Food was ok - not worth the money. We also had a really
Obnoxious table next to us which took away from the experience. I likely would not go again. I was not overly impressed.
Love it food amazing and also service
Loved everything about the experience. They handled my food allergy ( celiac) beautifully. We always have a great meal here.
Excellent food and service. Our table was wobbly, but it was quickly remedied. The DJ was fantastic, and the restaurant has a great vibe to it.
Already recommended it to a ton of people. Hands down my favorite restaurant in NYC. Great location, great food, great service. I also really appreciated that they were open on a holiday. Made a holiday for single people bearable. Thank you.
The food was very creative and we enjoyed everything we had. It is a place where you could o just small plates or a full meal. Our server was very knowledgeable and the atmosphere is very nice.
Very poor quality food. Nice space/decor. Busy. But food is disappointing.
Writing the same review I put on Google. The food was great up until it wasn’t...but it was the service that I’ll never forget
I’ve been to this Fig & Olive before and had a really good experience which is why it sucks I have to write this review. Last night my date takes her first bite of a steak (one of the two entrees we’re splitting) and pulls out a hair that’s a mile long. We thought it could’ve been her’s for a second but the hair was wrapped around the steak in a knot. Listen, as disgusting as it was, accidents happen. This next part is what was terrible. Waiter comes over, apologizes and says he’s sending the manager. 15 minutes and the manager never comes. Waiter eventually comes back and says ‘we’re taking the steak off the bill to accommodate you’. I say ‘you mean the steak that we sent back and didn’t reorder?’ He says ‘yes that’s right’. Are you kidding me?? So basically my dinner with my lovely date is ruined with the cook’s hair and to make it up to us is they don’t charge me for the steak that we didn’t have one bite of (except for the hair piece). I’m sorry but both you the waiter and even worse you the coward manager should be embarrassed. I’m not the type to demand more bc we just had an awful experience, it’s up to you to make it right. If this was my establishment I would’ve comped this meal and the next one for a microscopic hope to not lose your patronage, or even worse receive this awful review. I loved Fig & Olive here and in LA up until this point. But shame on you for ruining our night. Hair accidents happen, but what you did or should I say didn’t do to correct it was the awful part.
The evening was fantastic! It started out on the right note with a lovely & accommodating Hostess who sat us in our preferred seating without hesitation. She wanted us happy. Then the staff was on the mark as was our favorite dishes-the Paella and Salmon!
Ps not pressure to rush you out,
Great Evening celebrating my Brothers birthday?
Found this restaurant on Open Table. Out for dinner with a friend. The food was really very good. But, at the prices they charge, the food and experience should be stellar. So I deducted a star for value. If money is no object, you'll have a fine meal. Not the best but not disappointing.
Service was ok though
Beautiful and welcoming venue in the meatpacking area. We went with friends and found the ambiance very pleasant and the food and wine superb!! A great experience
Live music at brunch was amazing.
Food was good - the music was MUCH louder than I expected. I went on a date night with my boyfriend and we had to speak quite loudly even though it was just the two of us. The food was good though! Everything we ordered came out quickly and was tasty.
A bit unrelated - but my boyfriend and I both had like allergy attacks that came out of nowhere while we were there. We both got really congested out of nowhere and my eyes started to itch too. Because of this, we ended up eating quickly and rushing out to grab some antihistamines.
WE WILL RECOMMEND FIG & OLIVE (MEATPACKING TO A FRIEND. HOWEVER, THERE WAS ONE SNAFU DURING DINNER. OUR SERVER (IVANA) POURED A GLASS OF WINE TO ONE OUR OUR GUESTS. WHEN SHE PUT THE BOTTLE BACK ON THE TABLE SHE PLACED IT ON THE UNEVEN SEEM OF TWO TABLES NEXT TO EACH OTHER. THE BOTTLE FELL OVER AND SPILLED ON THE TABLE AND ON TWO OF OUR GUESTS AND THEIR CHAIRS. THE STAFF AND MANAGER WERE QUICK TO CLEAN THIS UP. I THOUGHT A GESTURE OF "SOMETHING COMPLIMENTARY" WOULD HAVE BEEN A NICE TOUCH. OTHER THAN THAT WE HAD A NICE EXPERIENCE.
