The server — I forget his name unfortunately — was efficient and attentive. The food was excellent. It was my anniversary and we were seated in a more quiet section of the restaurant, on a Saturday night that was really hopping. What can I say? It was a truly memorable night.
Forgot my entree and an order of fries. They brought me a house salad while waiting. Got my entree with egg shells in the sauce.
Must eat restaurant if you are in Washington DC!
Great place. Great food and atmosphere.
Great food and dining experience
We enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner
The crostini platter was really good but the entree salads that followed were mediocre. I ordered the lobster salad and it had almost no flavor. My husband was also disappointed in his chicken salad.
Absolutely great restaurant. The food is fantastic, it's super cozy, and the service is excellent. What else do you need?
We had enjoyed our first time at Fig and Olive and decided to take friends for dinner. We were most disappointed. Service is definitely lacking and food was not hot. Not the kind of service you would expect from this restaurant.
we really like this place. great surrounding, nice food and very nice staff ;-)
Food was OK it was mostly bland no seasoning SAD!
Amazing meal, wonderful staff, beautiful surroundings, a perfect night, thank you!
The forest mushroom crostini was fresh and delicious, as was the carrot and ginger soup. Service slowed considerably after meals were delivered - water glasses were refilled often, but the server was inattentive.
"energetic" on the previous page means "too loud." you really did not provide an option to describe the noise level honestly.
Good location in the District, great restaurant layout, good food. Neither of our orders came out as requested.
Beautiful place always a go to resto
Every dish was carefully prepared and served. The freshness of the ingredients came thru during every bite. Great wine selection. Must visit restaurant
Ambience and seating were lovely - upholstered chairs and couches at each table with sumptuous pillows that invite you to linger. The food was equally sumptuous with the items I tried: complimentary savory flight of olive oils, samplings of crostini and a delicious beet and burrata salad. Wish I had been with a group to sample even more items. Fig and Olive would be a lovely place for a special occasion or date.
Excellent quality Mediterranean food, great tasting, very nice wine list, excellent service and ambiance! I will definitively return and recommend to friends!
Love the Fig & Olive in NY. DC needs to step up their game. Service was sub par. Burger was overdone and no one around to bring me the necessary condiments until my food got cold. Bartender needs to speak up so you can actually hear him talking to you.
Repeat visit. Great food and service. The tastes are all fresh and diverse. The beet salad was great.
We had a great time at this restaurant. Super friendly staff that just kept getting better as the night went on. We had a delicious meal and a great bottle of wine. The ambiance is very cozy. The manager came by for a chat and that meant a lot to us. Our server was on point in all aspects of her performance of her duties. She gave great recommendations which we followed. Very pleased with the outcome of the evening. My wife had lunch there earlier in the day and insisted that we go there for dinner that evening. That is how good this place is. We will absolutely return on our next visit to DC. It is a top five destination for us now. Thanks for a great evening.
No complaints about the food, but the service put a slight damper on our date. We got there at 5:00 on Columbus Day (so a holiday weekend to some, but not to others) and the restaurant was about 1/3 full. Not to mention we had 5:30 reservations so we arrived earlier than scheduled. None of this mattered though as they were seemingly trying to flip this table like it was 8:00 on Saturday night. Our entrees came out alarmingly soon after our apps and our waiter just acted in a curt manner that felt like he was hurrying us along. To reiterate, the restaurant was about 2/3 full when we left, so no need to rush. I'll freely admit the food was great, just hope someone who goes here has better service than we did.
Sunday brunch included live Jazz music and typically excellent food and cocktail choices. Wines by the glass are over-priced, but everything else was great!
This is my second time at Fig and Olive. Unfortunately, the service was as terrible this time as it was my first. We were constantly having to flag down our server. One of our orders was wrong and the item missing wasn’t brought out until the entree was completely finished. This place is beautiful and has so much potential but I don’t think I will be back.
Ambiance and food were great, some portions could have been a bit bigger for the price but overall quality of food was great. Great place for a special date night
Celebrated a friend's birthday at Fig & Olive. We had an excellent server who provided great recommendations. We enjoyed our cocktails and several courses of food. Since it was her birthday, she was able to choose a dessert that they provided complimentary. Overall, we were very pleased with the meal. It didn't come cheap. I expected it to be pricey and it was. I think it might have been a little over-priced for a few things. It was a special occasion and I'm glad we dined there. I would return for another special occasion.
It was a very nice evening. The wine steward did a great job helping us with our selection.
Came here for Sunday brunch. Elegant interior, very nice dishes, attentive, courteous service. Nice experience
Pleasant outdoor seating but the meal was disappointing. The Tajine was overcooked, flavorless, and served lukewarm.
Fig & Olive was fantastic! Our waitress did a great job decanting the rich Cabernet Sauvignon we brought with us. We had the Iberian Jambon for an appetizer, which was amazing. The lamb chops were seasoned and cooked perfectly. This was my second visit to this restaurant and it held up to my original impression. I will return!
Excellent food and service. Modern vibe. In a lovely area.
Food was great & ambience terrific
Service was very uneven. Great décor and very good food.
I spent my birthday at Fig & Olive last night with my husband and 2 children. The ambiance is incredible. I loved the decor, lighting, and music. Food was excellent. However, service was slow. It took us 10 minutes before we got our beverages. It took the server even longer before he got back to us to take our entree order. It’s a weekend, I get it, which is why I didn’t bother to flag him down. The server was very nice, never seemed to be paying attention to our table. Let’s just put it this way, our menus were still sitting on the table even after we left and he didn’t even notice...
Loved the meal. Alittle expensive for the entire experience, food. service, venue, etc.. but overall good.
Overall very good. The service was outstanding and our service was fun!
Food was good. Server was average - not very engaging nor friendly.
Dinner at Fig and Olive isn't an inexpensive proposition, I cobbled together a fabulous "tasting" menu with their crostini and sharing plates, allowing me to sample a wide range of goodness. My husband ordered the Chicken Tajine main dish and we were both very happy with our choices. We shared the apple tart for dessert and it was perfect. It was nice to eat something where you taste the fruit, instead of sugar. We lucked up weather-wise and enjoyed dining on the patio. We will definitely return to Fig and Olive!
We love this place! Great service/ambiance
