I came here for the first time with my husband. I thought the appetizers we got (crostinis, octopus carpaccio and beef carpaccio) were just OK. Our entrees however were phenomenal! I got the mushroom pasta and my husband got the lobster ravioli. Delish.
Love the Sunday Jazz Music!!! The place looks fabulous after the remodel but PLEASE bring back the beautiful floral arrangements! Miss those!!!
The service as always was MARVELOUS! Very attentive and accommodating waitstaff. I am vegan and have never had difficulty eating here. The food is really amazing! We especially love the tomato gazpacho! They even made us a vegan dessert crostini!

We had a wonderful early dinner there. Food was solid and impressive.
There was a wedding party in the bar area, so it was a bit more lively than usual.
Overall, ambiance is good without being too quiet.
Crostini, good overall, but the beef one was a little bland
croquette tasting, good
octopus carpaccio, amazingly thin, but flavor is OK
Lamb, excellent with rosemary smoked flavoring
Truffle risotto, good and very flavorful
The only issue, which is perhaps the problem with ordering, is that three of the above used a lot of mushrooms, so are similarly flavored. The risotto was less impressive than it could have been by itself.
Excellent in every way. Can't believe I waited so long to try it!

The food was good. Generous portions. The service was horrible and ruined the experience.
Fig and Olive is a beautiful restaurant. The menu is exciting. However, something is lost from the menu to the table. I thought the croquettes were ordinary. I ordered the FIG & OLIVE Salad. You would think that if a salad was named after the restaurant it would be exceptional. It was not. Plus, the bowl was too small to eat the salad out of. The Pot de Crème for dessert was also ordinary. I will probably not be returning.

Sunday brunch. Food took some time to reach the table. Thought the gazpacho soup was a little watery. Enjoyed the chicken picatta salad.

Went to Fig & Olive for DineLA. Great food.
We caught it on a night that featured The Dine LA experience and it was outstanding- along with the value.
We celebrated my birthday during DineLA week & everything was exquisite! I can’t wait to go back.
The food was delicious and the cocktails were too. We enjoyed the DineLA menu selections and generous portions.
The waiters and staff are disaffected.
If you aren’t someone, or look like you may ‘be someone’ (AKA have the right look of money/skin tone/ etc.), they can’t seem to be bothered to serve you with all the little extras everyone else is getting at the other tables with similar food items. My order was not brought out properly, my order was not taken down and submitted correctly to the kitchen, the plates were handed out for each person to grab on their own rather than placed in front of them.
And no, I didn’t say anything. I typically allow the waitstaff to wait on me to see if they can self-correct on their own. I order clearly without changing the chef’s dishes, do not have my server running back and forth because I forget to mention I needed something at the table, I converse quietly with my table guests, and I tip generously.
Every customer should be treated exactly the same way. Why should I point out their lack of training/professionalism/courtesy, when it is up to the management to properly instruct their staff to welcome all customers to their establishment with the same courtesy and professionalism at all times?
Last (and only) time I’ll ever go there. Maybe they do less for you if you order the Dine LA menu. At least at McDonalds, I know it’s my order and not someone else’s.
Salmon was just a little overcooked.
There was full people in the restaurant and waiting long time to sit in the table. Good mood for friends and date and white interior was attracted but it was less expectation than I thought overall
The food didn’t wow me. It wasn’t bad but not great. The service was poor at best. Felt like I was bothering him by being there. Not worth a second trip.
We dined here once before several years ago and we were not overly impressed. This time, however, was excellent. Three of us had the DineLA menu. The burrata/heirloom tomato and croquette tasting were generous and tasty. The entrees of Truffle Risotto, Lobster Ravioli and Moroccan Free Range Chicken were all delicious. We tried both desserts, though the Pot de Creme was a far superior choice than the Olive Oil Cake. We also had the Lamb Chops which were not on the DineLA menu, but we would highly recommend. It was served with an excellently prepared eggplant caponata. A winner.
It was recommended to me and I founds to be as expected and up t the recommendation. Daniel
Apps took 35 mins after ordering. It was cold soup and a salad. Attending waiter was never around. Place was not as busy as we were there at 3pm on Sunday. However they did give a discount on the bill.
A special VIP was seated next to us. The waiter nearly ignored us. I think if they have someone important they should have handed us to another staff member. After eating to nearly 40 minutes to get someone to clear table. Then they ignored us 30 minutes more to bring tab. The funny thing is the VIP table had our waiters attention about 30 times. Us 3 times. The funniest thing is between my friend and myself our combined net wealth is over 700 million. I'm sure that VIP wealth was nowhere near.
Valet at the door, and got seated within minutes, which is very nice. Our server was really nice and explained the menu selection to us in detail. Food was above average although we had ordered our rib eye to be med-well, but came out well done, and was really dry. Other then that everything was good.
We always love the restaurant, but this time we are a little disappointed with the service. We sat the couch by the bar, and I guess this was wrong. The waitress girl who also serve as a bartender was not rude but when we asked about the pasta we might want to order, she was like “it’s ok, but I recommend the other one with lobster..” we think the restaurant should not have the ok dish on the menu. She could answer it more positively.
And after the order, all the dishes came so fast so our Saturday night dining was made to finish quick. We wanted to enjoy more slowly. Plus they didn’t serve their bread and olive oil until the end which was supposed to come at the beginning of the meal. We actually had to ask for it. And they didn’t bring our side dish. So we ended up canceling it. Plus we watched a bartender guy arguing with a waitress girl. They should not show any personal issue in front of the guests.
We always loved and impressed the service at this restaurant, but this was the first time we came home disappointed. Maybe we should not sit the couch table as it is served by bartenders.
Food was fantastic, the server was awesome! All that said, when I arrived, there wasn’t a host/hostess available with no one around to explain their absence or that they had stepped away and would be returning shortly.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Fig and Olive. Everything from the food to the ambiance were wonderful. I definitely recommend a date or fun night out here.
We have been many times. Despite being Dine La. the food was not up to Par. Ordered from menu & as well (as dine La) and a dish had many times found it to be subpar. I should returned it. The dine La menu choice included a regular menu dish. It was not served traditionally with the side sauces Moroccan chicken.(pesto,almonds,harissa like sauce). This makes the dish. Unfortunate.

