I have been to this restaurant with a group of friends and also a romantic date night with my husband. We had a great time, enjoyed the food and wine, service and time well spent with loved ones.

The best part about this place was the way it looks inside. The Indian “manager” at the door wasn’t the nicest person. Maybe he can learn how to speak the right way. Food wasn’t worth value of price other then the cheesecake and crostinis. They’re other location is much better.

We had a reservation for 8, waited until 8:45 to get a table... our waiter was awesome and the food was pretty good- I had osso bucco, which was amazing but my boyfriend had the halibut, the fish was dry but the rest of the dish was really good. It was a set menu for Valentine’s Day so it’s hard to perfect. Overall it was a nice evening regardless of the dry halibut and the wait.

It was too expensive for what it was on Valentine’s Day and there were too many tables crammed into the restaurant. I felt like I was in an airplane and the service was really not that great at all. Also they could not get the table at the time of the reservation so it seems they were overbooked

We have enjoyed meals at the Lexington Ave and Fifth Avenue locations. We spent this last Valentine's Day at the Fifth Avenue location and it did not disappoint. The prix-fixe menu was delicious and included a nice variety. We loved our cozy seats next to the window upstairs. Fig & Olive is one of our favorites in NYC!

Lunchtime at 1:00 is a peak time and the room was filled . And noisy . That said , surprisingly my friend and I did not have to scream at each other to be heard because the acoustics are great . I have no other explanation for this .

The lunch was delicious -as usual .

And the price was very reasonable .

This is a terrific place , and I always enjoy going there .

Everything about this place was lovely. Very authentic and original food expertly prepared and presented. Staff couldn't have been nicer or more professional. The space is very attractive and inviting. We sat upstairs which is much more spacious than expected and a little quieter, but still beautiful. We felt truly transported from the normal hustle bustle of midtown. We will definitely return.

I arrived at 9:51 for a 9:45 reservation (subway delays) and the hostess said “please hurry the kitchen closes in 5 min” I asked why would they let me make a res when the kitchen closes so soon. She said “you’re late “. Really?? 6 min? We sat down. The waiter said “I’m so agitated I’ve been up and down those steps a thousand times”. Hmmmm ok... the food was good and our new waiter (the agitated one literally disappeared) was actually great. Weird experience. Terrible welcome to the restaurant. Too many to choose from in NYC so no reason to go back or recommend. The hostess was not the mostess. At all.

The service was super slow, food was cold, I ordered lemon chicken with potatoes as main and the chicken was hard to chew. It seemed like it’s been reheated. The only saving grace of our three course meal for two was probably the cheesecake at the end. I don’t think I’ll ever be going again.

We forgot it was restaurant week, which can so often offer a less than ideal suite of a restaurant's normal offerings. But Fig & Olive stepped up to the plate. Two of the three of us were happy noshing on the Fig&Olive salad, the butternut squash soup, the salmon and steak, and of course, delicious desserts. One of us chose instead to choose three of the bruschetta offerings and a salad with chicken. It was all delicious. And, when we were all done, and had paid, and were sitting over empty glasses continuing to chat, it was with the most delightful of manners that the manager asked us to move to the bar so a party of four could have dinner-- with a first drink on him! We appreciated the gracious push on a very busy night and while we did not take him up on his offer, we left smiling and with a promise to return.

Our meals were delicious, the house salad was garden fresh and the figs gave it a taste that was over the top.

FYI: Our dining location for this meal was their restaurant on Lexington Ave and not the Fifth Ave location.

We like Fig & Olive and eat here quite often when we come to NY for work. Just really wish that the tables are not so close together. Makes it almost uncomfortable and hard to get in and out.

We really enjoyed the Restaurant Week menu! The value was great and the whole experience was lovely. We particularly enjoyed the crostini, the risotto, and the Fig and Walnut Julep. This was our first visit but will not be our last!

Bar service was ridiculously slow. Even when we complained about the length of time our first drinks order took our server said he would make the next order personally and that took forever. I believe restaurants make good margins on drinks so doesn’t make sense.
My duck was practically still quacking on my plate and I like it medium/medium rare, my friends steak he asked for medium rare and it was overcooked.!That was enough for me.

I enjoy Restaurant Week and this was the first place I wanted to treat myself to. The carrot and ginger soup was divine. The fig and olive salad with salmon was de-lish. The brûléed cheesecake was heavenly. The ambiance, the server, music, presentation of the food were absolutely perfect!

This was a birthday lunch and although the food was delicious there were a couple of issues. The piece of salmon added to the restaurant’s name sake salad was tiny. Our main courses came first and the appetizer which was forgotten came 1/2 way through our main course. My risotto was absolutely delicious and my friend’s salad was as well. Desert - chocolate obsession and their pudding was outstanding. I only wish the portion on the pudding was a little bigger. Our waiter made up for the mistakes and our celebrating my birthday by removing the appetizer from the bill along with one of our deserts. It’s a bit noisy and packed with close fitting tables. It was good and I would go again but adjust my timing next time to avoid the crowds.

Sitting at a table for 2 at lunch in the noisy, crowded restaurant is either the easiest way to have a private conversation or the worst. Easiest because no one could eavesdrop due to the noise; worst because you are automatically sharing your talk with the 4 people sitting at the tables jammed in next to you. Go for the food but don't expect to have a comfortable conversation.

We ate hear a year ago and it was wonderful, which was why we returned. I’m sad to say that was not at all the case this time. Apart from the location and decorations, it might as well have been a different restaurant entirely. We were ignored by our waiter, except when he would come by to grab things off our plates or poor water while thrusting his arm inches from my wife’s face. When we asked questions about the menu, as my wife has food allergies, his responses varied from absolutely clueless to casual and careless. It took us nearly 10 minutes to get a dessert menu we had asked to see and an additional 15-20 minutes for the single, small piece of chocolate cake we ordered to finally arrive. The table next to us was so close that they might as well have been a part of our party. The only thing I can figure was that we opted to start with sparkling water rather than wine and because of that were written off as not appearing to be a wealthy enough table. Despite the fact that dinner still cost us over $100. I’ve been recommending this place to friends when they tell me they are coming to the city. I won’t be doing that anymore. Stop making snap judgments about customers based on whether or not they want alcohol immediately upon sitting down.

Too noisy. Impossible to hear anything above the sink. Tables are packed together to Max out the space and the result is a crowded, insanely noisy environment that detracts from the good food and service

The experience was limited. We left after the ride host at the door greeted is with "hi you need to order in three minutes or we cave serve you ". We had not even sat down yet. The restaurant takes reservations until 9p (it was 8:34p)when we arrived so one assumes the kitchen is open at least 30 mins to an hour after that. Everyone in the dining room got the same service and were talking about it and also wanted to leave. I think the amateur staff at the restaurant just assumes everyone is a tourist and they can treat people that way, which is wrong. This restaurant in NO WAY COMPARES to the meat packing location, and it's an embarrassment.
