting time was beyond any reasonable expectation. We all ordered 3 courses that were all served within a 3 hour span!!! Basically, an average of one dish per hour! My fil ordered mushroom risotto with chicken and they forgot the chicken. It was brought to him so late that the risotto was cold by then...
I’m thinking the restaurant was short staffed that night, as I can’t imagine service to be so bad on a regular basis.
I would go back again in a smaller group, just to confirm... as I do like their menu and ambience.

It was our first time. It was a wonderful experience. The ambient is just perfect, not to quite yet not loud enough to hear each other’s voices over the table. Defina recommended place! Will be back as well!

Lunch with friends and it was AMAZING!
Just walking in was a delight. The ambiance was perfect! The service impeccable! The food was delicious! I had the Salad Nicoise. The best salad ever!!!!

Unbelievable !!!
We would go right back if we didn’t live out of the area.
We are looking forward to going back as soon as possible.
Loved the ambiance the minute we walked in the door.

We ordered medium rare steak more on the rare side. The waitress brought us a medium and kept fighting about it. She said it’s organic fed beef. There is no such thing as organic or regular fed and come out as a different temperature cook. We have been to lots of steak houses and been to this restaurant before but really disappointed about this time.

I love this place! If you've been to the Fig and Olive in NYC, this is much the same menu, but the space is all California vibe. Light and airy and so much bigger. The food is delicious and the wine selection is pretty great. Definitely one of my go to places in NY, Chicago and now Newport Beach!
