Ambiance and the food was pleasant, but service was wrong. I understand that it's the holiday season and the restaurant was busy, but there is something wrong with the picture when you feel like you're the one serving the staff while you're paying for the dinner -- at this place, I am the polite one with a kind tone and smiles while the servers are pushy, no smiles, glaring and constantly asking to take your plates away to make you feel uncomfortable and get out (my colleague and I were there for 2 hrs, for a few glasses of wine and a full course meal). Food was fine, but don't expect me to return. I always leave 20-25% gratuity but gave them 18% simply because I have manners, not because they deserved it one bit.
Food was great. The atmosphere was just too loud, my date and I could not even hear each other talk. Not romantic at all.
The Lobster Salad was fantastic and the wine was tasty!!!!!
Overall, food was very good. Fresh, with good choices on menu.
Very busy, but waiters were very attentive.
Noise level was difficult.
So extremely noisy and cramped that it was seriously uncomfortable. Good food. Lousy environment.
The food was good. Our waiter attentive. A lot of groups and parties this particular evening. Noise level was deafening. Women screaming over each other. It wasn’t enjoyable due to the noise. They should have put two people downstairs in the bar area. It was rather quiet. A little more thought in the seating would have been nice. I enjoy this restaurant, but doubt I will go back. Too many in town know how to do both well.
It took forever for the food to come so we packed it all to go. When I got back to my office the chicken Paillarf was dry, rubbery and the salad say wilted.
Yes it is the holiday season but: long line out the door to process reservation (only one guy), tables so close together it was almost impossible to squeeze through, service harried and foregtful ( guys wandering the room with plates looking for diners). Kinda felt more like a busy cafeteria and noise was insane
I have been going to Fig and Olive for years but today was a horrible experience. We waited 15 minutes before anyone came to our table. Someone finally came after I asked for a server. It took forever to get our food and when we did get it was wrong. Also the kitchen staff and waiters were arguing in a completely open space for all customers to see. When I told the waiter how bad of an experience it was his response was, “Its the holidays we are overwhelmed”. Needless to say I will never be going back to Fig and Olive again.
Fig and Olive is a fun, lively place. We were seated upstairs, and while crowded, we did not feel like we were on top of other tables. Our group shared the delicious crostini --definitely get some! Everyone enjoyed their dinner. Salmon was very fresh, cooked perfectly. Nice mid-town restaurant.
We visited the restaurant prior to seeing a show. The location was just a 15 minute walk to the theatre district. The food was fantastic. The crostini selection was a great starting point, then had fabulous entree and dessert. Will be recommending to our friends.
Very bad service, unfriendly staff and arrogant!!! Highly not recommended
Always our first stop upon arriving in NYC.
LOVE IT!!!
After theatre dinner. Overall very good. Nice ambiance with good food!! Friday night so it was really busy, and service was a little slow due to this, and understandable.
Will definitely return.
Great food, quick service. everything was delicious.
Food was over priced but ok. Service was poor
Well prepared and FAST midtown lunch spot - truffle croquettes!
They got us seated shortly after our reservation, but apologized. Food was wonderful and the staff was very nice. Great crostini!
Go early - European personal space - French size tables - excellent staff -great 10/10
We like to have lunch here almost every time we come to New York. It’s great.
We were celebrating a friend’s birthday. They brought her a lovely dessert with a candle. The food is always delicious and the service is great. They really dote on you.
Food drink and service were good but it was incredibly cold and drafty by the kitchen!
Awesome from start to finish! Great food , wonderful service. Can’t wait to go hack
Awesome Thanksgiving Fixed price meal
My friend had a paper bar code within her salad - the burrata and beet root one. Staff was attentive though and replaced her meal. Still... not a good experience. I have been to this restaurant several time and it was the first time.
Our table was close to the kitchen and not the best one...
I wish I could remember our servers name....he was outstanding!!
Love the food but I went on a Sunday night and the floor was dirty.
Our server was great and the food was excellent as always! Thanks for an outstanding experience!
Great experience! Terrific service and amazing cuisine!
Beet salad was good . Bread appetizer was pitiful in quality and quantity . Salmon burger was too thin and too dry ... French fries is a misnomer for the potatoes . Overall , not a satisfying experience.
Great experience with family cekebrating my birthday
Seems like lunch time during the holidays is not the best time - kitchen was a bit rushed and service spread a bit thin.
We were seated on the upper level and my Apple Watch alerted me to the decibel level being over 90 twice in the 70 or so minutes of lunch. Talk about it being energetic though it could be the function of packing in more seats.
Service was a bit rushed, and it took about 30 minutes to get our orders in. I ordered a salmon burger and it arrived a bit soggy though the salmon was done well (cannot say that for the bun).
I have been at this location before and I would come again - though after the holidays.
A good selection on the menu, modern mixed Mediterranean options. Service didn't drop despite how busy it was, price was in the moderate high range, food arrived rather quickly as well. As tradition calls, there was a basket of bread with flavoured Olive oils that was served.
It was a absolute chaos at the front of the restaurant with people waiting for tables for ages. We left without eating as it was going to take forever. Staff were very nonchalant about it and said it New York midtown at lunch time as if we should expect to have to wait for our table for ages. So very poor experience
Took forever to get our table!
Thank you. Benign experience overall
my co-worker and I were quite sick after we ate there. this has never happened before in this location and i love Fig&olive, but this time was just not good. Not good at all. I have been coming there for quite some time. and now I am not sure if I will come back..
Great place. Our waiter was Ignacio. He was excellent.
Mushroom croquettes were terrific. Try the crostini’s too.
Nice ambiance. Steak salad was very good.
Good food and nice environment
It was okay...it’s one of those places you try once
