FIG & OLIVE Meatpacking Ratings and Reviews
Came here for a birthday dinner. Made a reservation day-of and was seated promptly upon arrival. The venue is beautiful - especially around the holidays with so many lights. We had the crostini - in order of favorites I recommend the burrata, prosciutto and fig and gorgonzola and apple - all delightful. Took many recommendations on OpenTable and Yelp and got the mushroom croquettes - did not disappoint, the truffle sauce was exquisite. They brought us rosemary bread and three olive oils to try which was a great upgrade to the original bread baskets most restaurants serve. We shared the duck entree with sweet cabbage and fingerling potatoes - unfortunately I have had better duck elsewhere so would opt for a different entree next time. For dessert we got the sampler - i highly recommend because you get to taste pretty much all of them in smaller portions. They took off the dessert for my date's birthday which was so sweet. I give it 3.5/4 stars and will definitely be back!
Had to wait 45 mins+ even though we had a reservation. They did comp our drinks and crostini (very good, highly recommend these) appetizer. I had ordered the roasted chicken, however was informed that they had run out (wha?!?!) and had to go with another option. I tried the funghi penne, which was tasty but in the dry side. Our server was great, very friendly.
Celebrated my Mother’s Birthday. Service was average. We waited for simple things like water refills and coffee. The birthday cake went to the wrong person at our table. Aside from a few of those things the atmosphere was great and the food was delicious. We were not rushed which was also very enjoyable
We went to Fig&Olive Meatpacking to celebrate my birthday. The waiter didn’t care about us at all. During the dinner we ordered two bottles of wine, and he never came to fill our glasses. The food didn’t impressed either. I ordered seabass which costs $39. The fish comes with broccoli which was bitter. How can they not try what they serve to the guests. Cocktails that we ordered were too strong, impossible to drink. Will never go again to their Meatpacking location.
I love this place and tend to visit a couple of time a year. On Sunday afternoon I was there with my sisters, as usual the food was delightful unfortunately the service was very slow. It looked like our waiter was covering way too many tables on her own and at each step of the process we had to struggle to get her attention. The service put a damper on our experience.
while the waitress was nice - a different server did not talk about which appetizer was which, and main dish - the salmon I ordered- was bland and not as good as the same dish I had at the Fig & Olive in midtown - which was why I ordered it. This version was bland ....not great.
just thought the value of the entire meal was off. my guest's meal was also commented as 'just o-k'. I really like Fig and Olive - but the meal was not the best. disappointing. and the service indifferent. overall - not great.
By far one of my most disappointing meals in 8 years of living in NY.
*Waited 30 minutes for our reservation
*seated next to a family with THREE toddlers AND a baby
*waited another 15 minutes for water service
*no bread service offered
*first course served without utensils; another 10 min wait
*a vile bottle of bubbly served with only one juice
*almost all of the food was blah
This meal did not meet my expectations.
This was my second visit to this restaurant, and it fell a couple of notches from my last visit. While the food was excellent, most notably the sea bass, the service was slightly less attentive. Water glasses were slow to be refilled, silverware was removed after appetizer, and not replaced before main course. Most glaringly, the ladies room was in desperate need of attention. Stalls were messy, garbage was overflowing.
My first time at the restaurant picked it based on location and menu on open table. I was pleasantly surprised, it exceeded my expectation. We were running a little late because the area was more congested than expected so parking was hard to find. But they told us to go have a drink at the bar and they will seat us once a table became available. By the time we finished our drink the table was ready. The staff was very accommodating. The drinks were very good and the food was delicious. I will be back.
We had a reservation for 8:30 and they made us wait 35 minutes to be seated. What's the point of a reservation if you have to wait to be seated? They might as well not take any reservations and work on a first come first served basis. The food was good, though. But the overall experience wasn't because of the waiting.
After having to be very forward with hostess we were finally seated 30min after our reservation (we arrived 10min prior to our reservation). Then we sat at our table for 15-20 min before anyone waited on us (didn't even get tap water).
Had a similar experience when we visited for a family dinner. Thought it was a once off experience, but unfortately seems service hasn't improved.
Fun atmosphere, cool vibe, food is average for Manhattan. Nice place for drinks, but won't be back for dinner.
Great spot and one of my go-to restaurants.
What I cannot understand is the amount of people that come into this place on a Saturday night and expect to be sat immediately because they have a reservation.
What are the staff supposed to do-Make the customers that are dining earlier chew faster so you can be seated faster? They are paying the same price you are and are getting a great experience, so you should remember that when you make the reservation. Friday and Saturday nights are busy in ANY restaurant. Your bad comments are silly and make you sound very entitled.
