Always a good spot. They seemed to have solved the check-in problem (previously the Maitre d' had quite an attitude). They offer nice wines by the glass. Consider ordering several appetizers as your main meal as they are generally excellent (cheese plate, baratta, and beet salad). The Cod was excellent as well. Highly recommended.
Lovely second floor gem. Cozy. Excellent lunch choices. Gracious service. Close to Water Tower and Lookingglass Theatre. Perfect choice for matinee lunch.
Superb with gluten free
My family wanted a nice restaurant where we could have a delicious dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday. Fig and Olive came highly recommended and it did not disappoint.
The restaurant was beautiful and the food was delicious. My husband had the lamb chops and he said it was one of the best dinners he has had in a long time.
Food was not edible. Cold potatoes, over cooked salmon. Service was wonderful though.
Food was not explained right. Ordered mock tail for pregnant wife and they said same price as a cocktail with alcohol. So we are paying for the alcohol we are not being served. Food just tasted not fresh. We ordered 2 salads and they were the best part of our meal. Burger was ordered medium-well and it came out medium rare with wrong fries. Just a hefty price for a not good meal. We have been to this restaurant about 5 other times and this was definitely the worst visit we have ever had. Very disappointed.
Wonderful as always. Love the paella. Wait staff is very attentive.
Michael did a great job.
Amazing food. Waiter slumped on cheese board though. Food is good enough that I don’t even care. Still full and happy
I had a lovely brunch here with my family that was visiting town. Rafael promptly stopped at our table to greet us and collect our drink order. He gave honest feedback when we asked for his favorite drink. The special crostinis were great, a must get for an app.
My uncle got the burger and truffles fries and loved it, and I got the shrimp pasta. I got the pasta last fall, and it tasted a lot better this time (and was warm, unlike last time). I noticed someone monitoring the dining room (dressed like a manager), he refilled our water and check on the quality of our food.
Fabulous food cocktails and comfortable environs
As usual, does not disappoint. And the cucumber martini was the perfect "salad"😍
It was a friend’s birthday and we chose the place and I’m glad that we did. The ambience was perfect and so was the cheese plate. The mushroom poppers are a must try. Lots of options for vegetarians which is why I chose the place. Would definitely go there again.
Out with my best friend.
Amazing atmosphere and food! Love this place!!!
Not appropriate to review service this time. Wine service was unacceptable.
Great food, and tasty choices for everyone. Amazing ambiance, very kid friendly. Service was a bit slow and sleepy, our waiter kept confusing our orders and seemed caffeine -deprived.
Hands down on of the best meals I've had. It was more expensive then what I would normally pay but it exceeded expectations in every way We appreciated the quiet ambience and tables far enough apart that enabled us to have conversation. All of the staff were tremendously gracious and helpful. Our waiter was informed, pleasant and discreet. I would without a doubt go there again when in Chicago.
Service seemed a little rushed!
Food was so very good and nicely presented. The service by Joe was impeccable.
We always love to eat at Fig and Olive. The ambiance, food and service are top notch. Although our service was a bit uneven yesterday, it was obvious there was a staff shortage so we were patient.
We really enjoyed our experience here. We came for a late lunch on a Sunday (2:00 pm) and were greeted with lots of attention as we were seated in a very well lit large dining hall. The decor is modern and eclectic; very inviting; feels luxurious but not over the top and can dress casually. Staff was great and attentive; not on your face but always close by. The food was excellent with moderate prices given that it’s on one of the most expensive streets in Chicago. We had the excellent very large Salmon burger and the Penne pasta with mushrooms. Their sandwiches are HUGE, enough for two people to share and the bruschetta are worth trying....very creative
Overall my new favorite restaurant in Chicago!
This was our first, but not last, visit to Fig and Olive. We loved everything about the place! The service was excellent, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was outstanding! We ate in the second floor restaurant, which is actually on the third floor. The main floor has a beautiful looking bar that we will try next time.
This was one of the worst experiences that I've had in terms of service. We didn't stay for the food because the service or lack thereof until we were seated at our table was atrocious. The restaurant wasn't very busy but yet, we were treated as if they were doing us a favor. So, although I've heard the food is good, there was nothing spectacular about my initial impression to imply that it is better than the hundreds of other amazing restaurants in Chicago. No food can be that good to make up for the second rate service and treatment of guests.
First rate entire experience.
I have tried Fig and Olive twice now. I love the ambiance and the food is good but the service has been less than ideal on both my visits. I am unsure if they are understaffed or where the issue lies but I will not be going back unless it is strictly for cocktails at the bar.
Food and libations were incredible, as was our waiter Mason. Tables were too close to other tables.
A friend’s birthday
Best Chilean Sea Bass I have ever had, anywhere, the best!
Delightful location for a delicious late lunch away from the crowds... Fois gras bruscetta... Salmon burger... Cheese plate... Champagne 🥂🍾
First time dining here and would definitely lean towards another visit when going to Chicago again. Food was superb through every course. Very broad range of choices in terms of ingredients and flavor profiles. Service was excellent. Waiter really knew the menu and also served at a nice pace. Were able to enjoy dinner at the speed we wanted.
Enjoyable meal. Service was prompt, though they got a couple of our orders wrong. Really nice waiter, who brought piece of cake with a candle for my son’s bday without us asking.
The food was phenomenal. Every single thing we ordered exceeded expectations. The ambience was great, not too loud, easy to converse with those at the dinner table. Greg was our server - he couldn’t have been more accommodating. He answered every question we had and was just great, very attentive.
Loved the ambiance and food quality. Will definitely return.
I love Fig & Olive to begin with...but my last visit was A+++
I went on Valentine’s Day with a few friends...not knowing they had a set menu for the evening...I’m very much set in my ways when it comes to food and order the same appetizers and entree every time I visit...so we decided to find a different restaurant...as we were getting up, Alex, the manager asked what he could do for us because he would like us to stay...long story short....he grabbed the full menu and we had a great time. I am already planning another dinner here with colleagues next weekend : )
I felt that the atmosphere was nice but the pricing for the meals was a bit much. The service was very good and the overall look was genuine.

Restaurant by it self deserve 5 stars for looks, really everything inside looks great, but, I don't understand how someone who have such great restaurant can afford such a poor service and menagment (if owner making desicions maybe I can understand). Service is not worth a penny, just simple example, I was with my fiancé, we ordered bottle of Vueve Clicquot, he poor us and then he took bottle God knows where, so I should looking for him to give me my bottle of champagne back. However, menu for valentine day was limeted, and still way far TOO SLOW, and desert we even didn't get( manager gave us 10% neighbor discount) so, conclusion is, this restaurant is beautiful and nothing else. I'm not putting all blame to service, because obviously kitchen was bigger problem, but still, they need to improve much much more for that prices that they charge. And yes, how I was disappointed ( I feel sorry because of buss boy only ) first time in my life I didn't give tip , and all my life I'm in restaurant industry, and my tip is never less than 20%, so it's clear how my night was awful.
The food was delicious!!!
Valentine’s Day dinner. Was very romantic and the employees were very kind and attentive. Best of all the food was awesome.
