Went for Valentine's Day. On top of the food being poor and very small portions, it was expensive. It seems like they are aiming to be a trendy dinner spot but are just way off the mark. Glad we got to try it out, since it is close to us, but will not be back.

We wanted to try a new (to us) restaurant for Valentine's Day. We found a real treasure that we'll return to many times. Comfortable, intimate atmosphere, nice wine list, incredible food - we savored each and every bite, and exceptional service.

We went to Fifty First for Valentine's Day, on a recommendation from a friend. We were seated at a table for two in a cozy corner of the restaurant and treated to a fantastic three-course menu. The appetizers and desserts were amazing. Fifty First helped make a special night even more special.

We loved everything about 51st Kitchen! All of the staff, starting with the hostess, were knowledgeable and very helpful. They were busy but everything came out at the appropriate time. One of our appetizers was missing something and it was promptly taken care of. Entrees (red fish and steak/sausage) were cooked well and seasoned perfectly. Desserts were also very nice-good size for the price. We will be back!

Enjoyed sampling their menu during Restaurant Week. The red snapper was delicious as was the apple galette. Presentation was elegant. Service was attentive by not intrusive or fussy. We will be back.

I went to dinner here with two friends on a week night during restaurant week. While the food was above average, our overall experience was disappointing. We made a reservation for 7:00, but our table wasn't ready until 7:45, so that was frustrating. The bar area is too small to gather around, and the few seats available were full, so we just stood near the entrance and waited. After we were seated, the service was slow. Our server was friendly and knowledgable, but it took a long time for him to bring us our drinks, and then he didn't come back to take our orders until we'd been at the table for almost an hour. By 8:30 or 8:45, when he finally took our orders, the kitchen was sold out of the entree I wanted (narrowing my options to 2 entrees, because of the limited menu for restaurant week). I wasn't surprised that they'd run out, considering how late in the evening it was by the time we ordered, which could have been avoided if we'd been seated on time and didn't have such slow service. They were out of 2 of the 3 dessert offerings as well, which was annoying because we'd each selected the 3-course option and the server didn't mention that they were out of all but 1 dessert item until after the fact. The food was good, but certainly not good enough to encourage me to go back when there are so many restaurants in Nashville where the food is just as good and the service is exponentially better.

We went during restaurant week. Food was cold, service was terrible, and they ran out of one of the desserts they were offering (they were only offering 3). If you're planning to do restaurant week, I would imagine you would know you were going to be busy.

fantastic food that was fresh and inventive ! Wine list, cocktails and beer was great. So many places in Nashville have the similar menus and flavors. This place stood out as being original, fresh, and delicious . Our new fave!
