FIG & OLIVE Chicago

Perfect lunch to catch up with old friends. Salads were wonderful and the wait staff did not rush us.
I love coming to Fig & Olive every time I come to town. Great food and great experience. Love it!
I have been here a couple times and went back last night. our reservation was for 7:45pm and we were seated at about 8:45pm. The drinks were terrible, the food (especially the shrimp cocktail was horrible) and, most of all, the tables were too close, people were loud and the crowd underdressed. It felt like I was at a banquet hall in Schaumburg. Don't bother. Plenty of other great restaurants in Chicago.
Definitely a place to celebrate! Unique flavors - must have Crostini's, mushroom croquets, wonderful pasta dishes. If asked to have bread delivered - it's a no-brainer! They are known for their olive oils in which they serve 2 & 1 balsamic vinegar to dip in. The staff is well seasoned and extremely helpful with any selection assistance you may require. Always a wonderful tastebud experience!
My wife and I ate there for the first time for our 21st Anniversary. Loved it can’t wait until I take her there again.
Gig and Oliver was s good time in a nice atmosphere and great location.
Outstanding service, phenomenal food! Was there 5 years ago, and it’s even better now!
Wonderful Mediterranean cuisine. Everything was perfection. Don’t miss the crostini with truffles, the smoked lamb chops, the olive and fig salad, the quinoa and tabouleh salad and the sorbet. Service excellent will come back as soon as we are in town again
Awesome relaxing atmosphere - like sitting in the family room and getting served awesome food.
Fantastic meal. Great ambiance. Great knowledgeable server!
Beautiful restaurant. We especially like to sit on the soft furniture or outside when the weather is nice. The food is very different. Very enjoyable evening. We would recommend this restaurant
Last time I went to F&O was about 2 years ago. I think the menu has vastly improved!
The service was very poor. Host table at front was very disorganized, once seated a server didn’t come by for almost 15 minutes, and we had to flag him down. Drinks didn’t come until we reminded the server. Service so slow we were seated over 2 hours - for brunch! Server had very little personality and only came when we flagged him. They were out of one of their specials so we had to reorder. Beautiful space, the food was “okay,” nothing to write home about. Given the poor service and poor personality of most of the staff we encountered, the food and ambience is certainly not worth the cost of our annoyance and frustration. Disappointed.
Lovely Mother’s Day lunch location
Food was very good but Nathaniel our waiter made our experience exceptional. He made our 1st Mother’s Day truly great. Bravo Nate.
The valet experience was horrible. We waited for 45 minutes and asked twice about the status of our vehicle. Then, after parties who came after us got their cars returned, we asked again. The valet had never sent for our car. We waited over an hour due to them never bringing our keys to a runner.
Service was solid, but came for Mother’s Day brunch and there was a sticker on my tomato in my salad.
My pregnant wife ordered salmon and asked it to be completely cooked through for her pregnancy. It came out not fully cooked through.
For 2x $25 salads to have a sticker/not fully cooked salmon is extremely disappointing.
Initially we were asked if we were ready to order once we received the menu... we were not. Then a member of our party asked for egg whites at brunch and the waiter wanted to go talk to the chef to see if that was possible. Other than that, the food was average and overpriced, another dish was forgotten and valet took about 30 minutes to retrieve the car.
Prix fixe brunch menu was reasonable but a la carte options were very limited. Food was mediocre tasting even though plating was great. Valet service for the restaurant was atrocious. Took us 45 minutes to get our car afterwards!
Over cooked lobster & steak. It took about 1.5hrs to get dinner
It was our first time at the restaurant, my husband and I were celebrating my birthday so I would aspect a good location table, unfortunately it was in front of the kitchen, not so romantic. I will make sure to make a more clear reservation next time.
The restaurant is very good, the service was excellent and food was good too.
Fun place to eat: good food, fun venue, and great location
Great good but a bit pricey. Band was good, but at times a bit loud
I really enjoyed it. I thought maybe the tables were a little too close together. Thanks for the fun night !
Second visit and the first was near perfect. The second was not as good. Had a reservation and still had to wait 28 minutes. Server was nice and friendly, but each course took 35 minutes.
I enjoyed the Red Sangria, the Fig & Olive Salad, and the Salmon.
Lovely decor, yummy food, absolutely would recommend it
Restaurant half empty yet our request for a roomier table for a business meeting was not met because we were a party of 2. Waitress was inappropriate in her communications and behaved oddly as if she was high. A block from my office and no longer a go to spot for business lunches. Disappointing.
Great restaurant with great food and service. Very enjoyable experience and the overall atmosphere is elegant and fun. Food all great.
Wonderful service and ambiance and great food. Truly a special place
The food here is great. Nice Mediterranean fare.
Service was AWFUL. Lunch for 3 took nearly two hours. Drinks took forever to come, food took forever to come, server barely checked in.
I had to get a manager to ask to pay my bill and it still took 18 min to get the bill. Lovely place, but no excuse.
This is my second visit to Fig and Olive. The first was fabulous, so we went again. Unfortunately it was just okay. The salmon I ordered took forever and was practically floating in a puréed pea sauce (yuk) and the chicken dish that my friend ordered was very dry. Salads were both very good. Server was average. The atmosphere is great, very open and airy and it’s a really beautiful space. Unfortunately fell below expectations this time.
Food is excellent— blending of flavors, presentation, quality. Only disappointment was the salmon crostini— no taste. Very nice wine selection by the glass to pair with food. Setting is comfortable, understated elegance on second floor of building on Oak with pleasant views of street. Have yo look for entrance, walked right by it and had to get directions back. Service was very good — attentive but not intrusive.
Loved our server. The 3 for $14 I thought was ridiculous. The portions were so small. The risotto was good. I don’t care for restaurants that give you tiny portions and are overpriced.
Hands down, my FAVORITE restaurant in Chicago and it NEVER disappoints. We were in town for business and I brought my colleagues here for dinner. Service was on point from our experience at the bar to our entire meal. Food was fantastic. Crostini's are always the most fun to pick (even though we all got our own and most of us did not share!) We celebrated a job well done and had a most enjoyable evening. :)
We were a party of 6 and Josh was our waiter. He was extremely helpful with recommending quantities for our shared dishes (crostinis, burrata, shrimp cocktail, and octopus) as well as recommendations for our entire meal. The octopus appetizer, and the lamb chops entree, and branzino entree were top winners as was the pot de creme for dessert.
Food was delicious and very fresh. I will definitely be going back again.
The service was excellent. The waiter steered us in the right direction for all of our selections as well was attentive to the table. The group shared a bunch of starters - all of which were excellent - the cauliflower being a favorite. All entrees were excellent as well.
Incredible paella-will be back next time in the windy city
New Chicago favorite! Everything about our experience was wonderful. Portion sizes were perfect and bursting with flavor! Highly recommend!
