Perfect day to have lunch outside and FandG’s outside deck is wonderful! Lovely, attentive service and great food.Thank you so much.
We had bday lunch here on Monday and everything was great. Place is beautiful, we got great tbl, food was delicious and service attentive. I put a note it’s a bday but wasn’t sure if they pay attention on it. But they do! Was very happy when we got dessert with candle. Thank you!!
Two of the three meals ordered were incorrect. One person had to eat alone because the food Gad to be sent back and the rest of the party had to eat so it wouldn’t get cold. Sad.
Always love this place but this night started with them seating us in what was really the lounge, in low chairs and a small table disputed advance reservations. Then are waiter acted like he would get a bonus if we left in less than an hour. Food was great, but rushed service is a downer when we just wanted to relax and have a casual dinner. He was nice enough, but I hate hurried service. Still love F&O, just an off night.
I took 2 family members lthat I hadn't seen for quite a while and was looking forward to "catching up" but it was very hard to hold conversations because of the noise level. The 4 of us are in our 70's and I guess we should have chosen a quieter place. We loved the service, food and atmosphere but we all got tired of having difficulties conversing. The talking was loud and the restaurant had someone playing music which was totally unnecessary (only made everyone speak louder).
This is my third time going and it think because of their limited menu that does not change the choices are limited. I had the hanger steak and I wanted it well done and it come burned, my friends had the lamb burger and it was not that great either. I had a blast the first time I went so I was very disappointed.
Very attentive service and great food.
I definitely understand everyone has different experiences and expectations but i'm surprise this place doesn't have five stars. This was a surprise birthday dinner for my one of my best friends celebrating her golden birthday this month. My friend is a vegetarian and since this birthday is so special I wanted to find the perfect place and I did!
Our reservations was for 5:30 PM. I thought from the website and Google they offered valet but it might be during a certain time? Either way it did not matter because there is plenty of street parking (pay at meter or if you have the parkchicago app). Luckily we found a spot right in front! When you walk in, you take an elevator up to the second floor which is the main dining area. Amazing ambiance and beautiful decor. My friend and I were obsessed with the bar and how there is a tree in the middle with lights!! It feels so warm and inviting. The lighting is very Intimate. I love that all their seats are so comfortable! Food is fresh and delicious with so many flavors! Even the food presentations is beautiful! The Culinary team puts a lot of heart into each dish and you can tell by looks and taste! Our server was Bebe and she took really good care of us, was friendly, offered great recommendations and made my best friends birthday even more special! Crowd was very diverse. There was older and young people, couples, families with kids, and groups of friends. I am not sure how it is during the week, but I recommend for dress code purposes business casual. It is a little pricey but the menu offers something for everyone and truly is worth the experience!
Great place for for after work drinks and/or. Very nice atmosphere that is ideal for private conversation and enjoyment. Staff is very friendly and attentive.
We had a 7:30 reservation and didn't get seated until almost 8:00 PM. When we got seated they put us in a back room that was empty but stared to fill as we sat there. The waiter was very nice but clearly had to many tables to serve. He acknowledged we were out for our anniversary which was nice but that was it. The food is good but the service does not justify prices nor did we enjoy waiting when we made a reservation. The atmosphere is really lively but once again a bit deflating when being sat in an empty quiet room. Overall I wouldn't rush back to the restaurant because Chicago has so many great other choices.
Great service and food was amazing! Love the atmosphere as well.
We came here for dinner and LOVED IT (none of us had been before). The food was amazing, service was great and I loved the whole ambiance. I'm so glad a few people had recommended it to me and we will definitely be back. We were there for over 2 hours and never felt rushed. The waiter explained the menu in detail and gave us some great suggestions. My only "dislike" is there's 2 toilets in the women's restroom for the entire floor! I ended up using the restroom on the 3rd floor because there was a line of 4 in front of me. It just seems odd for that large of a space to have such a tiny bathroom.
Overall a wonderful restaurant and it fits the Gold Coast perfectly!
Truffle risotto was delicious!! Also loved the crostini
Had a last minute birthday lunch for 4. The staff was perfect on all accounts.
