FIG & OLIVE Melrose Place

We had a Best Birthday Dinner for our dear friend family 😘 . Our group did half Dine LA and the rest their regular Dinner Menu and it’s so so so good. Will definitely come back.
Great wait staff and very responsive
Yummy food, and especially the sauces and desserts
Came in at around 6ish for happy hour before our dinner reservation in the main dining area at 7:30pm.
To be honest, the overall service here was great -
with the EXCEPTION of one individual, a waitress (young, petite build, brunette) that was working in the lounge area that evening of Wednesday 7/17/19
Long story short- I ordered a drink & she ridiculed me for handing over my ID - saying,
''Do people still think you look young to be carded?" ... WTF!!!! Wow.
I personally work in the food/service industry as well...
So please correct me if I'm wrong, to my understanding it is standard procedure to request for ID when a patron is ordering an alcoholic beverage - regardless of age or how visually young or old a guest may appear.
UNLESS - Fig&Olive as an establishment does not enforce the policy of carding patrons for alcoholic consumption.
(If thats the case, if you're under 21 & reading this - you've hit the jackpot.)
Aside from this one particular individual, everyone else @ Fig & Olive was superb. From the hostess to the servers in the main dining room - Amazing.
Food and desserts on the other hand was MEH ... or might've had lost my appetite having being ridiculed earlier on in the night.
Lovely. Delicious. A great evening. A special treat.
Excellent service. Wonderful food. Desserts were so tasty. It was a lovely evening there.
Nicholai took such great care of us - excellent service & great food!
Delicious food. Beautiful restaurants. Spacious and warm. Great wine and cocktail list. Service is happy to have you languish all night.
We ate there on Wednesday and had a terrific meal. We ate there on Thursday with other friends and were VERY VERY disappointed. The food was just average, and somehow the chef missed his mark, even though we ordered the exact same items.
The sea bass was dry and over cooked, the salmon also dried out, and the branzino - even though it was filleted, was full of bones, small and over cooked. A chef that can’t produce the same food 2 nights in a row...wow! What a disappointment.
Bad food .. I liked the space but overall food is bad
It was very nice and special place to celebrate my Birthday. They brought us a cake with candle really nice place...
Absolutely loved the experience my mother and I had. We went for her birthday and it was the first time I was able to treat her out entirely to a nice meal and just seeing how much she enjoyed the restaurant and the food was priceless.
Get the truffle croquettes. I can’t say more on just how DELICIOUS this was. I wanted to order a second order of it but held myself back for other plates.
Will definitely be back!
Great lunch with wonderful staff and great service.
Enjoyed meal very much. Beautiful decor & great service.
Specialty menu of asparagus risotto & sangria was delicious.
Perfect spot for friends get together, lunch, coffee after or before shopping! Love everything about this place!
First time there..yes, .I would go back. The food, great service, and environment is perfect. Three stars on value--seemed a little pricey.
It’s pricey, but very much worth it. We had an excellent meal, the service was attentive and not overbearing and the setting is always lovely. Love the crostini, amazing scallops and an exceptional branzino de-boned table-side. Delicious. Great night.
Waiter seemed a little overwhelmed.
Music way too loud to have a conversation, but the staff were willing to turn it down.
Great service and ambience
Some portion sizes very small for the price but risotto filling
Meals a little under seasoned although appreciate everyone’s taste is different.
Beautiful setting to enjoy a wonderful lunch! Highly recommend!
The staff from the host to the bartender to the server and bussers were PHENOMENAL!!! Great people!!
This was our first visit to Fig & Olive to celebrate Father’s Day. Our dinner was really good! Julia was our server and did a fantastic job! She was friendly, attentive, engaging and kind. The food was wonderful. We tried the the trio appetizer, the Fig and Olive salad, mushroom rigatoni with added salmon, the sea bass, and the lamb chops. Desert was cheesecake with what appeared to be cherries marinated in liquor. All very tasty! The room was lovely and airy with high ceilings yet felt intimate. Would go there again!
