Food was excellent!!!
Service, on the other hand was @ 0 level.
Waitress was super busy and went MIA.
Had hard time tracking her down.
I am 100% that she forgot about our order, as I asked her about it an hour after it was placed and she miraculously found it 20 minutes after that.....
Luckily, her manager stepped in brought deserts and champagne on the house and then waived an entire as a courtesy for a bad service experience.
What a classy guy!!!
Terrific food and ambiance. Great for special occasions.
Ridiculously small glasses of wine and a very average tasting Manhattan and not cold.
But the food was amazing.
We will return.
Let the restaurant know we were there for our wedding anniversary but no special attention was given, in fact complete lack there-of by waiter, Nathan. We waited over 10 minutes for him to come over and attend to our needs.
The salmon I’ve gotten before was much better, also the salad was lacking and ingredients seemed light. Not sure if it was an off-day or F&O changed chefs recently, but all-in-all not a great experience at all.
Good food, but way too expensive. Service was also mediocre.
We went early, to celebrate a senior colleague's 98th birthday. It was perfect. Thanks so much. sk
Server was sparse and forgot some of our order. But the food was good and ambience was lovely
Enjoyed the evening from the moment we entered the restaurant. Food was awesome. Service is top notch. A bit expensive but i guess once in a while you deserve to give you a treat. Will definitely go back.
Great place for either anniversary or friend gathering. foods are tasty, casual but joyful environment. strongly recommend
Beautiful place and the food was OK, but very overpriced for what it was. For $24 I expect an amazing salad. This one was good but not nearly special enough for the price.
Service was attentive, and front desk very accommodating. Not a busy time, so hard to tell what the noise level normally is when full.
Watch the curb outside the valet, because it slopes. I fell right off into the street.. right on my head. Neither the restaurant personnel nor the valet made any effort to help, but there were other customers waiting at the valet who were very nice and helpful. So much for caring service outside, anyway.
bUT TO Noise !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Food not good. Service poor
Good for all the above!
We went to Fig and Olive to celebrate my birthday. We were seated quickly and then met by a very surly waiter. He seemed like we were inconveniencing him by sitting at his table. When I asked what came on the plate with my egg dish he said, " what do you mean?" I asked if it had any sides or anything. I wanted to know because I am not eating bread or carbs and didn't want to waste food should the eggs be served with toast. He said " It comes on a plate by itself just as it is described in the menu. It's a simple dish." ok...well it was served with a salad and 4 pieces of toast!!!! When the same waiter came to fill the water glasses he spilled it all over the table and my mother. He said nothing. We were upset to see the tip had been added as we would not have given this very unpleasant waiter a penny. He really put a damper on a nice event. The food was fine, nothing to write home about. I did love the crostini app since I had the option to have it served on zucchini. Nice touch. not enough for me to go back.
We were disappointed with our service. For the price, we expected to not have to wait for water refills or to have to track down our waiter. The food was good as always. Just a bit disappointed with service. Seems like our waiter was very busy with too many tables.
Excellent service and food. Lived up to its reputation. Would recommend.
The restaurant is lovely. Their food is good. It was strange they closed at 10pm. They started shutting down at 930. That was strange.
loved this restaurant...such a nice place and atmosphere. food was incredible....the mushroom croquetts are to die for.
We had a table outside, near the "Rose all day" sign. It took an hour for the waitress to get our order. Either they forget the fact that there are people outside or they simply don't care. Music was loud, I felt like they were trying to make a display window there, but they forgot that we were actual customers, not silicon models! Also, please tell your chief that when you cut the egg over a smoked salmon, it has to leak a liquid form of the egg yolk, ours were fully cooked. We didn't send it back because it already took an hour to get that thing. Sorry but this was an awful experience.
Nice place, modern music, perfect service and good meal.
Celebrated a friends birthday. Very nice dinner , beautiful atmosphere, great cocktails, very good service. Great location on Melrose Place. They comped us a birthday dessert which was lovely.
Food is okay. Place is so nice. But the ladies next to us are talking so loudly.
Haven’t been to F&O for a couple years and decided to pop in when a friend from NY was in town. Had a super nice waiter, who guided us through a spectacular meal. Started with the Crostini’s (Burrata, Shrimp and Steak Tar Tar), which were super yummy. Moved on to the Risotto with chicken added and a filet plus a side of Brussels spouts. The Risotto was awesome and the steak melted in the mouth. Throughout this experience, the waiter was friendly and attentive. While a bit pricy, the great service, food quality and ambiance made it all worth it.
