Meeting up with family and friends we hadn’t seen in a while
Outstanding quality food with lots of choices between Chinese and Dim Sum and plenty of Vegetarian options.
Great service, good food - nice discount on dimsum!
This is about the 4th time going there, food is great, service wonderful
Wonderful food in a comfortable outdoor space
Absolutely delicious!! Highly recommend this restaurant. We had a great time.
Great food, great service, and the half off dim sum on Sundays is an incredible deal.
Good for vegans and vegetarians. Need more vegetarian dim sum options but otherwise food was really fresh and good
Sunday half price dim sum offered.
We ordered jasmine tea, shrimp and lobster steamed dumpling and chicken steamed pot sticker. Also tried pork shoulder, all tasty. It is nice value to get 50% off. The service was slow and not attentive. I understand this day they were very busy, however made our brunch a little disappointing, wait way too long for food and for check. All in all still recommend Fifty One kitchen .
The worst customer service EVER
Enjoyed Sunday half off dim sum
menu. Lots of choices, forgot Chinese name, we had steamed chicken dumplings and lobster and shrimp all delicious! Recommend having tea with the dim sum too. Fifty One kitchen has great food and nice atmosphere too!
The wait staff was so very nice, and the place looks nice. Dim Sum were better than the regular menu. I'm hoping that they can step up their game as I want to like the food as much as the place.
Fried Pot Stickers- Good
Lobster Roll - Good
House Made Xiao Long Boa - Good
Pork Xiu Mai - Too Greasy
Kung Poa Chicken-Just OK - Not like any Kung Koa we've had before
Hong Kong Ribs - Not Good
Yang Chow Fried Rice - Good
Best place for authentic dim sum outside of Chinatown!
Peking duck was also very good.
Ask for the tea menu since there are at least 5 unusual, excellent-quality fresh-brewed teas available served in attractive pots.
Service was attentive, which nowadays is a big plus.
We sat outside and noise level was negligible; it was easy to have a conversation.
This was the second time dining at Fifty One and we plan to return often.
We had an incredible time at Fifty One. I was shocked when we walked in that it was practically empty, considering it was so beautiful and peaceful. But I suspect we came just before the dinner rush, because by the time we were done eating, the place was packed!
We enjoyed a honey chicken appetizer, which was absolutely to die for. My husband really loved his Cantonese BBQ meal, and I was very happy with my Szechuan spicy chicken. The portions are ENORMOUS and so affordable. We took a lot of it home!
Also if you're into macaron ice cream sandwiches, you won't find better ones than here. They have the most incredible flavor options (like black cherry fudge -- WHAT) and I would drive hours out of my way to get the Cherry Vanilla again and again. My husband got the Cookies & Cream, which was delicious as well.
My only gripe is that they are so understaffed! Our poor server was the ONLY person working. I'm not sure if it was just a weeknight thing, but he needs some help! I saw him LITERALLY running across the restaurant multiple times to take care of all the guests in a timely fashion. If you dine here and there's only one server, please be kind and patient!
The Sunday Dim Sum is always great in taste, presentation and value. Our service was slow but on the other hand the restaurant was quite busy. Will be back again!
I really wanted to like this place based on reviews and convenience location. However on a sunday with one cook and a full house. Took 2 hrs to get food .
On way to kitchen Restrooms were dirty .
The food when it came was good but was not varied enough and spaced out over 2 hrs for standard dimsum potstickers of 4 dishes. not worth it.
Very good quality dim sum and Chinese dishes. Take advantage of their happy hour 50% off on dim sum items.
Everything was amazing! Our serve was super knowledgeable and helpful. The food was delicious. I would highly recommend!
51 is a beautiful restaurant and the food is exceptional. The ingredients are fresh and the fish/meat are perfectly cooked! The staff are pleasant and love dogs!! Thank you for giving our community a wonderful restaurant.
It was fun, scrumptious food, beautiful weather and helpful and attentive servers.
Amazing experience. We went with dim sum (8 items) and some Cantonese bbq duck. The rice in lotus leaf is a must have! Ambience was perfect and the server was excellent. I will eat here again and again.
