We had a really good experience. The food and service were exceptional. I would highly recommend it.
The atmosphere is very nice and we were able to converse comfortably, thanks to a low noise level. The bib lettuce salad was delicious, as was the sampling of starters. We liked the olive oil sampling as well. On the entrees, the salmon was so so, the steaks good, and the risotto a nice dish. Our favorites were the desserts, from the sorbet to the apple tart (delicious!). Service was excellent. An overall nice evening.
Sometimes they bring bread for the table sometimes they dont. Last time they didnt.
A nice restaurant with Mediterranean cuisine and healthy gluten free options and flexibility. The lamb burger was superb ! I will go back again.
We went for a birthday. Food was amazing- only complaint was it was very loud
My favorite place in Chicago... great drinks food and service
Waitress could not have cared less. Lackluster and bored. Sad
One of our favorite restaurants in the city! Ambiance, food and wine delightful! Bruschetta is a must try! Wife is vegetarian and raves about the salads menu! Must try.....you can thank me later.
Girls night!! I started with a reservation for 3, found out another girlfriend was in town for the weekend, so we upped it to 4. After ordering appetizers, another girlfriend texted that she just landed at Ohare early and was wondering where we were!! Changed it again to 5! They were busy, but easily accommodated us. We sat at a couch lounge seating area. Stayed 4 hours and they never gave us the impression that we were a problem. Excellent service. Beautiful and comfortable setting. 80’s music started a little later, but at a level that still landed itself to having a normal conversation! Love this place!!
Thoroughly enjoyed a sampling of crostinis and a cheese board. Wonderful wine list. Ambiance was modern and inviting. We had a seat by the window allowing a view of the lit trees and shopping below.
Food and service was excellent!
We went there for brunch on a Sunday at about 1 pm. It was not crowded and were seated in matter of seconds. The service was beyond excellent but the food did not match up. Most notably a cup of americano was served cold. I did order a second cup and asked for a hot cup of coffee which they executed to perfection the second time. But was charged for both. The entrees were good especially the Provençal brekfast but the lamb burger was flavorless and the chicken paillard was over salted.
Been there many times. Service was poor. Had to ask for simple things like plates and utensils. Bread was very stale. New menu, not as many good choices. Good portions were small and expensive. Asked for the window table, got a small crowded table by the kitchen
The food was amazing and the atmosphere is wonderful. Service was great. We were seated at a table for two very close to other diners. That took away from our experience. I felt as if we were involved in each others conversations and it was a bit unpleasant.
Dined with another couple. Overall had a great time, although our steak was overcooked and one item we ordered they didn't bring. overall had a good time with friends and the drinks were great and most of the food was good but expensive for what you get...
This restaurant is hit-or-miss...for some dishes, outstanding flavor, good value, and leave after a $30 lunch or $50 dinner (no alcohol) feeling a bit pricey, but overall OK...other times, like yesterday's, order a $21 salad with $9 chicken breast (was actually about half of one, beat thin, fileted into quarters / literally 1/8" thick, and grilled burnt bone dry) feeling like they are trying to go cheap on food while overcharging. As others' food looked fine, I couldn't send it back over a business lunch, discussion. This is my 6th time at the restaurant the last 3yrs, and I'm on the fence, as this is the 3rd time, inconsistently (except maybe every other visit...so my next should be outstanding???). It sucks that the ambiance is so great, and the potential / when meal is good seems high, but half the time it's poor quality and you feel ripped off.
This place is amazing...quaint quiet and plush. Food is Fabulous.
This is a neighborhood restaurant for us and we love it!
Everything about Fig Olive was marvelous except the host on the morning of our brunch. First, Upon my arrival on the floor, there was no one Attending the host stand. So I stopped there and waited for service to show up.
When I saw the host finally walking towards my direction, I smiled at her and said hello first. BUT, all I get as the guest was Nothing. No facial expression, no greeting, no any reaction. After she finally settled at her work desk ( the stand), she looked me and gave me the look that’s saying “ what are you doing here”.
I sat down at the table she gave me. A few moments later, my friend showed up and received the same treatment from this girl. This female host just pointed to my friend where I was sitting and asked my friend to go find me herself.
I don’t know what kind of customer service experience or training this host has had in the past. But her attitude and level of service makes me feel I am at a casual sports bar or even a fast food chain. Definitely not what Fig Olive aims to offer its guests.
I understand everyone has tough days and personal reasons for showing up to work with a mood or slacking off . But being a host at a high end restaurant, unfortunately doesn’t give one the luxury to do so.
Amazing family dinner! We had a great night!
We always have a great meal here! The service is attentive, the menu is creative and delicious, and the ambience is elegant yet casual. Highly recommend it.
Horrible food and totally overpriced. Everything was burned or just poorly executed. Sadly has a horrible experience, and would never go back.
We were there for NYE dinner. Food was good service could of used some improvement. First of all we were not give the special NYE menu had to ask for it. Throughout the dinner our waiter did not refill our water only right before we left and never asked if we wanted another drink. Also as soon as clock struck midnight I felt like we were being rushed out of the restaurant. No tea or coffee offered. Dessert brought, followed by check.
Food was very flavorful and delicious. Atmosphere and service were really good. Docked 1 star because the lobster bisque was a joke. Literally 2 spoonfuls and that was it.
We were celebrating our daughters birthday. The luncheon took 3 hours, mostly due to very very slow service; long time lapses in between taking orders, etc. we did not have our drinks until 30 minutes after we sat down. 2 orders were taken, and then waiter did not come back until 15 min later for the remaining 7 guests ( there were 9 of us in total). And the restaurant was not even busy. I have been going to restaurants in nyc, including the best, for the last 25 years, and throughout the United States , and more recently in Chicago, and have not encountered this type of service. Especially for a special celebration.
Service was super slow despite empty restaurant. Salad came out with way too much dressing. Lunch for two started at 12:15 and lasted till 2:30.
Un excelente lugar, la comida muy muy muy buena, hay un poco de ruido extra, pero en general excelente lugar
Great fresh food, lots of gluten free options, friendly and professional service
Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and drink options and gave great suggestions. Had an overall great experience!
The food is good, the service its ok nothing special, great ambiance,
Great brunch space. Love the lounge area!
Service was unacceptable.
Each course came out way too fast. We had to ask the server to slow it down. The crustinis were flavorful. The salad is always good. However, my risotto was overcooker and cold. My husband’s rigatoni was also cold.
April was a tremendous waitress for us. Very amicable and provided great recommendations. Made sure we didn't need anything. Food was excellent, perfectly cooked anda well proportioned. Options of drink and dessert were also top class. Will definitely go back!
Three of us had a wonderful evening. Food was delicious and they were easily able to accommodate one gluten-free and one vegetarian. Our waiter Jeremy was fantastic.
The mushroom rigatoni noodles could have been cooked a bit more, and the dish was too salty. I loved the bread tasting adn the potato soup and the coffee. The mousse was good. Attentive service. Clean, accessible washroom. Elevator
Great place for a tasty light lunch. Very good food and good portion size. Amazing olive oil. I wish I had more time to visit again. Next time in Chicago I’ll definitely visit.
Service was a little slow but nice place