The service was so bad I will never come back to this restaurant.
We had a reservation for 7:15pm on Monday night. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. We arrived and waited for our table which was not ready. The host said people were “hanging out” but didn’t seem to care that we had a res. They finally offered to seat us at these little tables in the bar area. We agreed because we we’re hungry. The appetizers were great but the main dishes left a lot tons desired. Pumpkin risotto that tasted nothing like pumpkin or risotto, mushroom rigatoni that was average at best, and dry salmon with gross sauce that tasted like soil piled bananas. Our waitress was very sweet but spotty on attentiveness. We enjoyed ourselves regardless of the food, and overall, it’s a really cool place to go. Just not worth the price.
Satisfactory overall... staff was cordial and efficient
Molto bello L ambiente e la musica , cibo buono cocktail molto buoni forse un po’ troppo caro
Noisy, slow service and I mean slow with a lame excuse
Fig and Olive was fantastic! Brought my parents here while they were in town visiting and we all thoroughly enjoyed. My mom has a severe gluten allergy and not only did the menu clearly indicate what she could and couldn’t eat, the waiter was also knowledgeable and helpful in making selections. The restaurant is gorgeous with beautiful twinkling lights and elegant decorations. Can’t wait to return again soon!
Great evening, food was phenomenal, drinks were superb, great place overall.
this was the worst experience i have had. what a shame. complete waste of my valentine with my fiance. waited over 1 hour 15 minutes beyond reservation time of 9:15 and at the end valet lost my key. we were sitted at 10:30. no words to describe the frustration and no apologies or at least courtesy discounts.
It was a disaster, the restaurant was way over booked. I reserved a table for 9:15 pm and I got seated after 10pm. The food was average, nothing spectacular; and the servers and bossboys were overwhelmed because it was out of hand.
Disaster on Valentine’s Day. Wait was 1.5 hours for a reservation at 9:15... we left but STILL had to forfeit our reservation fee of $25 per person?? Never going back and never sending anyone there
The food, atmosphere and music was all very good but we had to wait an hour and twenty minutes for our table which we had a reservation for. That should never happen. The management did buy a round of drinks for us on the house to make it up to us which was nice but we didn’t start eating till 10:45pm. Which is way too late. Other than that, the food, music and vibe was awesome.
Whether by demand or design, there was an insane crush of people at the entrance, ten across and five deep. Even so, we found space at the bar for the 40 minutes it took from our reservation time to get us seated.
Complimentary champagne while we waited, and a lovely live jazz/pop band, made it a breeze to hang out.
We enjoyed a great table in the back of the beautifully designed and spacious restaurant.
Pretty timely, very attentive and fuss-free service. All followed by an amazing meal: superbly aromatic and flavorful olive oils, 18-years aged balsamic that clung to their sweet focaccia slices like tar to fine shoe leather. A beautifully dressed salad dotted with aged cheeses, and a luscious cut of beef... everything was very well considered and perfectly prepared.
The trio tasting of desserts, and bottle of Sancerre, rounded out a memorable meal.
What a delightful Valentine’s meal. Thank you!
Waited 45 minutes for a table and I had a reservation. Food was cold. They didn’t bring what I ordered to drink but they send dessert at the end to apologize.
We went on a busy day, so we expected delays, noise and people.
But no excuse for the lack of service we received.
Waiter had no idea what he was doing.
I spoke to the manager to try to get it resolved and management had absolutely no interest in making anything better.
Even more upsetting was the fact that a table next to us had a mess up on their order and their was a huge effort to make it up to them, and they ended up leaving happy paying customers.
Yes it was a busy day and it's understandable, but who hires management?
How are they representing such a well known name?
The waiter went to get the manager for a second time when I asked to speak with her again and she turned around and never saw her again.
I'm assuming her shift was over?
Had valentines dinner last night. 7:30pm reservation, got seated 8:30pm. Way too many people and restaurant obviously cannot handle. Ordered the Osso bucco which was one of the special packages. Osso bucco must have sat under the warming light way too long. It was dry like toast. I wanted to let the waiter know but he never showed up to ask how our meal was. Very disappointing.
We had Valentine’s Day dinner here, the quality of the food is always good here. The service is especially slow perhaps they are busy with all the guests rushing in, the ambience is good, little on the noisy side with the band playing in the other room by the bar. Overall is good spot.
Appetizers were all rushed out at once.,. then 30 minute wait for main course. we left and cancelled our entrees.
