Fifi's on the Beach
Many who have discovered Fifi's Place return often for the happening vibe and fish and lobsters that are often just hours out of the ocean. Many dishes have a Japanese twist, while others are solidly Latin.
Very good FRESH seafood. One of a handful of places in Miami where you can have fresh hogfish. You'd never believe there's such a place in that little plaza.
The Restaurant look like very kitch.
The food is quite good
This used to be one of our favorite restaurants! We always ordered the same thing. Apparently there is a new owner and our food was not the same quality we are used to. Service was pretty bad too. They used to bring out complimentary apps and little touches and this time we told them we were celebrating our 10th anniversary and they didn’t even say “happy anniversary”. Disappointing!
Food was over priced for what it was but the service there was exceptional. Our food came really fast. One of our pasta dishes cost $30 and it was the size of an apetizer. Can’t complain about the actual food as it was good. I just wouldn’t have paid that much for a dish.
If what you want is to be seen and be surrounded by hipsters, this is not the place for you, but if you want beautifully prepared seafood in a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere with great service, come to Fifi's. The fish is local and caught the same day, fresh and tasty. My guest had the lobster bisque and paradillada (grilled mixed seafood platter) and I had grilled snapper (catch of the day) and grilled seasonal vegetables. All of it was deliciously prepared to showcase the fresh flavor of the seafood rather than mask it. The wine list is good and there was warm fresh bread to accompany the meal. We were too stuffed from the ample portions to have room for dessert. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return the next time I am in Miami.
+Very good food and nice staff, friendly service.
Went to this test for the first time, reservation wasn’t needed for lunch at 1:45-2:00pm. We got sat right away, there was about three tables seat was throughout the restaurant counting us, we had two appetizers which were very simple yet we waited for an order of fried calamari for 30-35 minutes with only three tables in the restaurant!! Service wasn’t the best. Would not come back to this place.
It was recommended to us by our hotel and we were not disappointed.
Excellent food and service! The paella was delicious and whole fried hogfish was amazing!
Deception that day
Amazing service, very polite staff, food was outstanding!! I would recommend this place to everyone!
Our first server was inattentive and seemed distracted. When asked his opinion, he stammered for several minutes and ultimately said nothing. We thought it was a little weird. Shortly after, he told us he was leaving and we were getting a new server. Maybe something was going on with him 🤷🏻♀️. Otherwise the food was excellent and new server superb.
Our server was amazing and attentive. I suggest getting there early. Food was as good as we had hoped. We will be back on our next trip.
Posto carino, meglio dentro che fuori (si mangia sul marciapiede di una strada trafficata) prezzi alti ma nella media della zona. Qualità discreta, il riso è stracotto
Excellent food and great staff
A very nice restaurant with excellent food and service.
Went for dinner and ordered the chilean sea bass with home made potato chips, it came with bread and a mixed green salad. I added a glass of wine and the bill was just under $60.
Pros: friendly staff and attentive service
Cons: chips were burned and laid on damp lettuce which made them soggy, sea bass was oversalted but moist and tender
We have visited several times. The food was excellent as usual but the speed of service was extraordinarily slow.
We loved everything! Food was really good. Definetly would go back.
Outdoor seating is right on a busy sidewalk. Not much ambiance. Indoors looked better.
By far the best seafood in mid—to-north beach. Every dish is awesome.
Wonderful service and excellent seafood!
Not particularly good
Actually average at best
We have been visiting Fifi's 1-3 times per year since shortly after they opened. Until now I considered this restaurant the best place for seafood in North Beach. Unfortunately food quality, service and ambiance have deteriorated and it's unlikely we will return. The fresh seafood display has shrunk to just a few choices (this time stone crabs, thawed langoustine, and snapper). Jumbo stone crabs (no colossal available) were nearly tasteless - a big disappointment after enjoying them in past years. Nigerian langoustine was tired and limp, suggesting it had been defrosted for too long - we passed on this. Snapper was good quality but awfully overcooked and dry - after I specifically asked the waiter to have it grilled rare to keep the inside moist. Accompanying vegetables were also woefully overcooked. The waiter never asked if we were enjoying dinner. Meanwhile decor appears not to have been refreshed in at least five years and now looks shabby. All in all very disappointing. With all the new seafood places in the area to try, sadly I can no longer recommend Fifi's. Not a good value for price and not a particularly enjoyable dinner.
Crabs and lobsters the best, the rest of experience so so!