Soup served cold twice. Returned it and left without desert or coffee.
Great ambience, great food and great cocktails. My girlfriend and I loved it.
Love the crostini appetizer selections and Branzino for two entre. Was a little disappointed by the wine selection as several that were listed on the menu weren't available. They're changing the wine menu so are letting the favorites run out. The center room gets loud due to a high ceiling combined with cafeteria flooring, but the place is beautiful.
This was our fifth or sixth time dining at the Fig & Olive Melrose place. It's our go to place when attending a show later in the night. Dinner at 6 or 6:30 before the restaurant gets busier has worked well for us. The food has always been really good. We enjoy the deserts too!
The food, the atmosphere, the service.. everything is perfect at Fig&Olive. You really should try their cocktail menu! Definitely recommend!
Had a wonderful anniversary dinner, and Nicholas was personable and provided outstanding service. The Branzino for two was a light delight. We would go here again when in LA!
Unfortunately we weren't very impressed with the food. The ambiance and the decor was loverly and our server was great but the food itself wasn't something we'd come back to try again.
Beautiful ambiance, excellent service, and delectable food make for a wonderful experience. For appetizers, we ordered crostinis and roasted cauliflower. Both were good, but not extraordinary. For dinner my party ordered the truffle risotto, filet, sea bass, and a side of mashed potatoes. Everyone was extremely happy with their entrees and a non-mushroom lover may have transformed into a mushroom lover after trying the risotto. The mashed potatoes were dry and bland, unlike the brûléed cheesecake which left us wanting more. For the price, my expectation is a well-rounded experience from start to finish. With appetizers and a side dish adding up to $50 without the taste warranting the cost, it’s hard to give five stars. However, I certainly would sway a foodie to Fig and Olive based on the overall meal. Oh, and “Bob” was a delight!
It was a lovely experience. Anastasia was very charming and informative. It was our 4th Anniversary and having been at Fig & Olive in the past we chose Fig & Olive to comfortably celebrate our marriage. The wine was superb and the martinis were beyond. The Branzino was out of this world. From the serious olive oils to the burrata we were treated with thoughtful food preparation, served in a pleasant, open space. Thank you Fig & l Olive. See you soon.
Beautiful place and ambiance. Just a bit on the expensive side:) I’ll definitely come back with friends.
The ambiance of the place is great. There were enough plant based options on the menu. The waiter was not charming. The one reason I do recommend it is that its a great place to sit and relax with your friends, and everyone can find something for themselves on the menu.
Anastasia was our excellent server, the entire staff is very good . The food is excellent. The bread with olive oils and vinegar , crostini, the Fig and Olive Salad, and our entrees were all splendid. I had the Primavera Risotto, my husband has the mushroom rigatoni, and we loved them both.
Great customer service (Anastasia)!!! Ambiance is great!!
They have to change the chef 😟😟
The entrees were mediocre; not adequate for the price. The chicken came with hardly any vegetables. When extras were solicited the mashed potatoes were no longer purple, watery & tasteless. The paella had decently cooked rice, and the scallop & shrimp were well cooked, but the rice lacked the caramelization expected on a proper paella. The dish was not hot and the clams were dried out. A congealed hollandaise piled on top tasted as unappetizing as it looked—all as if it had been under a heat lamp.
In the past the food here has been excellent. Returning after a couple of years was a big disappointment.
A truly delightful experience for me. My first time visiting this location and the ambience was lovely. It was also a very thoughtful touch for the complimentary round of champagne for my bridal party. Thank you Fig + Olive.
The service was exceptional. One of our party had a problem with their order our waiter and the manger on duty handled everything like real professionals. It was a mere blip in an otherwise fantastic experience. I high recommend this restaurant. Top notch cocktails, delicious food and super wait staff and management. An A-Plus.
