Very nice and casual dining, Mediterranean inspired cuisine, friendly service. The lounge area in the front is a bit more relaxing - we sat in the main dining area large groups were seated and the restaurant can get very noisy.
Angel our server was excellent and made my husbands
75th birthday a great event for the two of us.
All great but the baby crying
Great food and service!
Overall positive experience except 5/6 of the attendees felt that the drinks were very weak. We asked our server to rectify this but she made no effort and claimed the drinks were “measured.”
Outstanding. Every detail well done.
Delicious food all around and a beautiful venue. The service was excellent and the dessert sample platter hit the right spot. Quite a romantic place!
Would have preferred inside seating instead of courtyard by fireplace
Love love love fig & olive!! The crunchy pralines are my FAVE!
Food came out unseasoned and bland. A fine dining restaurant such as this should know how to use salt and pepper.
We love you guys but we don’t love your avocado toast. :( sorry
Excellent food, friendly service and a fantastic singer/guitar player in the bar area! Enjoyed the music thoroughly but it wasn't so loud to interrupt conversation. Can't wait to go back!
The worst place for New Years. They were so unorganized. Dinner was served at 1140pm. 20 minutes before new year
Bad service, rushing, and waitress was walking like 100 mph. Can't even talk and sevvice us properly.
Made a reservation and still had to wait 30 minutes
Food was great but the service was very poor for a good restaurant.
I've vised this restaurant before and service was always excellent just this time it was mediocre.
This is usually a very good restaurant. New Year’s Eve was
Great place with excellent food!
The food was delicious, service was ok, however, our welcome at the door was rude. I had a confirmation email from Open Table for a reservation I made and it was NOT in your system and your hostess insisted that you don't deal with reservations those are done via NY, like thats my problem, and only after my persistence did she seat us. So disappointing to have to have a disrespectful welcome. So unnecessary. I suggest you use my reservation between you and Open Table and figure out why it didn't make it to the Newport Beach location's system when I have a confirmed email with a confirmation number
Everything was great. I was disappointed that when I called after I made my reservation for 12/31/18 they told me that they would have their normal menu. Unfortunately they did not and only had 4 available selections. It’s unfortunate that my boyfriend is allergic to all veggies, fruits, sauces, ect. Eating is very hard for him, and the only reason we wanted to come here was because they mentioned they had full menu. He wasn’t able to eat, which frustrated me. Overall, on my end food was good, not great.
Great food. The olive oils were delicious.
Very nice trendy restaurant, but our server was just okay. I would expect better service for this kind of restaurant.
The bar area was highly disorganized. Apparently they were low staffed. A couple actually sat down, never was greeted and then finally left after 10 minutes. No one ever spoke to them. We were fine at the beginning but then were left without service for the longest time. Our bill was incorrect as well. I actually felt bad for the bartender as she was simply overworked. She was doing “everything” (washing glassware, etc.). The weird thing is the restaurant was very quiet for the most part. Something was obviously not right. I still tipped our waitress.
Service was very slow. Our server was not attentive or timely.
Good food and lots of little dishes for sharing
Very nice decor
Every food we ordered was wrong or tasted bad . We always go to the la branch , but this Newport location was a disaster . Will never go back .
My wife and I really enjoyed our meal at this restaurant the other day. The Paella is delicious as well as the lobster stuffed ravioli. This is a great place for those who enjoy very delicious food at a reasonable price.
Charming California interior, great cocktails, service and food.
Typically come here several times a year. This time the food was marginal, the server unprofessional, loud and rushed us through ordering and appetizers. Brought desert menus without clearing the dinner dishes and only picked those up when she brought desert. Hardly what I have come to expect from your establishment. Extremely disappointing.
Food was amazing, atmosphere is great. Only thing I will say is we got sat outside (it is enclosed with glass but not fully-you can still feel the air outside coming in) and even with the space heaters and fire place we sat way too far from them for it to benefit us and I ended up freezing the entire meal. Would definitely ask to sit inside if you dine in the winter and you get cold easily. Would return.
Our waiter was exceptional and service oriented. He made our dinner experience more enjoyable by suggesting excellent wines. My risotto was delicious and savory. Everyone commented about how good the food was and a good time was had by all.
Everything was superb. From the Valet, Bartenders, Waiters... we received great service on all fronts.
Had a great time and great meal. Someone had brought a very loud screaming child so we decided to eat at the bar and avoid dining area. Bar service was excellent, comfortable, attentive, etc. The full menu was available at the bar and the crowd at bar was light, so it was a good alternative. Menu is creative and food quality very good- we had short ribs with a balsamic reduction, and a lemon chicken- both excellent. Very nice wine list and some killer desserts. Highly recommend and will return
Price fixe on 12/24 had very limited choices. I have to say that, even though I’m not much of a cook, the salmon I make at home is better than what I received at F&O.
The food was very good but the service was poor for this level restaurant in Newport Beach. This is surprising as they didn’t appear to be too busy on Christmas Eve. We thought it was a poor value for the money and couldn’t understand the set menu. I ordered a cappuccino and it was delivered very late and you could tell the coffee must have been sitting on the burner for 30 minutes plus. We’ll duplicate these comments on Yelp and will echo these comments to my company for future functions.
Great food. Good design/ ambiance. HORRIBLE service.
Deceived by the service:
Imagine ordering to a waiter, wait for about 30 min to get at least your drinks, imagine that your order arrives in disorder, you do not even get the soup that was in the menu and asking you if you want to order some more when even the main order wasn't delivered- that was our experience there for Christmas Eve diner.
Went there for an early Christmas Eve dinner. Loved the festive decorations. Only two other tables were filled but our waitress was not attentive or very friendly. In fact she seemed flustered and not focused. I wanted decaf tea and it was English bkst or camomile but she wasn't sure if other choices might be decaf. I had to ask for bread and this was after we already finished our soup (first course) The bread should have been the first thing we received after our drink order. Usually service is spot on and very professional but sadly not tonight. For $72/person there were four courses: First course was one choice of soup, second course had 3 appetizer choices (mushrooms was the best, hamachi was too plain), third course the main entree 4 choices: risotto, salmon (good), chicken (okay) or short ribs (okay) and the fourth course was two choices for dessert (the cheesecake was way too sweet, the pot de creame was small but nice). $72 seemed too much for the limited menu choices, limited decaf teas and for poor service.
A worthwhile choice!
A Must do!