We ate on the terrace for the first time. Great setting, comfortable and a view of the shops on Oak St.
The food and service were excellent. I can't wait to go back!!
Perfect view, amazing service and super delicious food!
Moderate food but service is good. Duck breast was really dry and eggplant in the lamb chops were like rubber..
Wonderful service and great wait staff and the food was very good.
We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and were told the table wasn’t quite ready with no expectations set on a wait time. Thinking it would only be a short moment due to past great open table experiences, we grabbed a seat at the bar to have a cocktail while waiting.
At 25 minutes post reservation time we decided to leave right as I received a “your table is almost ready” text. While notifying them that we were going to go ahead and leave they insisted that the table was now ready and offered to pay for the bar drink (after I was signing the credit card slip). Had expectations been set or updates been shared midway for the wait time it could have changed the vibe. They were very busy which is great, but customer experience was overlooked. Bummer, we were really excited to try this place.
Have dined here often--LOVE it. The fig and olive salad is my absolute favorite and the dessert tasting is the perfect way to have a little something sweet at the end of the meal without going overboard. Everything about Fig and Olive is perfect!
We were able to sit out on the patio, which made the night even better. The drinks were amazing, and the food was on point. It is a must.
Mushroom rigatoni was served unintentionally cold. I've been to Fig & Olive many times and food is inconsistent. However, the vibe is almost always good & our service was attentive. We sat on the terrace on a beautiful summer day. So that helped make up for the disappointing food.
Food was mediocre at best. Server could have been more attentive & sincere. Ambience was STELLAR. Hopefully the next visit will be more pleasing.
The ambiance is sophisticated with wonderful city views. The food was excellent. I had salmon and it was fantastic. Service was perfect!
Absolutely amazing food. Great, knowledgeable staff as well. 10/10 recommend this to all
Great service and food!
Great salmon dinner. Fast service. Very healthy menu. Would go back again
Great food and overall experience but it was so loud at the beginning that our server basically had to yell for us to hear what she was saying.
We eat here every time we come to Chicago. It is one of our favorites. Great vibe, decor and location. Fabulous food and amazing (but expensive) wine list. Always fun.
Loved it! Thank you!
Service was terrible and slow. I chose this restaurant because it was my birthday and I wanted my husband and children to have a nice dining experience with me. From the moment we walked in we were not greeted. When we were approached we were asked to wait for a table even though the establishment was very empty. Once our server came to us it took a really long time for him to bring kids menus. I believe he forgot the first two times we asked. The food was not very flavorful.
First visit to Fig & Olive. Prior to coming, checked with the restaurant to see if it offered valet parking. Was told they did but it was up the block from the restaurant. Never did find the valet but was able to get a street spot. Tried a variety of appetizers, six different bruschettas, none of which were actually memorable. Main course was Shrimp Fettucine, which I thought was bland and tasteless. Noodles appeared to be from a box rather than fresh. Extremely noisy, seated in the bar area on crowded banquets. Service staff attentive and tried hard to please but forgot to bring the PInot Grigio I had ordered at the beginning to be served with my entree. Not likely to return
Love this reataurant. Alex, the manager does a great job!
Sent my goddaughter and her date to your restaurant. She loved the ambiance and the food but the service was beyond description - so attentive and just plain nice. We will be back!
Fabulous food and service. We sat near the window in a casual dining area with large, comfortable chairs. The hostess suggested a wonderful Pinot Noir that complemented the chateaubriand.
We were visiting Chicago from out of town. The food was quite good starting with cocktails, the chef selection crotinis, Octopus carpaccio, and the charcuterie board. I enjoyed the wonderfully prepared and tasty lamb chops. My wife had the lobster salad which tasted a bit grassy like a freshly mowed lawn. I’m sure it was packed with micronutrients but just a bit too bitter for our taste. The pot de creme was a nice finish to the meal. The service and ambiance were outstanding.
Terrific service, atmosphere and food. I would wholeheartedly recommend
Amazing!!!! That is all! My Birthday brunch was a success. I will be Back for sure
