My little one’s birthday
Fig and Olive is not only aesthetically stunning but also delicious! We ended up here on a whim and they accomodated 4 adults and 2 kiddos without issue. The food is so fresh and delicious and our waiter was very professional and attentive. I certainly would come back again!
Very elegant place and dishes are so tasty. One of the best in DC.
My pervious experiences were good so I decided to try this place again for the restaurant week. Restaurant week course menu was a disappointment. I didn’t like the taste of main salmon dish, but salmon was cooked well. I recommend getting their regular menu.
Restaurant Week Chicken dish-- was not tasty -- bland, very disappointing for a restaurant of this caliber.
The restaurant week menu was disappointing this time around. The chicken on my salad was hard and tough.
Just a bit too loud, but everything else was wonderful.
We came for restaurant week. The chicken that we had was extremely dry. We thought maybe it was precooked and had been sitting around. Neither of us could eat it. However, we didn’t want to bring attention to ourselves so we just had it packed up.
Did not like the choices
We loved the ambiance, food, and it's presentation! It's a great place for smaller parties/more intimate meals!
The salmon was undercooked and made me sick. The wait staff was incredibly rushed and it was obvious that they were trying to get us in and out as quickly as possible.
Food , service excellent!
The ambience, overall design, layout, and features are beautiful (along with the great location in City Center). Also, there were variety of delicious dishes that were elegantly presented. Service was great (well staffed, even during a busy lunch period with events going on). Overall, it's a great restaurant and I highly recommend.
I went for restaurant week and was not impressed by the food. The place is beautiful and the service was outstanding, but the food was just ok.
Sophisticated food... interesting flavors. Good service. Friendly. Like eating in my own living room. Will go again & again. Careful - blood orange olive oil is HOT.
Not the quality that was expected. Mushroom croquettes did not have mushrooms. Carrot ginger soup was room temperature lemon chicken did not have a lemon flavor and salmon was ok but not memorable
This was restaurant week but verified food was on regular menu.
I've been to Fig and Olive twice with girlfriends. Both times the food was excellent. While the service was good I would not necessarily call it attentive. The mixed drinks were ok and expensive.
Everything was perfect. Highly recommended and will be going back!
Above and beyond service. Delicious food. Loved being able to try three olive oils
Lovely experience as always. Celebrated an anniversary and the service was excellent. My wife loved her dish, which is always what matters most.
It was great to go to brunch to welcome 2020 in!
Terrible New Year’s Eve experience - bland food for pre-fixe menu, slow bar service, inattentive wait staff, and overpriced.
While the sea bass was excellent, the prices at this place do not match the quality. An unremarkable paté of foie gras (not actual foie gras) was $33. And that turned out to be the cheapest thing we ordered. We didn't know in advance because obnoxiously the prices were not listed on the menu We thought, "how bad could it be?" Well, pretty bad it turns out. We left feeling we had been taken advantage of after forking out $300 for a dinner for two.
It was NYE and the menu was extremely abbreviated
I love this place, but service and food were disappointing this time. We will be back but........
La comida excelente, el servicio deja mucho que desear
Crostinis and apple tart were very good but the main dishes were very disappointed.
Perfect upscale casual dining. The atmosphere and decor are to die for. Flavors of the food are delicious.
Great birthday dinner with a free dessert!
Great place for a special occasion. Love this place!
Always an enjoyable, comfortable time. We love sitting in the front lounging section-quiet & just a wonderful atmosphere.
Mediocre food at a nice location
The food, while good was not extraordinary. However the prices were. We (two people) shared two appetizers, one salad and a dessert. We also each had a glass of wine. The price for lunch was over 110.00. Personally, I though the price value was not there. The zucchini carpaccio was very ordinary but I did like the different Tuna nicoise.. also, portions were small but that is ok.
The restaurant is very pretty and seating is wonderful. However, in an area where there are many options, I will likely try elsewhere next time.
As excited as I was to finally eat here, it was honestly a bit disappointing. Six of us dined for a birthday dinner on a Sunday evening.
The main level of the restaurant seemed fun and vibrant and updated. We were seated upstairs, walking through several dining rooms to be seated. As we walked through, there were numerous uncleared tables that were a mess, clearly where kids had been at the tables. The dining room we were seated in had a large group with kids and another large uncleared table with stuff all over it and some food on the floor.
The table near us with kids was noisy with several of the kids playing video games, listening to stuff on ipads, etc. I TOTALLY get trying to entertain kids at the table but perhaps all adult parties could be seated in a different room. There were other tables available but we didn’t notice the noice until we were having drinks and not worth whining about.
The food was mediocre and they ran out of bread, but our waiter eventually “found some for us” so we enjoyed the wonderful bread and olive oil.
The chairs were torn up and really worn and the entire upstairs just looked disheveled and very worn.
Perhaps it just doesn’t shine like it used to and the ambiance did not make up for the mediocre food.
The meal cost WAY more than the value we received that evening.
Service was a discombobulated and slow disaster
Great restaurants in NYC and DC. Love their food
My friend was in town from NJ and I wanted to go somewhere nice with great food and reviews. We decided on Fig and Olive and was happy to be in City Center around the holidays. The area was decorated so pretty for Christmas. The whole restaurant is really nice and cozy whether you sit downstairs or upstairs. We were sat upstairs in a cozy corner. We ordered a salad and app, two entrees. Everything was delicious. Our server was great and friendly, the whole staff very accommodating. I will definitely go back to try more items. I really liked the bar area too.
