Fig and Olive is our "go to" restaurant for entertaining out-of-town guests. This was our first visit to the Meatpacking District location. We found the food to be excellent and suitable for every taste.
Tasty food and lovely jazz trio. we especially enjoyed the wild mushroom rigatoni and the burrata with squash.
Unfortunately it was rather cold in the restaurant and prices are pretty steep.
We had a nice table with a full view of the restaurant and bar. The service was attentive and professional. The noise level was surprisingly good; despite a full restaurant and live music, we were still able to have a conversation. The food choices were good and everything was well plated and tasty. Would recommend for lunch or brunch.
We were 5 people meeting together after museum. We had reservations.
Food was not very good. Our friends were not
That pleased with food. My paella dish was a waste. Dry small one scallop two small clams and 3 dry shrimp on bed of dry squid rice. Prices are not cheap. Not getting value.
Great! Everything was perfect.
We live close by in the neighborhood. It's a favorite. It's always hard to choose what to eat--everything is so yummy. The presentation is beautiful and also ample. And the staff are wonderful. A perfect setting for a truly perfect dining experience.
Food was delicious and our service was great. So thankful it wasn’t noisey at alll. It’s a beautiful restaurant as well.
The food was great and the setting in even better. The waitress was not engaging.
Very gracious staff. We had just left Tao Downtown, which had been a horrific experience because of rudeness and lack of access. I was still upset at how we had been treated, and came to F&O feeling very demeaned from the awful treatment at Tao. In stark contrast, F&O staff were gracious, welcoming, friendly and professional. Food was delicious -I highly recommend the pumpkin/chestnut risotto, which is perfectly seasoned and generously portioned. Totally appreciate the excellent service and again, being made to feel like a welcome guest. Thank you, F&O!
Lovely ambiance. The decor and lighting was perfect. The service was efficient and the food was delicious. It was quiet so you could have a conversation without shouting which is rare.
Better than I expected
I loved our waiter and the food was fantastic. Atmosphere and music great. Get the Crostini!!! My only issue was the person who seated us. Now, we weren't "dressed" so to speak, black jeans , long sleeved casual shirt, and I feel like we were seated away by ourselves, 2 tables away from the band because he was a bit of a snob. Even the waiter asked if we wanted to move. Other than that, really nice place.
Un buon ristorante mediterraneo. Materie prime molto curate
My wife and I celebrated our Wedding Anniversary at Fig and Olive. The service and ambiance helped to make a nice occasion. However, the menu was limited and my Wild Mushroom Rigatoni tasted like store bought chopped raw mushrooms and pasta with little flavor. The only beef option on the menu was the Filet Mignon. I believe there are more cozy neighborhoods in Manhattan in which to have a special dinner. Overall, we were most disappointed in the value received compared to the price paid. We picked the restaurant based on Tripadvisor and the number of reviews. This is the first time I felt the Tripadvisor ranking was overrated.
Excellent lobster ravioli! Good service; nice ambiance.
The restaurant facade was covered in scaffolding, so our first impression was not favorable. Once inside we found a lovely high ceilinged, nicely appointed space. We were there at 5 PM so the restaurant was quite empty. The wait staff was superb with just the right amount of attention, even though they were eating their meal right after we arrived.
We do not eat out much in NYC as we live on Long Island, so the prices were high for our standards and the portions were small. The food however was delicious and perfectly prepared and presented. Two of our party has a glass of wine and the selection was basic; with some helpful guidance from the staff we selected nice wines for our meals.
The food was delicious
Much better this time! Maybe I hit a bad day of staffing my previous experience. This time the service was great and the food once again was stellar.
Our third time here...food's memorably terrific (e.g. the crostini, especially the ricotta and the marcona almond, fig, and cheese). Great dipping bread and oils/vinegars. Well-prepared, attractive, and tasty main courses.
Loud but delicious
Delicious food and great service! Beautiful ambience!
Fig and olive salad had no fig, no olives and no Gorgonzola .. I called afterwards since I didn’t want to complain while I was entertaining friends.. the manager said sorry and offered no other response
Food was great but waiter was fantastic!!!! Made our experience there that much better!
Excellent small plates with nice variety. Good looking place in the meatpacking district. Good service. Foie gras is on the menu. Our party believes that this is cruel and should not be on the menu. This opinion did not receive a very warm reception. Otherwise all was well.
Great food. Terrible service. 20 minutes for a glass of wine. Food came out backwards with the appetizers coming after or warm meal/mains. Love the food and space but Staff was lingering and socializing with each other before actually serving or checking on tables. Only time we saw a waiter was to order and when food was dropped off. For a great place this pricey you’d expect top tier service. It didn’t exist here.
Great overall experience! We went there for brunch and had 6 CROSTINI (surprisingly my favorite was the BURRATA but they were all great), I had the SALMON burger and my +1 the KALE salad. The burger was very good, but the FRIES deserve an international price, they had the perfect level of crunchiness to them (I don’t like them super crunchy). For dessert we had the POT DE CREME (chocolaty greatness) which was also excellent.
We were served by a Brazilian waitress who was extremely nice and patient.
The place is upscale/chic but with a relax feeling to it, a good option if you want to impress someone and also eat well.
This is my favorite Fig and Olive location. I order the same things no matter which location but quality seems to be the best at this location. Therefore, this is my go-to Fig and Olive.
We enjoyed the restaurant. The bruschetta was different from traditional Italian offerings. We had a choice of polenta, zucchini, and a thinner than usual bruschetta, which we chose. The toppings were so delicious!
Service was SLOW. Other than that, great food, nice place.
This is a great place for brunch and conversation, as it's very quiet and your companions will have no trouble hearing one another. The cocktails are excellent and the food is top-notch. Service is a bit slow, but where isn't it slow these days?
Food was great and the place also very nice. But a bit noisy and service good but a bit impersonal.
Eramos un grupo de 11 personas y todo lo que pedimos estuvo excelente! Delicioso de principio a fin.
Server was very attentive and courteous. The food and drinks were excellent. I had appetizers, entrees, & dessert. Presentation of food was excellent. The timing in which food was brought out was perfect. Even the bread that was presented with the 2 oils and balsamic vinegar was delicious. I plan on going back for seconds.
Exceptionally delicious food in a beautiful setting.
Food, service and ambiance were great. There were a couple of times when the servers rushed to clear the dishes without asking when we were still picking at the food, but otherwise it was a nice meal.
Menu thoughtful, creative and delicious!! Service excellent. A little noisy but worth it and love the neighborhood!!
A bit loud at times and busy, but good mediteranian style food with a few surprises in the cocktails. Not over the top but also prices not crazy as so many places in the Meatpacking area.
Ambiance & Service were spot on for a Birthday Celebration. The Crostini appetizers were tasty but lacked
herbs. They needed additional flavor.
Our entrees were tapas sized portions.
The truffle risotto was gloppy & was over powered by truffle oil. My husband ordered salmon added to the risotto - a $12
addition for a 2x2 piece of salmon. My paiella had about 6 tablespoons of rice, 2 larger clams, 2smaller clams, 2shrimp &
1 scallop. It was made with squid ink and was over sauced & lacked herbs. The food needs some refining.
My Moroccan chicken entree was fabulous and had the perfect mix of spices. The chicken breast was very moist which is difficult to achieve in home cooking let alone under harried restaurant cooking conditions. My hat's off to Chef Calderon. We had 6 different crostinis and those were the best in any restaurant I've ever eaten which includes the Top 10 Zagat rated restaurants in NYC. I highly recommend the Meatpacking location.
We loved it and will be back!
