The preset Restaurant week menu was limited, but everything we had was amazing. It was a great experience and the service was on point. Over all, it’s everything you expect from a restaurant like this.
Generous portions. Attentive service. Loud but can still hold a conversation. Decent wine list but a bit overpriced.enjoyed the experience.
Fig & Olive is always amazing, but this time I went a little crazy and invited a family with two children, one very young. They accommodated all 7 of us in time to get to the theater, and we didn’t feel rushed. Accommodating the food “proclivities” of kiddo’s on top of it all? Priceless!
Went for anniversary dinner. I had high hopes, even after reading the reviews. Well, the other reviews were, unfortunately, on point. The food was mediocre and the service was lacking. I had ordered the Sea Bass with a side of asparagus. Never received the side. The Sea Bass was okay; it came with some dry and chewy broccoli. After ordering the waiter never came back to check on us until after we were done. When I made the reservation via Open Table, I had indicated that it was an anniversary dinner. We were seated on time and did receive complementary dessert and champagne (thus the one extra star). That was the only highlight of the meal. CAUTION: the “suggested tips” on the final bill do not add up (even when taking into consideration the complementary dessert and champagne). Do the math before relying on their suggestions.
The restaurants participation in restaurant week allowed us to enjoy several great dishes and a wonderful dessert.
I would definitely visit the restaurant again, it was a great dining experience
My pasta is good. But my friend’s chicken and salmon are way below the expectation. But the price is not high though... just feel a little disappointed.
Underwhelming experience. Expected better given the reviews. Ordered the rack of lamb med rare but it came out med well to well done. Pasta with mushroom was ordered with chicken add on which they forgot to bring out. Waiter said he would take it off the bill but didn’t remember to.
My husband ordered from the prix fixe menu and I from the regular menu. We shared our dishes. We loved the roasted cauliflower and the fig and olive salad (big enough for two). The paella Noir was good and plated nicely. My husband thought the Moroccan Free Range Chicken was OK. We loved the Berry Crostini. The service was excellent. Next time we will try the plates to share.
We went here for our Anniversary. The manager was wonderful and gave us 2 glasses of complimentary sparkling wine. The waiter was very attentive and we got a seat next to the window. Food was good and overall experience was great!! This was during restaurant week. Totally worth the price!
Great food and service. Server was very knowledgeable and friendly.
Good friendly service, good food, offers BYOW, Excellent Location, was full but not noisy
Good location, great ambience, a Somali we who knows about wine, service that was well done and not too overt. Food and wine selection for everyone...
We came here to celebrate a birthday during Restaurant Week. We were seated upstairs, above the long bar. Although it got loud when every table was full, we could still chat & hear each other, while we enjoyed a bottle of Prosecco. We enjoyed the croquette tasting; burrata & tomato (the best one) & gazpacho. We ordered the lobster-filled ravioli which was very good with a little spiciness & a good-sized portion of Moroccan chicken, as well as the branzino a la carte. All the food was seasoned, prepared & plated well. Sorbet was refreshing; the Pot de creme, rich; delicious crostini, with handmade shortbread & fresh berries. Our waitress Stephanie & the entire wait staff were attentive. The room is decorated with a lovely large bouquet as well many fragrant rosemary plants. Great dining experience! Highly recommend.
Great food and drinks. Service was good. Great atmosphere and the bathrooms ate immaculate! Highly recommend!
Portions too small
Really enjoyed the atmosphere as well as the great service and food
Loyal enthusiast of Fig, but has been a bit been better at other times. Was too loud to even talk at times (and on a Wed night), had to wait a while even with a reservation, everything was a tad bit slow, drinks were ok this time... And all that's fine by me if the food is as great as it usually is. But it was ok, not the fantastic food I've come to expect from Fig over the last several several years.
Too Noisy but not the worst. Food was thoughtfully prepared and innovative.
Great food and service but the first floor was definitely warmer than expected. They need a better AC unit down there.
Food and service was just OK. We ordered the Restaurant Prix Fix, the short rib was dry and tasteless as well as the sides. We also ordered some appetizers not on the Prix Fix which were just OK. Service was good, nothing special. The worst part of the dinner was the coffee. I ordered an expresso, it was sour tasting. My friend ordered a cappuccino and that had a funny taste. We did return the coffee and went to a coffee shop. Overall I was disappointed, heard that the food was good here. Not what I found. Will not go back.
