We had a wonderful meal at Fig and Olive DC. We started with the crostini - a selection of 3. The forest mushroom with truffle and artichoke was our favorite. My partner had the paella and I have the bouillabaisse. Both were prepared with a stunning presentation with flavor to match the appearance. A must visit restaurant when in DC!
The food was great except for the steak
Was disappointed to be seated right next to the service station at 6:00 pm in an empty restaurant. Workers talked loudly the entire time we were there. Had an amazing experience there in December. This time service was still excellent but food was barely mediocre. Boulliabaise was over salty with about four ounces of broth. Paella was gummy. Very disappointed. Have heard food is off and on. Bar scene is great and lively. Very loud when crowded.
Great restaurant however service was poor and felt like we were being rushed
The downstairs bar/lounge area is light-filled and comfortable—like your own living room, but much nicer and with great food and a pleasant staff. Highly recommend.
Food was tasty, but original salad came out without any toppings. Took a few minutes to get our servers attention, but he happily replaced our salad when we did. Overall good food, a bit pricy, and suggest they add another server upstairs because there was only one and he was doing his best during a super busy lunch rush.
Great place to dine for any occasion
Jarif the manager swooped in and saved the day! He is quite excellent and elevated our experience!
Good brunch choices, decent service, nice natural lighting during day
My husband and I had a great experience. Our waiter was attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu. The recommendations did not disappoint for the brunch menu. The only concern that we had was when the hostess took too long to seat us, couldn’t find our open table reservation, even after I pulled it up on my phone, and then sat us at a table that had crumbs still in the seat. The ambiance and the fixtures are nice, something you would find at the furniture store RH ( in Tysons- our favorite), yet, there was dust everywhere, in reference to the location of the bottles at the bar, and the ceiling lamps ( that were beautiful, but heavily dusty). In essence of the intricacies, the waiter we had was great with the service, the jazz playing during the brunch was amazing and the Crostini’s were still really delicious. I would still recommend this place, but suggest some up keeping on the housekeeping, along with the women’s restroom. WE would probably try it again if these items were taken care of.
Celebration of buying my sister’s wedding dress at our favorite restaurant in DC!
Wonderful experience as always! Food and atmosphere were amazing. Service was top notch!
Fabulous restaurants’!! Beautiful. Delicious. Excellent service. Loved it.,
Never disappoints!
AMAZING!!!!
Fig & Olive made a very special lunch and surprise desert for my friend's birthday. Always delicious!
Disappointing experience. We ordered the bruschetta appetizer which is very expensive and totally not worth it. It was delivered by accident to the table next to us. Our server noticed and comp ‘d that table but charged us for ours which we then had to wait longer for. We ordered salads- there were 3 of us. We had an inexpensive bottle of wine. Our bill came to $200. Totally overpriced and so not worth the $$.
The ambiance was warm and inviting and the menu offered lots of options for a vegetarian.
Great food, ambiance, and service. Brought my wife here for brunch as we celebrated another year of marriage. Only thing that bothered us was that another patron brought their dog to brunch and was seated near us. Other than that, we really enjoyed our time here.
Hello! Thank you so much for your feedback. We're ecstatic you chose our restaurant to celebrate your marriage anniversary! We do accommodate guests with service animal needs and hope that this didn't detract too much from your overall experience. Kind regards, FIG & OLIVE DC
Great experience. Their Signature“Fig and Olive” Salad. Tasty but Very skimpy on figs and apples. If done properly, it would have been wonderful.
Food good. Service obligatory. Ambiance intimidating. Skip. Go to Modena. NOTE: A representative of the restaurant reached out to me after I left this review. I plan to give it another try. You should try it, too. Perhaps we will all have a different experience next time.
Been here in a number of occasions
Consistently above average
Food is delicious, presentation wonderful, service wonderful.
