Very nice ambiance and food, especially the Branzino. Delicious!
Have been here 3 times. Each time an error has occurred with wrong foods delivered to us. Too pricey a restaurant for this to happen with such regularity
Excellent food and service
Very friendly staff. Very comfortable and tasteful restaurant. Food was overall very good. Crostini appetizers were a bit bland, but the main dishes were excellent.
The overall atmosphere of Fig+ Olive is comfortable yet exciting; however, the food is overpriced and bland.
We went for friend’s birthday lunch and were treated like royalty. Cocktails are fabulous — all around excellent!
I like the cozy atmosphere and ability to talk without yelling during business meals. Food is always excellent. Our server this time must have been new, he seemed a bit nervous/uncomfortable and was slow compared to others I have had. Food makes up for it though!
Lovely restaurant with a seasonal and diverse menu. Lots of delicious gluten free and vegetarian options for those that don’t eat meat. Although we didn’t have the lamb or steak, they looked and smelled delicious. Highly recommend for a date, business dinner or fun night out with friends.
I haven't been to F & O since they first opened, and I will not go back. You know it's bad when you have to set your stopwatch on your phone to see how long it takes for ANYONE to approach your table. They were not busy, and had multiple people milling about the restaurant floor. When we finally got water, after sitting for at least 8 minutes, it was lukewarm. It then took at least another 5 minutes for our server to greet us. The food was lackluster, definitely not worth $145 price tag for lunch (4 entrees, 2 apps and 1 drink). To boot, the server rarely checked in on us and we practically had to beg for our check. It's too bad this restaurant has fallen off the rails, as the food was excellent along with the service in years past.
The reception staff are friendly and professional. The menu was great and varied and our waiter was friendly and professional. I would strongly suggest that when a group of business people sit down for a lunch, they don't have unlimited time. Our wait was way too long in a mostly empty restaurant, and the food came out incomprehensibly with some people being served appetizers before others who also had appetizers. That is awkward for the party.
If we had just been friends out to lunch we would have been utterly charmed by the lovely bar and menu, great waiter and gorgeous décor.
This place is slowly becoming my go to for business luncheons. A wide, healthy, menu that caters to many people’s appetites and reasonably priced for an upscale place. It is always fairly quiet in the restaurant and makes conversing easy. Has a separate lunch menu which is nice for smaller meals rather than large entrees.
My steak was burnt to a crisp. I had asked for my steak mid-rare and came well done.
Wonderful meal, beautiful restaurant. Truly enjoyed the signature crostini on focaccia. Fall menu risotto was absolutely delicious and the lobster ravioli did not disappoint. Service and attention to detail was top notch.
Just one word, hilarious!
I will be talking with management instead of going through it here.
Buratta and Iberian ham, risotto with scallops.
good food, prices not to bad.
AMAZING PLACE! Very good ambiance, great food, everything was great!
Lovely atmosphere. Really delicious food.
This was not my first visit to Fig&Olive and it is definitely on a downhill trend with all the earmarks of restaurant that is getting ready to close. The food was mediocre at best and the what few people were in the place were clearly tourists. The main floor was closed for a private event so everyone was shuttled upstairs where there is no where to wait while you wait for your table in an empty restaurant. Several people arrived while I was standing here saying that they were there for the "Happy Hour" and told that the bar was closed for a private event. Drawing people with your happy hour is also never a good sign.
Was a nice place when it opened but recently it just disappoints.
Booked for best friend
Seated 30 minutes late
Everything was delicious, except the lobster ravioli, which one member of the party ordered and said was bland. Our waiter was incredible with the wine recos
The decor and ambiance are gorgeous! The food was pricey but very good. Service was great!
It’s a lovely restaurant. What ruined it for us was the service. Our server felt like she was doing us a favor to wait on us!
We enjoyed our evening at Fig$ Olive. Nice wine list, great food. Drinks were so-so...
Service was outstanding and food was solid. The organic chicken was quite bland
As is usually the case, Fig and Olive does not disappoint. It is my favorite spot to meet or take people to in Chicago's Gold Coast area. It is energetic without being unable to talk. The atmosphere and food are always a hit. Recent changes to the menu have added some new dishes and have been outstanding. Service could have been better but the pluses of great location, outstanding food, and wonderful atmosphere make it a place I will go back to.
Service EXTREMELY slow, food cold when received. One salad served 15 minutes after others got their food. They removed salad from bill and sent a “complimentary” dessert for one to feed 6 people, then charged for coffee to go with the dessert. Lunch bill was $500 for 6, with one salad being removed. Never again for me.
Better than expected. All of it - to be specific. Comfy chairs. Good food. Chill music. Good drinks.
The ambiance was great and the service is good. This is a great place to meet people for a cocktail. The couches make for a suave, relaxing setting. I only wish that my wife and I had a better food experience. We enjoyed the crostini, and the infused olive oils and aged balsamic vinegar were good. However, we did not find our entrees enjoyable. The short rib was tender, but not worth the price and had too much balsamic vinegar. We paella noir was especially disappointing. I struggled to even call it paella since the squid ink made the dish more like a soup.
Best food and service in town , i will return and recomend the place always, thank you for the nice experience
Our waitress MImi was awesome!
My wife and I were visiting Chicago over the weekend and enjoyed a fantastic meal (lamb and salmon entrees) Saturday night at Fig & Olive. We will return on our next trip.
We have been to Fig and Olive a couple of times and we always have a very nice meal with great service. The croquettes and the branzino ate delicious.
Our server was knowledgeable and his service was great.
We will be going back.
Everything was delicious and can’t wait to go back again.
Made a reservation on OpenTable (they called to confirm which I didn’t understand). We got there on time at 1:30. Weren’t seated until 2. I got the basic breakfast and the eggs were rubbery- just not good. Bread was great! And they gave us free crustini for the wait which was nice. No one lived their food. Overall, it was ok. They tried to make up for wait which was not but just not great.
I said I wanted strong tea - he said he’d have to charge me for two bags. They new I had a shellfish allergy and still offered shellfish. The table next to me asked for more butter for their bread (which they had already been served once) and the waiter said they don’t do butter. Truffle fries come very very undercooked and omelette has so much salt in it be ready for swollen afternoon.