Fifi's never disappoints! The menu is amazing with many choices for everyone -- whatever your tastes. The fish options are plentiful, creative, and delicious! Our favorite appetizers are the tuna taco bites and the ceviche. Our favorite main dishes were the linguini with shrimp and lobster, the whole fish of the day (snapper) prepared in several different ways, and the shrimp scampi. Everyone was thrilled with their choice and said that they'd order it again. Having said that, there are so many other tempting dishes on the menu, we'd like to go back to try others.
The service was excellent -- professional and friendly. The prices seem reasonable....but we're from NY... so who can judge?!
We look forward to returning to Fifi's -- again and again!
Great! Freshness of the good, nice wine list and good service!
The restaurant was close to the cinema where we saw a Miami Film Festival Film so we decided to try after the show. The best service we received all night was the water girl. She was kind and attentive. Our hostess tried to sit us in a table for 2 wedged between other diners at first. I had to ask to be seated in one of several other larger tables on the other side of the dining room on the wall. And was accommodated. The waiter took awhile then came up and just asked what would you like to order, vs would you like to order a drink, wine, do you have any questions about the menu, have you been here before, let me tell you about the fish of the day, how it is prepared....Nothing. Then said he would be back when we looked ready!! I said we would like to order a bottle of wine and we have questions about the menu. His response was “let me get the wine first”. It was all about him and his timing all night. I ordered the Cesar salad and a mixed salad was delivered. He never checked to know and at least it wasn’t on the bill. The soft shell crabs were good but greasy. The seafood paradillo was good not great and the best thing was the chocolate volcano cake that he could not describe for us other than it is chocolate and like a volcano?? My husband’s Port was delivered on the rocks!! We had to send back and explain that is not how you serve Port wine! They included the Tio in the bill and we got out of there for $150 for dinner for 2 with 1 bottle of wine, 2 seafood entrees, 1 appetizer, 1 dessert and one Port. So it was a good value, yet not a good experience. We will not return or recommend the restaurant and hope the water girl gets another job we’re she is better utilized..like customer service!
It is not actually located on a beach. Outdoor seating is on the sidewalk. The food was delicious and the service was as great!
We love coming here for the fish and seafood - fresh and delicious! The Caesar salad and tuna tacos were excellent! The shrimp in yellow rice was delicious but way too much rice! And the lobster/shrimp pasta was tasty as well. Pleasant and accommodating service.
Delicious food served from very nice people!
I would recommend this place in a heartbeat! Whatever they saved in real estate costs, they've MORE than put back into the quality of the food and its preparation. What a terrific find and I challenge anyone to find a better seafood dinner that combines that level of quality and selection anywhere in the region.
We'll be back!
Great food, good value, prompt service. Staff made sure to accommodate my dairy and grains allergies.
Outstanding fish restaurant....excellent appetizers (cerviche, coconut and fish rolls were delicious). Fish is fresh, grilled and beautifully presented (they take the meat off the bones and then deep fry the bones to use as sort of a centerpiece on the plate). Nice collection of wines. Very good service, very reasonable prices
Terrible food with less than adequate service. Wasted first night of my vacation eating here. Thought it may have been a good find. Atmosphere was awkward kind of a south beach circa 2002. Food was very disappointing. Many dishes were drowning in the sauce like the shrimp tempura and miso cod. The calamari was ok and my grilled fish was so over cooked that it tasted like chicken. Our menus were still on the table when they were serving our entrees and none of the plates were ever cleared. Entrees right on top of appetizers.
Well. First off. Fifi’s is NOT on the beach. We heard many customers voice the same surprise. And outdoor seating means having the rush of Collins Ave traffic going by and people walking on the sidewalk. If you can get past those concerns you will end up with a fabulous meal. The ASR’s bass was first rate as was the tuna salad. Service was ok, one provider to the next wasn’t quite certain what was going on Makes you cringe when they automatically add 18% gratuity to the bill. Overall a good meal but location kind of sucked.
Fifi’s has a great selection of fresh seafood including stone crab claws and hog snapper. The food is consistently high quality and the service is attentive.
Great local place with outdoor seating. We had a wonderful meal with our children.
Very good food. We had the lobster appetizer which was generous. The snapper I ordered as a grilled filet was great, and came with rest of the fish in a novel presentation. The flan came with slivered almonds and was awesome. No cocktails, but our sangrias were good. Service was very good. Be aware that they include the gratuity.
