FIG & OLIVE Meatpacking Ratings and Reviews
My first time at the restaurant picked it based on location and menu on open table. I was pleasantly surprised, it exceeded my expectation. We were running a little late because the area was more congested than expected so parking was hard to find. But they told us to go have a drink at the bar and they will seat us once a table became available. By the time we finished our drink the table was ready. The staff was very accommodating. The drinks were very good and the food was delicious. I will be back.
We had a reservation for 8:30 and they made us wait 35 minutes to be seated. What's the point of a reservation if you have to wait to be seated? They might as well not take any reservations and work on a first come first served basis. The food was good, though. But the overall experience wasn't because of the waiting.
After having to be very forward with hostess we were finally seated 30min after our reservation (we arrived 10min prior to our reservation). Then we sat at our table for 15-20 min before anyone waited on us (didn't even get tap water).
Had a similar experience when we visited for a family dinner. Thought it was a once off experience, but unfortately seems service hasn't improved.
Fun atmosphere, cool vibe, food is average for Manhattan. Nice place for drinks, but won't be back for dinner.
The hostess seemed bothered when our party was all there and we asked to be seated. We couldn’t be seated until we closed out at the bar. It took several requests to have that done. (It was not crowded) Once seated, our orders came out in random order and it took several requests, again to receive drinks. There were a lot of servers standing around doing nothing. There are as no excuse for the poor service. At this price point, one should have a better dining experience.
We popped in for a quick dinner on a Tuesday night. The decor and atmosphere is really welcoming and vibrant. The staff and service were first class. The bouillabaisse was the best I have ever had (including in France), and my partner really enjoyed her mushroom fettuccine. Will definitely return.
This was a great place to have a dinner for business. Service was attentive without being intrusive and the food was tasteful and well-presented. Price was reasonable for NYC. Only negative was the noise level which made it difficult to hear. Highly recommend.
I’ve passed this place a dozen times and always wanting to check it out. Had a little bit of a family reunion. Maître d’ was very accommodating to give us a bigger table when our group size was increased by one, he even bought us a round of drinks when the wait the larger table wasn’t ready.
Food was excellent service and vibe all great. Only small issue was it’s a really small bar area so there’s not a lot of places to wait for your table.
Dinner at Fig & Olive was delicious as usual. Great food and wine, as well as presentation of the food. Service was great up until the end of the meal where we were waiting 15-20 minutes for the waiter to come take our plates away and bring us the bill. Considering it was a Thursday evening and the restaurant was busy it was understandable, but after the wait we had to pass on dessert.
The only downside to the evening was that we were seated at a table that was very close to two others. My chair was pulled into the table as close as I could get, and an extremely rude man was seated a the table behind us. He proceeded to slam his chair into mine repeatedly in front of the employee who seated them and said "this table sucks". It was no surprise that the classless guy didn't apologize. But no one apologized from the staff which was extremely rude of them as well. Very disappointing. Luckily for me they were moved to another table. Next time I am requesting a booth.
We were a group of 6. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Have dined here before, always delicious. Only wish the chocolate pot de creme was larger for sharing, otherwise perfection. The service was good, not great, but it appeared our waitress might have been covering more tables than normal. She was hustling, so not sure if someone had called out sick.