We were there for the prefix dinner on Valentine’s Day! We were at the bar, when they said our tables were ready. They made us wait and carry our drinks from the bar downstairs to our seating area upstairs. The guy who took the coats from us was slow and made us wait for a good 5 min hanging it on the stand while we were standing with drinks in our hands, waiting to be seated. He took us all the way to one end and said sorry, but looks like someone else is seated there. He then found a spot quickly for us. We never got the red rose that all other tables had. The drinks were below average. We complained about our experience to our server Sufa who was taking care of us. He immediately brought it to Sophie - the office manager’s attention. She was very sweet and attentive towards us. She took off the drinks that we did not like and got us some drinks made. They were good. She apologized and ensured we had a pleasant experience. Thumbs up 👍🏻 for them to try and make up for our experience. Food was okay. I expected it to be better based on the reviews I read online.
Valentines Day was amazing
The food is always amazing. Always a great combination of flavors.
Great food and atmosphere, service was also awesome
Came here for valentines prefix dinner and pairings. Ambiance was great and our waiter was respectful. However, we were rushed the whole time. Even our waiter apologized when other staff would bring out food/wine. Could barely enjoy the food or drinks because halfway through the dish, the next set would be coming out. Next thing we know, we’re practically chugging down the wine & food to make room and not really enjoying the experience. I would consider maybe coming back but my date said it’s a hard NO.
The food was clearly prepared ahead of time. Filet Mignon was clearly cooked earlier in the day and pre cut in half so it was completely dry when it arrived.
The halibut was overcooked and nearly a hockey puck.
Oysters were not washed and very gritty and sandy.
Wonderful service
Our party had a great time at Fig and Olive. My sister was visiting from Wisconsin with work colleagues from Tucson and Las Vegas. They arrived before me and had a comfortable seat in the lounge. Our server was so helpful with the menu suggestions. We had a variety of the crostini, truffle croquettes, and drinks, and then shared the whole branzino, truffle rissoto, mashed potatoes and spinach with figs. Everyone left with a wonderful impression of the restaurant and I was proud to have chosen it. Our server even chose the pot du creme and cheesecake for us to share with cookies for dessert.
Fabulous! The meal, the wine, the service, the ambiance. Everything was fabulous as always here!
Delightful
Danea was amazing and made excellent suggestions. We loved the food and our experience!
Fig and Olive is a lovely place to chat and dine. The staff and service were on point and appropriately attentive. We loved the bread and olive oil--delicious and the cheese platter, while overpriced was a delight.
Our entrees arrived cold, but were still relatively enjoyable. This happenstance was a bit confounding as the restaurant wasn't remotely crowed.
There was also an issue with our OpenTable reservation, while I had the confirmation number--it didn't appear on the restaurant's computer and after a bit of discussion, we were seated.
Would I recommend Fig and Olive? Absolutely- but with the proviso that despite the ambience and lovely waitstaff -- the food might miss the mark and reservations may be lost.
I like Fig & Olive. Their dishes are light and tasty and I can always find something on the menu. The service leaves something to be desired. Refilling water and coffee was non-existent (we had to ask multiple times for each refill), getting someone to take our order and then our check took longer than expected (and they weren't that busy). Even just waiting for someone to clean the table before we could sit down took an inordinate amount of time, despite multiple staff walking back and forth past the table. I do like F&O's food, but I think it will be a while before I go back based on my last experience there.
Second time going here only because someone else picked this place today. Caveat is that I’m gluten free and used to working around menus. That said for a menu of salads, soup and the like, I had two options: a $15 bowl of soup (w/o the croutons) or a $25 salad. Ridiculous prices for pedestrian
Wonderful meal and excellent service😊after experiencing a great evening we booked our rehearsal dinner there. Yes, a little expensive but well worth it. We don’t have to do a thing!!
Fig and Olive is a beautiful space with good service. The food is beautifully presented as well. But when eating the food, it basically tasted average. Not bad, but nothing special either. I would have expected better for a high-end restaurant.
Bathroom needs a refresh
The Chilean seabass was delicious and the cocktails were well-crafted and tasty