I loved the restaurant itself. It is so beautifully decorated. The food was very good but I don’t feel that the portions are worth the price. I ordered the paella to split with a friend that was close to $40. We were shocked. The portion could barely feed one person.
I love Fig and Olive! The cauliflower, cocktail shrimp, and sea bass were great. However, the oysters all had little bits of shell in each one which was frustrating as they are a bit pricey.
We had an amazing experience, good food in a warm atmosphere. Precise service and timing!
Excellent experience as always! Ambiance, food, service, drink menu....are all A+. Looking forward to returning again soon, F& Olive does not disappoint. Thanks for a great time
The Sunday Jazz Brunch is a hidden neighborhood gem.
Visiting friends in NYC
The restaurant is very charming and romantic and the meal was excellent.
An excellent overall experience!
Always lovely and food and service are always top notch.
Fog & olive has consistently delicious food, great ambience and excellent service!
Great restaurant. Amazing crostini. The cheesecake was also bomb. I loved the ambiance.
One of the best meals we had in NYC - atmosphere and food were equally enjoyable!
We loved this restaurant. Food was superb and service impeccable, lovely ambience in a beautifully designed space with high ceilings. Also, cocktails were delicious. Not cheap, but worth it.
Great ambiance and service combined with amazing food. This will be a regular when we are in New York.
This is my favorite Fig & Olive location. Food is great and the place has a nice ambiance.
Loved the jazz brunch!
I have enjoyed this place in the past but this time around the food was mediocre. The pork special arrived raw and had to be sent back. The 8oz filet looked more like 4oz and the Parmesan potatoes (which sounded delicious) were hard and undercooked. We were there early (5:45) so perhaps they just weren’t ready for us. Earned 3 stars only because the busboy was great and keeping water glasses full!
We ordered the roast duck and chicken tajine for dinner. The roast duck for divine but the chicken tajine was one of the most unappetizing dish I have ever tasted (completely avoidable).
Wonderful atmosphere and the food was tasty. Great place to take a date.
We had so much fun, dinner was awesome, great athmosphere, nice background music, nice guests, all in all it was a wonderful evening!
Thank you so much, you made this day a perfect ending!
This is by far our go-to fabulous restaurant in NYC! Outstanding food, ambiance, cocktails, wines and service. We celebrated our friend's 41st Anniversary and totally enjoyed the evening. All guests loved their food, drink choices and certainly the desserts. If in NYC, this place is a MUST. Thank you all for a lovely evening!
Great place, Nice food, new and fashion neighbourhood
Always great food and good ambiance - one always finds something for every diet - be it something light or more substantial like the rack of lamb beautifully presented under a "cloche" full of mediterranean aromas. Excellent dish!
My boyfriend and I came here for date night. Overall we had a great experience. We ordered the crostini’s, lobster salad and oysters to start. For entrees we had the Sea-bass and lamb chops with truffle fries. We loved everything except for the lobster salad and the truffle fries. The lobster salad was just chunks of lobster thrown over bib lettuce. It didn’t look very appealing and in my opinion was not worth the price. The truffle fries were also disappointing. They were very salty and covered in oil. However, all of the other items we ordered were delicious!
The service was great! From the moment we walked in we we treated very well. Also the music they played was awesome! We would def return and we recommend. If you do end up going just avoid ordering the lobster salad and the truffle fries.
I had dinner with friends that I had not seen in over 5 years. The food was outstanding and our waiter explained our appetizer selections as well as our entrees. A question arose regarding the olive oil and bread at the beginning. Without batting an eye, it was explained in detail. Very thorough and very professional. All in all, it was a wonderful evening and I would definitely come back as well as recommend the Fig and Olive to anyone interested in fine dining in a laid back atmosphere.