Probably one of the worst experiences. The food took forever, appetizers came at different times, and we were overcharged by $100.
Always dine here when we are in NYC. Love the vegetable heavy options. Perfect for getting together with friends!
I feel that this restaurant thrives because of it's location. Food was just okay. The side salad with my sandwich was absolutely inedible, wet wilted greens and too much dressing. Chicken was dry, overcooked and potatoes were warm at best. A huge portion that took up the plate, and not in a presentable way. My dining companion had the salmon and shrimp which was a smaller portion nicely presented in a low bowl.
Just a so so meal.
Way too hot. My clients were outraged. Will not be coming back. Invest in some serious AC.
It was way too loud tonhave a conversation especially for business
They need sound padding in ceiling
Excelente lugar, servicio impecable, comida deliciosa, ambiente muy bien. Volvería feliz!
Everything was absolutely incredible. The food....well no words to describe how great it was. The only reason I put 4 stars for service was because there was a slightly unpleasant moment where the waiter cursed out one of the busboys right next to us, which was both unpleasant and unprofessional with people being around. But otherwise great experience!
Everything was very good, wine, food, service. Did Restaurant Week menu. Only problem was it was very hot in the upstairs.
A friend and I dined at dinner time during Restaurant Week. We loved the food which was really delicious.
Imaginative flavors and ingredient combinations made the meal special. I loved the Roasted Cauliflower, Riviera Salmon and dessert Crostini. The wait staff was pleasant and did their best to keep orders moving on a busy night. We will definitely come back to this wonderful restaurant.
Best Restaurant Week Lunch I've had in years (I've been participating almost every season since summer 2009). I can't wait to return!
Came during Summer Restaurant Week to celebrate my partner's birthday. The entire tasting menu was incredible up to down and the service was amazing. I had a delectable salmon dish with so much flavor, gazpacho and their chocolate dessert. My partner had an equally tasty roasted cauliflower, lobster ravioli and the sorbet. Not a crumb left on our plates. It was so so good. The restaurant did feel a little crowded , its Midtown Manhattan so I wasn't surprised. It didn't bother me too much. I could still hear across the table without shouting. There was such a lovely ambience. They stuck with the Mediterranean theme all the way. I will definitely be back and have already recommended to friends looking for a lovely special dinner.
We don’t live in NYC, so this is the fanciest as it gets for us and it was so worth it. We just don’t have restaurants that have this kind of food where we live. We had a very attentive waiter and it was just such a delight.
Although the food was fairly good tasting, for the price it could have been better. The various dishes that were ordered were good, but nothing really special. Several people in my party got the lamb burger and noted that it was slightly overcooked. Overall food wise it was just good at best, when you add the price to the equation it doesn't feel really worth it. But, I would recommend that people try the place out so they can have their own opinions.
My wife has food allergies and I found your staff dismissive and arrogant . No interest in accommodating us. Very poor training.
Great restaurant week menu
Our waitress got off work during our meal and didn’t bother letting us know. No one came by to check on us. We waited at least 30 mins after our meal was done before some one checked on us and brought us our desert. It kinda put a damper on the night because we love dining here.
Delicious! We had a great time
Food was good as usual, but service could have been better. The waiter was rushing us to order, interrupted multiple times to ask how things were and rush the check as well. I usually go to the one near Chelsea Peirs; more causual atmosphere and more tables. I would recommend that location over the 5th Ave restaurant.
My husband and I chose two selections from the Restaurant Week Pefix Menu ( salmon and short rib beef). Both were vey tasty but small portions ( the side vegetables were sparse and strange. Overall the meal was good not outstanding.
Food exceeded our expectation. Service however was horrible. Waiter was passive aggressive. We went as a party of 10 for a business dinner, by the time we asked for the check, which was around 2.5 hours since we sit down, the waiter said “I thought you will never ask for that”, insinuating we stayed for too long maybe? It was unprofessional. For the restaurant management, if you ever read this, we went in Friday Aug 3 with reservation at. 5:45PM FYI. Overall, recommend the food, the ambience, not the waiter.
