My daughter and I love Fig and Olive Newport Beach. Very saddened to hear they are closing. The ambience last Saturday was wonderful. Our espresso martinis were yummy. And the food, I had fish and my daughter had pasta, was delectable. So wish we had a Fig and Olive in San Diego.!

Terrible service. Had to ask someone to get our server to order. Took an hour to get our salad (after asking again). Took another 30 minutes to get our dinner (after asking again) while the couple next to us was seated well after us and was finished with dinner while we were still asking for our dinner. No apologies. Just blamed it on being short staffed and a busy kitchen (even though a few staff members were on their phones near / in the bar). Food wasn’t flavorful and nothing special.

Can’t say fig and olive was worth the pricing. Food was sub par, the crostini’s were good…nothing to write home about. Service wasn’t the best. Probably won’t return. There are other restaurants in the area that are worth their pricing.

My wife and I came for our Valentine’s Day dinner. Extremely limited menu, and not looking to accommodate those with food sensitivities and allergies. Also food on that limited menu was subpar at best. Ambiance was the only thing this place had going for it.

From the moment you walk in the door it’s confusion chaos - the messy haphazard hostess doesn’t even know to ask the guests to follow her .. she just starts walking off on her own randomly trying to think she’s seating people when no one‘s following her and she doesn’t even know where she’s going… Then there’s the cluster mess waiting over an hour just to put in an order while hardly any tables are there during the lunch hour .. tons of staff everywhere and just cluster mess - no management .. management needs to train people better … or it’s the management who needs training on how to train fine dining

My first time dining at Fig & Olive and found it to be a neighborhood gem. The decor is amazing and the service excellent. The Salmon was perfectly cooked and presented. My only suggestion is that they redo their wine by the glass list....not that impressive.

Fantastic dining experience. Food was great and the restaurant is beautiful. What really set Fig and Olive apart was the amazing service. Very well paced. Server was attentive without being obtrusive. I ordered a glass of wine that ended up not really going well with the food. Our noticed my looking her way and came over immediately. I told her what wine I would like instead and she had it at my table in what seemed like a few seconds. Very impressed with this restaurant.

Horrible service, food was cold.. even after sending back.. came back cold again. Of course this is because of covid.. we ordered a second bottle of wine… which came after they already cleared the table… This place is just a mess.. just wait till covid is over and they has actual cooks and servers again.. may I suggest Taco Bell, that seem to be able to serve warm food… I have been here before and was great, now it’s absolutely horrible… Stay away from this place and save yourself a huge disappointment.

Great experience with delicious food and wonderful service. Loved having dinner next to the cozy fireplace on a chilly night. The Burrata appetizer was fresh and flavorful, the steak cooked perfectly, medium rare, and the pumpkin bundt cake was moist and decadent. My only recommendation, a better wine selection. Thank you

If you want to order the octopus appetizer expect to order a dish a person. Because all that’s served is a lot of chickpeas with 2 tiny slivers of octopus legs. My scallop entree was the worst I have ever had. And I order scallops from all restaurants in the area all the time. It’s my favorite. 2 little asparagus accompany your entree with a bed of veggie hash brown grossness that 3 not at all seared scallops lies on. The scallops are like steamed with no flavor. Not at all seared. You can taste the frozeness. Nothing like the fig and olive in LA. I will never come back here. I ordered 2 glasses of wine. It was equivalent to 1 glass of wine. Maybe a quarter of the glass was full both times. Do better. Service was nice. But food experience was awful.
