Loved it all, but sorry to say it was sooo dark that I could not see what was in my salad.
Cool space, decor and atmosphere. Service was terrible, food was average.
Delicious, lovely lunch. We had a beautiful table with comfy chairs in front of the floor to ceiling window overlooking Oak Street. Food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our unrushed and leisurely lunch.
I think the food is very good but my friend (who’s not a big fan of healthy/quasi-salad food) wasn’t impressed by much. The price is extremely reasonable though - the fact that we can get 6 crostini by 22 dollars just proves it all. Overall the expertise is great and I’ll bring more friends to this restaurant, especially for Saturday brunch :)
Girls nite out
Not a very diverse menu. Great for cocktails and appz but not dinner.
Great waiter. Really helped with food choices. Excellent wine by glass. I wear hearing aid and the noise level was loud but not terrible. Conversation ok. Sea bass best fish wife and I ever had.
It was great food. Really enjoyed everything except Lamb chops. Not the best chops i have had. Chef was kind enough to give another try to make them “medium rare” still over cooked. Otherwise everything from octopus to cauliflower to pot de creme were awesome
Poor service. Took an hour to get our food (party of 2) and the restaurant was only a third full.
Wonderful experience, romantic vibe, outstanding service - everything was just excellent!! Love coming back
Overall, the food and dinner was very good, however the pre-dinner bar experience was about as bad as it gets. The Bartender was the most incompetent and rudest I had ever experienced: First, we ordered two Old-Fashioned cocktails. The tall, male, bearded bartender served the cocktails, which had a thick, icy froth on top. Not what an Old-Fashioned is supposed to look like. Reluctantly, I tasted it and aside from its frothy iciness, it was excessively sweet. I nicely asked the bartender if he had shaken the cocktails, to which he responded, "Yep - is there a problem?" I responded that I had never had, nor heard of, an Old-Fashioned cocktail recipe that called for shaking, rather than either stirring or built directly in the cocktail glass.
He became very defensive and rude, impolitely asking if we wanted another one. I responded that it was also too sweet for us, so perhaps we should try a different cocktail. So I ordered two Negronis - requesting Stirred and UP in a rocks glass. After an excessively long wait, he brought the drinks and they were both served on the rocks - and very clear/watery, as though he left them sitting with ice far too long. I didn't complain about that, but reminded him that we wanted them served UP in a rocks glass. He became very agitated and walked away, sneering to a colleague "Jeeez!" as though we were being so impossibly difficult. Making matters worse, the Negronis were made without Vermouth - only Gin & Campari - but at this point, we didn't want to further inflame the situation, so we paid the bar tab and proceeded to wait for our table near the host stand.
The service we had was what was notable. Hugo was charismatic, knowledgeable & attentive! Food & drinks were lovely.
F&O has a great menu! Something for everyone! The food is fresh & delicious. Our service was pretty bad. Will still give it another shot!
One of our favorite places, especially like the upper floor seating.
The food was good but the presentations DISMAL!
Our waiter appeared bored.
Noise level could be lower and more conversation friendly, which it is not.
Wow! I was truly delighted with the entire Fig and Olive experience. The restaurant is beautiful and elegant, yet very comfortable. The food was delicious, I had the salmon and my friend had risotto accompanied by a Pinot noir. We both ate every morsel then shared an apple tart for dessert. While it was not a bargain, the food and the service and the ambiance were well above my expectations! All great!
Great food and atmosphere. Great for a meeting or date
This place is the best! We met for drinks at the beautiful bar. Lucked out on the Happy Hour specials! And our dinner was amazing!
We arrived early for the Happy Hour and enjoyed a great experience sitting at a table next to the windows overlooking Oak St. The food and wine were excellent.
As you walk into the restaurant you feel a special vibe, lively but elegant; bright but cozy.
Lunch options are varied and plentiful, with many items that are shareable.
Very nice wine options, delicious desserts and coffee.
I had the house salad, which was greens, gorgonzola, Manchego, figs, nice dressing, and I
added some grilled shrimp.
Service was impeccable. Very invited to go back
Great jazz trio, super menu and food quality and great service - will return for sure!!
Had a beautiful experience. The pre-fix brunch was excellent. The server was attentive.
The staff didn’t share that we were sitting at the bar waiting for our reservation. So we were asked if we even had one after waiting for 20 minutes. The bartender was excellent and our service from our waiter was excellent. So it made up for the mixup at the beginning.
I wanted to like the food more. I got the Sea Bass which was ok, but nothing to write home about, and outside was dry. The brussel sprouts were terrible. They were too large to be good, and the core or hard areas not removed. They should have only used smaller more tender ones.
My friends and I ate at Fig & Olive before an evening charity event. From the notable wine list, to the variety of signature crostinis, to the entrees, everything was exquisite. The service was also top-notch. The only thing I didn't like was that they made us wait until each person in our party arrived before they seated us. Other than that, I'd highly recommend. A great place for a special occasion, birthday, group dinner, or the like.
Great service, great food and perfect spot to celebrate an anniversary. Worth the trip downtown from the suburbs.
Good food, wonderful service. Our table area was a little too loud for the evening we looking for so they very graciously moved us to the bar where we had a nicely relaxed time. Tge bar tender was very food knowledgeable and was a great help getting us the right dessert.
Good experience except for the hostess who seated us. She was completely uninterested and annoyed by our request for a more desirable table, despite the fact that the restaurant was only half full. She begrudgingly moved us to another table but only because we insisted rather out of any sense of good customer service
Beautiful atmosphere and top-notch service. We loved the creativity of the menu and beautiful presentation. Lots of vegetarian options! Delicious and in-season.
Service was very slow and our waiter wasn’t very personable/helpful but the food and drinks were amazing!
We enjoyed our dinner at Fig & Olive, the food was creative and delicious!! The service was very attentive as well. When we are visiting Chicago again we will return to this restaurant for an exceptional dining experience.
Great ambiance with delicious food. We had a great waiter who was very helpful. I noticed there was a lot of great bar seating for people without reservations.
The food and experience was wonderful. It is a beautiful restaurant and the food was delicious. Beyond that the staff was so friendly and they were extremely accommodating of my grandmother who has to use a walker to get around.
Worst avocado toast. There was barely a smear of the thinnest layer of an avocado spread that was on a portion of the toast.
Amazing job by the waitstaff, and amazing job by the kitchen! All of the food came out amazing.
The food was excellent and the service was very good.
Poor service. Waited for a very long time for the waiter to come take our order and we received the wrong dish
Front Amanda we selected a paella and we got a sort of risotto with some seafood on top additionally they charged the check of other people to our credit card
Recommend ordering Sea Bass entree and Scallops appetizer, if you like seafood.
Food and service were great! The table was too small to accommodate 3 people for dinner plates and drinks.
