The service at the recepcion was rude, very unpolite. The asian lady is really not a good person to wellcome you. Food is not so grate and the service is slow. Wouldn’t come back again.
Food was good but not amazingggg. I asked to have the eggs Benedict without ham and they did so but after making me feel like they were doing me a huge favor. The eggs were really poached. They were almost hard boiled. Part of my order was served to someone on the other side of the table. Overall a good experience but not the best I’ve ever had.
We came for an anniversary and it was wonderful! They gave us the table near the window so we only had one party next to us and made it much more quiet. Our server was wonderful and let us stay for 3 hours talking, eating and drinking and didn’t rush us at all. We were greeted with champagne as soon as we sat, which was so thoughtful.
Amazing food! Everthing was great- salmon, chilean sea bass and the lamb chops. We also had the mushroom appetizers and olives. Delicious!
One of my favorite go to places for great food and ambience!
Good food-- their Fig & Olive salad is unique and very tasty and a great lunch with chicken. Nice, attentive service. A bit pricey, but at least food is good. Somewhat noisy, but this was the NYC location at lunchtime.
Always consistently good!
great prefixe menu for lunch. always busy. healthy options
The food was horrible. It was fatty (lots of oil in a sea bass) and not tasty. Chef must be changed. I would not repeat.
Muy lindo, buen servicio y muy rica la comida. Un poco alto el nivel de ruido pero muy bueno de todas formas
Excellent food and ambiance. Perfect lunch spot. Shrimp and Salmon salad is delicious as is the Burrata with Squash.
Have been here many times and usually love it. Never received bread or olive oils this time. Fig and Olive salad with grilled chicken was just good, not great (as I remembered from previous occasions). Service was otherwise good.
We booked on Open Table about 20 minutes before our lunch. Arrived at 11:30 to a mostly empty restaurant. The Manager was on her cell phone and the hostess took us to a table in the back next to the service alcove and kitchen. When I went back to the hostess station, the manager was still on her cell phone and the hostess never said a word but did change our table.
We had a nice lunch there and were able to enjoy a nice conversation even above our loud neighbors. Would return again. Thank you, Fig and Olive.
Superb food and ambiance.
AMAZING! We loved it!! Super recommended
Very good food and everything else. Unfortunately the hostess was not so polite or friendly.
We visit New York at least twice a year and wanted to try something different. Fig and Olive offers a wide Mediterranean menu, from French to Tapas to Middle Eastern. We especially enjoyed the Bruschetta, which was very much like tapas we had in Spain. Highly recommended!
I wasn’t sure what to expect however was truely surprise by the entire experience- from ease of reservation to ambiance to the service and food selection/quality.
I am sure it was an "off" night due to one or two servers not able to make it to work (illness, family, accident)...but that aside...it would seem as if others would have to "step up" and do a little extra. we even had to ask for water glasses...and then ask again for them to be filled. Their seemed to be a complete lack of coordination between the waiters and those "assisting" them. One assistant obsessively rearranged the place settings on a table for 6...but during the 1 1/2 we were there ...no one ever sat at that table! the restaurant was busy ...but not to capacity. When there was service...it was not with a smile or …"sorry, for the wait" ...etc. The food was very good...not amazing...but very good! As I said...I am sure it was just an "off" night for whatever reasons...but never got the feeling that they were happy that we were there!
Good experienced and going back soon.
Thanks the manager Yoly by care us !!
We chose Fig and Olive for Sunday brunch after mass at St Patrick’s. Very convenient location: walk from Grand Central Station, Central Park, 5th Avenue.
Service was prompt and courteous.
Waiter even took our picture.
Food was very nice: breakfast omelette, chicken/cranberry salad, shrimp/ salmon salad. After brunch coffee arrived promptly; we did not feel rushed although I am sure there was a waiting line.
Reservations a must. Delightful gathering of cousins was surely enhanced by Fig and Olive.
The branzino was well prepared and reasonably priced. The staff was top notch.
