Thank you for making my birthday special!
We had an appetizer of six different crostinis, which were all delicious. My husband had the truffle omelette, and I had the hanger steak salad. The eggs were stupendous with a strong scent and moderate truffle flavor. The hanger steak was well marinated with a perfect medium rare cook. I would highly recommend the mimosas and Bellinis!
food wasn't as good as expected
not coming back
i can spend same amount money and enjoy with better food
Food was good, atmosphere was gorgeous and service was excellent. Only thing that was annoying was that they brought us two desserts from the menu that we hadn't ordered. It was all 3 of our birthdays so we thought this was so nice. But then when the bill came we were charged $12 each for them! What if those weren't the dessest we would have ordered? What if we were allergic to chocolate or on a diet? If you bring something to the table that wasn't ordered, you can't charge, that's just rude.
Pretty, tasty, well executed
Enjoyed Fig & Olive immensely! Attentive and smiling staff; beautiful dining room & delicious food. Highly recommend!
Great space nice wine list tasty apps. Fun eve.
Great birthday dinner
Reservation for 3pm due to just getting off a flight from D.C. so the restaurant was relatively empty. We glanced at the menu and my husband already had his mind on the steak frites ($32)on the lunch menu. The server approached and read the specials which included a Tomahawk steak. So since it sound better (came with roasted potatoes and spinach instead of fries) he chose that instead. Prices were NEVER mentioned by the server. The steak was larger than the steak frites; however I would NO WAY call it close to being a $125 steak! That is what was listed on our receipt. In addition, our guest and myself had the other special (shrimp and scallops risotto) and were charged more than simply ordering the menu risotto choice and adding scallops and shrimp.
Had a wonderful time with my boyfriend, food was great!
Food was very good and waiter was very pleasant. It’s a lovely restaurant to celebrate our anniversary.
Amazing food. Amazing service!!!
Amazing for and atmosphere
Overall food and experience was okay but aligned to the prices charged. My filet came out blood rare after ordering pink inside and it took 4 attempts to get the salmon order right. Perhaps it was an off night night but those sorts of errors should be associated with the prices charged.
Restaurant was pretty and food was good, but not great. Our first dish-the mushroom croquets were awesome, the crostini’s were very so-so and the salmon burger was interesting. The apple tart dessert was delicious though. I would go back, but with not as high an expectation.
Great service and good
We loved the room and the service was super, however all the food was bland in flavor and at least needed salt.
Good quality food. Lovely space. Pricey though.
The waiter is too unprofessional for the high end restaurant!! Bad attitude and no commen sense for the rule of dining.
We were at Fig and Olive to celebrate an 84th birthday with our family. The staff could not have been kinder or more accommodating. The food was outstanding and very unique. We loved our time together in such a warm and welcoming environment. Thanks to the staff who served us on Sunday February 25
great service, good food but definitely an overhyped place
Got sick for $200
Lovely decor, great service, and delicious food. Great for a fun night out with friends, but go elsewhere if you desire a romantic, cozy, time with someone special or if you want to actually converse well with others in your party. We were celebrating our anniversary - not a good choice for that, but I'd return with a group of friends for a casual night out.
It was a wonderful experience... Will definitely be back :)
amazing experience! food was delicious, great cocktails. Loved the atmosphere!! 10/10 recommend
Expensive, flavorless food that arrives either stone cold or too hot to eat.
Food was overall good. Service was amazing and staff were accommodating and friendly.
Very disappointing experience there yesterday. Completely uninterested service. Waiter did not check on us once. Messed up on the cutlery. Chair was wobbly but no one to talk to to fix it. Food itself was decent.
I have been wanting to check this place out for a while since I live in the area... I finally went the other night and it fell flat in my opinion. The atmosphere is gorgeous if you sit in the main restaurant, unfortunately we were seated in the back, in literally the worst table available - next to a door, the service was good, but the food, was lacking. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't terrific considering the cost. I was with two other people, and I think everyone had a comment about their food, none of us were wowed, we all felt like it was either bland, or overpriced for what it was considering the flavors were nothing exciting. The descriptions were much more imaginative than the actual cuisine. It's too bad, but you live and you learn. The appetizers were the highlight of this meal sadly. We could have stopped after apps, and gone to eat at a tried and true favorite, and been much happier. It was strange that they put us in the back near a door. We showed up early and no one was in the restaurant. It was not packed when we left either, it was definitely filling up, but we could have had a much better table for our short stay. I had one mussel in my meal that was literally uncooked and slimy. I had to split it out. I won't return.
Based on a strong recommendation from a friend, I Made a 7:15PM reservation for a Saturday, well in advance of a weekend trip in LA. We showed up on time and got seated promptly. Much to our dismay, we quickly figure out that we got relegated to the "back room" - a very poor facsimile to the main dining room - a flagrant attempt to maximize seating with zero regard to the restaurant experience. First, our party of five was seated at table with broken sleeves - four of us had hanging sleeves sitting on our laps. Strike 1. I complained, but was told there were no other tables available. We had two different uncoordinated waiters attempt to serve us - with a third explaining the specials for the evening and taking our order. Over the next 90 minutes we were served our food with zero appearance of the wait persons. Our medium-rare steak was well done, our duck was also over cooked. Our special Branzino for two, pitched as "expertly deboned" was full of bones. No one came to ask about the food - we were too hungry to complain - Strike 2. One of our wait persons showed up to take our dessert order. The desserts were quite good. Post dessert, we waited 20 minutes for the check - strike 3. After spending more than $500 for a sub-par dinner, I asked to talk to the Manager on my way out. I explained our experience - he made a nervous and insincere apology - about "your experience" with zero recognition/ownership that his team failed to deliver an enjoyable dinner experience. Don't waste your time here - there's way better places in LA.
Always perfect at Fig and Olive!
It has been a few years since my last visit and was a bit disappointed that some favorites like the goat cheese tart was missing from the menu. That being said, the boulliabaise was delicious. The Fig & Olive salad was not what I remembered it to be, but one can never go wrong with a salad of fresh fruits, greens and nuts!
Our server was very knowledgeable and his support staff friendly and fun. We closed the placed down, so clearly a good time was had by all.
We celebrated our twins' birthday there on Saturday night. Our waitress was Fantastic. I wish i could remember her name-she was from Romania. She was super busy but still gave us great service. The food was awesome- i had the duck! highly recommend- ordered medium rare! She also gave us dessert on the house which was sooo good! some kind of chocolate cake and cheesecake. We will definitely be back for another birthday celebration at Fig and Olive!
It was a good place overall. Our waiter was really good at recommending what's best for our needs. Overall good experience. It was a little pricey though.
Great food & service. Elegant but also relaxed. Every dish was artfully prepared & very tasty.
Good food, good vibe. Prompt service. Definitely recommend it.
Great food, a little pricey and noisy. Been here before and will return.
Great ambiance and service. Loved the food. They gave us the pot of chocolate for dessert as a gift. Nice!
Good food and service. Limited parking for non valet. Price is on the high side.