Food is great! We like spicy and they have wonderful options. We love going for our Birthdays because they give beautiful gifts and free treats. Service is very slow, but they have a lot less workers covering a big restaurant. So just don’t be in a rush and enjoy yourself. They’re trying. It’s a beautiful restaurant with delicious food!!
Cantonese is not for everyone. Perhaps our experience can be written off to that, but overall the taste, seasoning of the non-dim sum menu items was not particularly good. Not bad, just mostly tasteless, a lack of distinction. The service was wonderful.
Declicious food, attentive staff. We had a wonderful meal
Good food. A little difficult to communicate with staff
Good food and friendly service!
Sunday dim sum is worth trying new dishes. Highly recommend this place.
Fifth visit in less than a month! Very happy with everything about this place. Have been with Chinese friends, we are all impressed. Great food, beautifully presented, and so close to home! Katie the manager and her staff very friendly and accounting.
The wait staff at this restaurant could not be nicer or more accommodating. If we had chosen to dine indoors, perhaps our experience would have been better. But we preferred to dine outdoors, so were repeatedly "assaulted" by the raucous noise from the sports bar next door. The food was good - a terrific selection of what seemed to be homemade dim sum and a roast duck with pancakes. We ordered one each of the two hot both were so spicy as to be inedible. We brought them home and refigured/salvaged them with added chicken broth. The menu suggests drinking tea with dim-sum and the selection is outstanding! I drink tea exclusively and the tea served at this place was fresh brewed top-tier stuff. All in all, we enjoyed our meal and would return.
Great food, great size portions Katie the manager knows how to treat customers. Been there 4 times. At long last, a nice restaurant with food rivaling San Gabriel Valley Chinese restaurants.
This excellent Chinese restaurant located near the old Culver City Hotel has good out door seating and an attentive staff. Their cuisine consists of fine Chinese cooking. On Sundays the dim sum is 1/2 price. The best item is the lobster dumplings. Yum! Also serves an array of fine teas and saki.
So good to find a good Chinese restaurant nearby. We would always plan a day trip to Monterey Park and drive out 30 miles for decent Chinese food especially Dim Sum. No need to do that now that fifty one is just 15 minutes away.
Food was okay. Felt like it could have been more flavorful.
The food was good and came out very quickly. Wasn't too pleased that they gave us plastic utensils to eat with. There was only one waiter for many tables so the service was a bit slow. The mapo tofu was amazing and the lobster dumplings were so delicious. Overall the food is good but they need to add more wait staff and change out the utensils.
Unfortunately, the bar next door had the volume on the TVs up so high you couldn’t hear anything else. We were on the patio. Next time we will eat inside if the bar is open. The tables are very well separated.
Everything else was great considering we had 5 children 10 and under.
They were very accommodating.
A bit pricy, but 1/2 off dim sum Sundays makes it totally worth it!
We had a really poor experience on our recent trip to this restaurant, for two reasons. First, we were given paper cups for our water and plastic spoon/forks, which felt very strange as we were indoors and eating off of porcelain dishes. Second, when we got our check we realized we did not receive one of our dishes and the waiter agreed and took it off, which would have been fine. However, after the check had been closed and tip was already written, the manager came over to our table to tell us we HAD in fact received the dish. And again, we told them we really had not and recounted every single dish we had ordered. To which she pointed to my husbands plate with scraps and said ‘he ate the dish see’. Which was completely uncalled for of course.
But what was most obnoxious was after I said to her ‘fine, I don’t want to argue with you’ she raised her voice at us and made a point that we did eat it as her final word.
I’m sure this restaurant won’t be around too much longer for both of these reasons which is too bad because the rest of the staff that works there are all very nice and the food is actually pretty good.
Such a find!! Looks like nothing from the outside. And the layout inside is pretty uninspiring. But the food is absolutely exceptional. Every dish we ordered was delicious and prepared to an incredibly high standard. The staff were a delight too. Can't return quick enough!!
Went for mother's day dinner and really enjoyed ourselves. Some of the dishes can be very spicy but everything was delicious.
The most delicious food outside the San Gabriel Valley!
Amazing food.. great service. We wanted to try everything because it was all so delicious!
Will def be a regular here!