Fig & Olive seems to be resting on it's laurels a bit. We make a point to eat here everytime we visit New York, but our latest experience was disappointing. The usual attention to detail was lacking and the service was just ok. We had to ask for water refills and the bread/olive oil was not delivered until the middle of the meal. They have and can do better.
My friends and I would never go back...
Vlad was our server and he was horrific. Very inattentive and when he was there was dismissive.
I asked for a taste of 2 diff wines and he said “it will take about 5 to 7 minutes to get them” to which I responded “well, I’d like to order a bottle and I am not familiar with your wines”.
He brought the tastes and said “it’s Saturday and if everyone ordered a taste of wine it would be impossible”. Seriously?!?!
We ordered the cheese platter and when it arrived no one told us what the cheeses were - we had to guess what was what.
Very little attention from the wait staff during our meal.
And food game very quickly - rushed.
My friends and I shared a Chilean sea bass and lobster ravioli. Sea bass was nothing special and the lobster was not bad.
We ordered coffee, tea and espresso and a Amaretto di Saronno neat (to add to our drinks). Vlad came back to indicate they were out of di Saronno so we asked if they had any other amaretto. He came back with our hot drinks fairly quickly Waiter came back after about 5 minutes and said they DID have di Saronno and someone was going to the basement to get it. 10 min later (our drinks are now cold) he comes back saying they were wrong they didn’t have it and the bartender suggested this other brown liquid as a replacement. It was awful.
Dessert Pot du creme was delicious.
We came earlier than our reservation and managed to get seated almost immediately! And within minutes of ordering, we already had gotten our lunch. Overall, amazing experience! Would come back!
I recently put together a surprise birthday lunch at this location for my wife. We really enjoyed the energy in the room. I noticed other people were also really enjoying themselves with friends and family. The menu provided enough choices to meet the requests of the people at our table. The food came out in a good amount of time and tasted as good as it looked. We did have a small problem with one of the drinks but it was remedied quickly. It was overall a great experience and I look forward to coming back again. In the end, the most important part was my wife really enjoyed her time with family and friends.
It was alright we expected a lot more. The choose your three items from the appetizers was good. We all got brunch dishes it was fine to meah. Nothing in the main dishes was amazing. The service was good and location was convenient to Rockefeller or Central Park.
Had higher expectations of this place- unfortunately it was just okay.
Loved this restaurant. The food and service were spot on. So many great menu choices!
Love it, great food, great ambiance, great at all
The waiting area is like being on the subway. Plus the restaurant is disorganized calling people for the tables. Wait a disappointment especially as compared to the Westchester location.
Food is always amazing. It can be a bit loud making it tough to hear the people you're dining with.
V good food. Service reflects busy time - not particularly attentive. Noisy at lunch.
Great service! Amazing food will be back soon
love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The potato-leek soup was amazing and the Bibb lettuce salad was refreshing. The table was split on the monkfish – one person thought it was great, but another felt that the tastes didn't quite mesh. Everyone loved the flat iron steak. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."
Creative Crostini combinations, amazing lamb chops and delicious desserts. Staff was very friendly. Decor attractive with great vibe and energy.
Overpriced but decent food and good options for various types of eaters. Service is just OK—not really worth the cost. Food is consistent. Great for out of towners, or bringing parents for a casual lunch in midtown
This was my first time at Fig and Olive, and I was thoroughly impressed. From the welcoming hostess to the attentive wait staff, the dining experience was a pleasure. Food was excellent! And even though we sat right next to two other tables, my daughter-in-law and I had no trouble chatting and hearing each other. Quite frankly, I was rather oblivious to the people around us, and I attribute that to, among other things, a wait stuff that kept our table cleared, replenished drinks and the yummy bread and oil tray without our ever having to wonder if we were being attended to or not!! It was a pleasure! 😊
Overpriced for mediocre quality food. Didn't get the kind of service I normally expect at Fig and Olive Meatpacking. Food was very average. Chicken was over cooked in my salad.