the food was too salty and the fish was too fat, too much oil.
Was very disappointed. My sea Bass was very tasty however, my husbands salad was virtually uneatable. My daughter's Moroccan chicken was bland and uninspired. The cheese board was well presented and the choices were nice. The people watching was exceptional though. Several celebrities and the various characters made for an enjoyable sideshow. Cost was a bit high for the quality of the food.
Came back after a few years absence. Front staff was great, friendly and welcoming. This was a business meeting with a client who I work for via phone but had never met. I'm male; she's female. I was a bit surprised when I met the woman as she was dressed somewhat provocatively, if you get the drift. Server was initially good, took drink order, spoke when appropriately and gave us time. The woman excused herself and the waiter and I chatted. I actually told him this was a first business meeting with a person I'd only done work for over the telephone and was meeting for the first time. I confessed she did not look as I expected.
The food came and was surprisingly creative, eye appealing and very good. I made a mental note that the place is close to my home and office and I'd definitely have to return more often. I then excused myself to the restroom while waiting for the check.
I came back to the table where the check was waiting, my having given the waiter my credit card as I stood up. The credit card was already signed (by the woman) with an indication of "zero" for a tip.
I looked up at her and she said "DO NOT change that. DO NOT give the waiter a tip. The moment you left he said 'what are you doing with that guy' you should be with me." She said he tried to give her his phone number and aggressively "hit on her."
Bottom Line; Luckily she did not blame me and I did not lose a client. Unfortunately, I will not be back which is too bad as I liked the food.
Hoping this last visit was a one-off as its usually better food and a better experience than this. A business lunch - our dishes came 45 minutes after we ordered. Both were poor. The heirloom tomato appetizer comped by our waiter was great though. Maybe he should have chosen our entrees too.
Had a wonderful meal celebrating my wife's birthday. I left a note on the OpenTable page that we were celebrating an occasion by that was never told to our server.
It was a birthday lunch and it just seemed like the waiter was not at all attentive to our table and there was really no one in the restaurant much .....so it was annoying when the plates stayed on the table and service was only there when I asked for attention ....other than that we love Fig and Olive’s ambience.
