Fig & Olive - Houston
experiences, including an expansive 160-seat dining room, a 24-seat bar and lounge, two private dining rooms with full state-of-the-art audio-visual components, and a 40-seat al fresco terrace emanating a casual chic ambiance reminiscent of summers spent on the Mediterranean.
Appetizers and entree were good to excellent. Desert was a huge let down and the service disappeared after we ordered... literally ... complete opposite from what I experienced in Newport
It was good - very good actually - but it wasn’t anything that makes you want to come back.
Food & service were good.
Front desk hostess was either distracted, new & did not yet know what she was doing, or else her attitude was bordering on rude- not sure which it was- but it did not start the evening off pleasantly.
Fortunately, our waitress was personable & attentive, so we quickly forgot about the hostess.
Food was good, but menu is definitely limited. This is our 3rd visit to the restaurant in Houston.
We had loved it when we visited in NYC, but the menu changed significantly by the time it came to Houston. I don't know if we will come again.
Girlfriends get together.
Had to remind the waiter for the bread
Overall great food even if a bit pricey
We were not impressed by the visit. We were
First time at this Fig & Olive, I’ve dined at others. Great service, food, and ambiance.
Yes, however I would recommend it for early dinners or late lunches because the noise level can be very high.
Venue, server and food was excellent!
Extremely small portions for what you pay. My sisters salad was very salty and the server said he’d look into it and never did. Worst avocado toast I have ever had on a plain piece of toast with over cooked quail eggs and what tasted like grocery store pre packaged guacamole ($16 for what looked like a side dish). Was $300 for 4 people (about $100 was alcohol) and we all left hungry. Service was actually great just very disappointed with food. Especially since I recommended for my mom’s birthday.
the food was delicious and great variety of options
Service was great; enjoyed all the recommendations by our server Mr Bryan who was kind and knowledgeable.
Lamb chops were perfectly seasoned and yes to the Brussels sprouts.
Great dinner. Cocktails and wine were also fantastic.
I have been itching to try this place and was wondering if it would live up its hype. Here goes nothing. My girlfriends and I were the first ones to arrive so we understood that some things could be delayed but the service here was quite poor. The server we had was inattentive. The food took an unbearably long time to come out and the food was subpar.
Foie Gras (0/5): This is absolutely indigestible. You'd expect it to be seared but it looks like a piece of spam. I would not recommend this dish. To be honest it looks like they pulled this out of a can and just laid it on the dish.
Riviera Salmon (2/5): For $31 it needs more flavor. I can make better salmon than this.
Hamachi Crudo (3/5): Maybe we should stick the Hamachi to sushi restaurants. The sauce they drizzled on top had a funky taste to it.
In my opinion, Fig and Olive is definitely overrated. I'd save your money and go elsewhere for better and cheaper food.
food was disappointing and far to expensive for less than ordinary food
Great place, Loved the ambiance and the food was outstanding.
We'd never been to a Fig & Olive and the mall location didn't seem ideal but the food, the atmosphere and the service were all spectacular. Particularly liked the "Signature Crostini". We picked six of nine options and each one was a unique taste experience
Wonderful food and great service and beautiful setting!
The worst experience ever. This is my third time and the service is always lackluster . Every time I have been there the restaurant has been empty with plenty of people working but no one comes to your table to check on you and the food took forever to come . Love the food but will not be returning . Three chances are more then enough . Very sad
Birthday for my daughter
Great brunch place with live music! :)
Our waitress was amazing, pleasant, professional and quick. We went there for brunch,
I ordered chicken sausage and hash browns , the hash brawn was drenched in oil
. The rest of our order was not any better, overall very disappointed with the food.
Good service, pricy, food quality not worth the money. Don’t dare buy a drink, it will cost you a small fortune for 2/3 glass of sour mix.
Outstanding. The food was wonderful and the service was faultless. Will go again as soon as I’m back in Houston.
I expected more from this Fig and Olive. The service was not that good. The waiter was uninformed and mixed up the entrees. Plus, the restaurant didn't even have limes. I will probably not go here again.
The food was outstanding. Liked that the chef came out and explained our food. Our waiter forgot my side order of mushrooms and immediately fixed and then compt our dessert without me asking. Nice for a romantic night. Will come back.
Food was average and not worth the price point. This location is not comparable to the New York location.
This was a perfect way to celebrate my mom’s birthday with great food and live jazz! The service wasn’t rushed and allowed us to have a moment in the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Thank you Jorge for the great service and wonderful smile. Could not have asked for more!
Great gluten free options!
Jeff was a great waiter and we loved the food! It was busy on a Thursday before Christmas so it did take a long time to get an order placed, but great overall
Several of us went for lunch mid-week and had a very nice lunch. Our server was attentive and helpful when asked for recommendations. I requested a cocktail that, unbeknownst to me is only served on Thursdays (we were there on Wednesday), and the bartender managed to find all the ingredients and made it for me. It was wonderful, by the way, and I highly recommend you try it - The Grinch.
Overall, we all very much enjoyed our meal and I look forward to a return visit for happy hour/dinner.
Delicious dishes, everything we ordered was good. Down side, tables had crumbs & watermarks from previous diners. Rather expensive for such carelessness.
We made reservations and when we arrived there was no one at the door to greet or direct us. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive, but they were understaffed. Food was delicious but small servings. I am not a fan of such close seating and found the place to be not conducive to conversation. I felt like the next tables were too close. All in all, a disappointing experience.
The food is Ok, yet you expect better for this price but the service is really poor, so no surprise that the restaurant is empty for a Saturday evening. We tested it but we will not come back
Service was personal; cocktails unique; perfect late afternoon quiet spot;
Only hitch is that we weren’t checked in properly. One of our guests was left sitting in front for 30 minutes because she was I told I was not there yet.
Didn’t realize this was actually in the Galleria
Much bigger than it looks online
Seated near two quite noisy birthday celebrations
Impression it was used as a “tourist” or “business” restaurant - not a “local”
Will not return
Food was quite good, quite expensive for the quantity but service quite slow
Food is good, ambiance is great , but don’t think the menu is a big deal appetaizer are small the 6 appetizers for $20 are very good delicious but small pieces , overall over price for whay you eat taste and quality wise
Went with friends and had a great dinner ❣️Everything was delicious and service was attentive.
