It was relatively empty due to COVID19 so service was quick and attentive.
Got in just before covid closures and felt bad that restaurant was so empty
Everything fabulous!
What a wonderful way to end the day. Wine and apps were perfect and delish but the Chocolate Obsession took the cake (literally).
Manager of restaurant refused to put paper towels in bathroom in the middle of a disease outbreak, suggests we use the air dryer. Disgusting.
Excellent food choices great ambiance and perfect service to celebrate our golden anniversary!
The noise level in Fig and Olive was deafening! We were seated downstairs in the back of the restaurant and you couldn’t even have a conversation without yelling. I hope they supply their waitstaff with ear plugs because if you had to work in these conditions very long, your hearing would be impaired. That said, the food was good. My husband and I shared several small plates and they were all very tasty. Service was good, although it was difficult hearing what our server had to say. Maybe if we would have been able to eat upstairs, it would have been better but there was a large party up there.
Pre-theater dinner, and we experienced an aggressive up selling waiter. But the food was good and the vibe was lively.
I need to say this.
The waitress was very kind and good.
The women who was supposed to seat me upstairs was rude and actually horrific!!
I am a restaurant person , who is on private lists for reservation!
I have never been treated this way , ever.
I asked to please to be seated in the front area.
You had many many tables open.
I also had a reservation!
She told me NO , you can go downstairs and speak to the
matrede!
My answer was I am not walking all the way down stairs to ask for a table.
She did not care. How do you have people like this working in a upscale restaurant!
I walked downstairs and the women said of course you can sit up front. She then walked me upstairs and seated us.
I eat in your restaurant frequently!!
A bit appalling.
I felt you should hear this from the customer.
She should not be working there.
Really great. I didn’t like our seat. Servers had to reach over to get wine bottles. Happened twice so not terrible. Just don’t sit in front of that wall. Food was really great and so was the Mediterranean mule
Absolutely loved this place! It's not often that I add NYC places to my list to return to - with so many options - but this one is on it. Excellent brunch and I want to come back for dinner asap. So good!
It was our last meal in NYC before the shut down. We stayed at the Omni across the street and always have one meal here. Always good and always fun. This was no exception. Look forward to returning from our home in Virginia. We are native New Yorkers and never away this long. Hope all who dined there that night are safe and well.
Wonderful as always!
We have been frequent patrons. Food not up to past standards. Food was disappointing.
While Fig and Olive is a chain in a couple major cities, the food is creative and authentick. This location is nice, with a comfortable environment and attentive service.
Waitstaff was exceptional. It was a Sunday evening so it was relatively quiet. Food was very good. Portion was fine.
Great service. Food is a bit overpriced.
This is my favorite NYC eatery and it never disappoints!! Beautiful restaurant, nice people and great food and service!!
We were skeptical at first because the reviews were some good and some bad, but wow our expectations were surely surpassed! The food was soooo good. The service was great. The ambiance was fun, lively, slightly trendy feeling. I felt almost like I was back in Italy, it was great.
The food was good but I did not appreciate the waitress who was a bit pushy about our order. She wanted us to order everything at once and we ended up with too much food. They also did not need to rush our order since no one was waiting for our table when we finished as the restaurant was half empty at that time.
The restaurant was very pretty warm inviting the seats were stained though little tired looking and the food was very good
I have been to this restaurant with a group of friends and also a romantic date night with my husband. We had a great time, enjoyed the food and wine, service and time well spent with loved ones.
Visiting college aged daughter
The best part about this place was the way it looks inside. The Indian “manager” at the door wasn’t the nicest person. Maybe he can learn how to speak the right way. Food wasn’t worth value of price other then the cheesecake and crostinis. They’re other location is much better.
Terrible food! Not worth the value!
We had a reservation for 8, waited until 8:45 to get a table... our waiter was awesome and the food was pretty good- I had osso bucco, which was amazing but my boyfriend had the halibut, the fish was dry but the rest of the dish was really good. It was a set menu for Valentine’s Day so it’s hard to perfect. Overall it was a nice evening regardless of the dry halibut and the wait.
It was too expensive for what it was on Valentine’s Day and there were too many tables crammed into the restaurant. I felt like I was in an airplane and the service was really not that great at all. Also they could not get the table at the time of the reservation so it seems they were overbooked
We have enjoyed meals at the Lexington Ave and Fifth Avenue locations. We spent this last Valentine's Day at the Fifth Avenue location and it did not disappoint. The prix-fixe menu was delicious and included a nice variety. We loved our cozy seats next to the window upstairs. Fig & Olive is one of our favorites in NYC!
Lunchtime at 1:00 is a peak time and the room was filled . And noisy . That said , surprisingly my friend and I did not have to scream at each other to be heard because the acoustics are great . I have no other explanation for this .
The lunch was delicious -as usual .
And the price was very reasonable .
This is a terrific place , and I always enjoy going there .
Solid midtown performer
the truffle risotto was AMAZING 😍 and everyone was so nice and attentive. Definitely coming back here! 10000% recommend.
Never disappoints! Love Fig and Olive!!
Love the Price Fix menu!
Everything about this place was lovely. Very authentic and original food expertly prepared and presented. Staff couldn't have been nicer or more professional. The space is very attractive and inviting. We sat upstairs which is much more spacious than expected and a little quieter, but still beautiful. We felt truly transported from the normal hustle bustle of midtown. We will definitely return.
I arrived at 9:51 for a 9:45 reservation (subway delays) and the hostess said “please hurry the kitchen closes in 5 min” I asked why would they let me make a res when the kitchen closes so soon. She said “you’re late “. Really?? 6 min? We sat down. The waiter said “I’m so agitated I’ve been up and down those steps a thousand times”. Hmmmm ok... the food was good and our new waiter (the agitated one literally disappeared) was actually great. Weird experience. Terrible welcome to the restaurant. Too many to choose from in NYC so no reason to go back or recommend. The hostess was not the mostess. At all.
The service was super slow, food was cold, I ordered lemon chicken with potatoes as main and the chicken was hard to chew. It seemed like it’s been reheated. The only saving grace of our three course meal for two was probably the cheesecake at the end. I don’t think I’ll ever be going again.
Good, dependable, not over-priced midtown option.
Great place for business lunch
they were really late and never actually sat us. We had to sit at the bar
We forgot it was restaurant week, which can so often offer a less than ideal suite of a restaurant's normal offerings. But Fig & Olive stepped up to the plate. Two of the three of us were happy noshing on the Fig&Olive salad, the butternut squash soup, the salmon and steak, and of course, delicious desserts. One of us chose instead to choose three of the bruschetta offerings and a salad with chicken. It was all delicious. And, when we were all done, and had paid, and were sitting over empty glasses continuing to chat, it was with the most delightful of manners that the manager asked us to move to the bar so a party of four could have dinner-- with a first drink on him! We appreciated the gracious push on a very busy night and while we did not take him up on his offer, we left smiling and with a promise to return.
Our meals were delicious, the house salad was garden fresh and the figs gave it a taste that was over the top.
FYI: Our dining location for this meal was their restaurant on Lexington Ave and not the Fifth Ave location.
