   Thanksgiving. We opted for the steak dinner instead of turkey. It was incredible! Perfectly medium rare and the potatoes and greens were wonderful too. One of best steak dinners I had.

   Three of us met for brunch/lunch at Fifty, a newish restaurant in an old, charming street. Service was very friendly and excellent. Great choice of interesting dishes to choose from. Cooking was excellent. Would definitely go again if I lived anywhere near!

   The entire menu was somewhat experimental that each dish turns into a fun taste test. However if we had to pick, we especially enjoyed the tuna crudo.

   I haven't been to 50 for about a year, but I always enjoyed the interesting food an foound the service to be very well done. Sadly my experience last week didn't measure up. We arrived about 8p on a weeknight and there were only 3 other occupied tables. The server was very pleasant and our drinks arrived promptly. Then things took a turn for the worse. We only ordered two mains, the restaurant was empty and it took 40 minutes for our food to arrive. We didn't bother to stay for dessert and with that small bit of food, the check come to $100 without tip. QPR not aligned...

   Poached eggs were well done (yolks looked hard boiled). Crab was rubbery. One of my pancakes was burned and the other, underdone. They forgot my side of sausage. Only saving grace was the delicious deviled eggs, though unfortunately they cost $3 for just one half an egg.

   Really enjoyed the combinations of flavors in the black rice with calamari and shrimp, potato soup , tuna tartare and salmon! All were perfectly seasoned and oh so flavorful ! We want to return soon to try other dishes.

    Ho hum. Great starters but mains suffered the classic chefy problem of too much salt. Kinda spoilt it... maybe a different choice of mains would have had a different outcome. By no means a disaster - just didn’t light my fire...

    Out meal at Fifty was hit and miss. It is on a quiet block and if you blinked, you'd miss it. But inside it was really nicely done. Bigger than I expected but surprisingly quiet for 8PM on a Friday. The menu has a nice mix of mainstream and unique plates. We started with the plantain empanada (really delicious), octopus, and the grilled romaine (also really great!) and loved all 3. For entrees our group had the shrimp and calamari black rice with uni, the grilled hanger steak, and the beer braised goat ribs. The shrimp and calamari and steak we'd order again, but the goat ribs we would not. The level of doneness across the ribs varied, but had they been consistently cooked to fall off the bone they would have been enjoyed more. Way, way too much food for us, but any of the starters or the first 2 entrees are great options!

    The food is delicious, unusual and attractively prepared. I love this spot. The neighborhood is one of my favorite spots in all NY and to find this gem within it is a gift from the gods. My only surprise was that on two occasions, the wait staff seemed to be a bit more eager to get our food orders in, rather than clue in to the fact that we wanted to have drinks first (one occasion) and sip wine (another occasion) for a while before looking at the menu. The wait staff is otherwise gracious and professional, so it struck me as a bit odd that I had to ask about getting drinks and ordering wine. But I lovethis place and hope it does great business for a long time.

    Outstanding food, ambiance and service. The bloody Mary ceviche was great, the devilled eggs were not just delicious but truly surprising, the service and music made the Sunday brunch a wonderful time.

    This is our go-to restaurant in the West Village. The food is innovative and comforting and the cocktails are outstanding. A tad expensive but, hey, it's New York. This visit I had the Amish chicken (fabulous) and my husband ordered the heads-on shrimp (good). We look forward to the deviled eggs with smoked trout(!).

    Another amazing meal. Creative menu and adventurous choices that are unfailingly delicious. There are few restaurants that I find consistently great. I’ve never had a bad or unpleasant meal here. The wait staff is a delight, and don’t miss the goat ribs or the mezcal margaritas.

    The food was original and very tasty. We loved the perfect seasoning of the grilled octopus, the special sauce of the tuna crudo and from the mains the Branzino was outstanding but small to be a shared plate for two people. Wine list was interesting, we tried the “interesting list” and were not disappointed for our choice. What for us does not entirely work is the decor, may be we loved so much the old Art Deco restaurant that was here for many years, that is difficult to accept the new ambiance and grey decorations.

    Loved the location but the cocktails were really not good and the food was ok but very overpriced for what it is. The waitress kept hovering around clearing plates when we were not even done with the food.

    Every dish was unbelievably salty. We both woke up swollen the next day. Inexcusable. Lovely spot. Does no one Check the food? Maybe they smoke so their taste buds are different. I’ve heard this happens. However we will not return

    Fifty is a really hidden gem in noisy West Village. Many Southern American inspired plates and many fish options which I liked. Unfortunately the waiter didn't fully take care of our table... we always had to look for him to ask something. This is only one but big complaint. Otherwise this place was perfect to bring someone special.
