Fiesta Vallarta Ratings and Reviews
Only Mexican restaurant open Sunday midday
So we decided to try it out after having passed by casually many times before
Nothing special really and I say that almost as a compliment in that it's a typical California Mexican food joint that was once everywhere and provided a typical satisfying meal for a fair price due to the simplicity of the fare - much like older Italian eateries once did for that cuisine. What negativity differentiates this place are the absolutely exorbitant prices. Easily twice what you would/should pay at a typical old fashioned Mexican restaurant!!! To revert to the earlier analogy - it's like ordering spaghetti but being charged like your having cutting edge northern Italian food. 18 for a taco and enchilada? 22 dollar entrees at a place with corona banners hanging from the piñata?!! No bueno! Food ok
Wife ordered carnitas had weird sauce on it
My chile relleno and enchilada were again ok
But just ok
And only then if at a price in line with average service and dated but typical decor
Don't know how it can be justified at all
Best refreshing drink is the margarita with a Coronita drip. Awesome. Abundant food for the money. Only drawback was our waiter first not speak English so he had to keep sending the bartender over to take our ordersagain. Good luck dive witg outside patio and mid range prices
I can't eat anything spicy or peppery (hot peppers, or pepper on my meat etc). The waiter was not helpful or didn't understand me. When I ate there before the waiter was great and recommended what & how I should order. There for my meal wasn't as good this time,
It was a very warm evening, and we sat outside on the large patio which was great.
Live band was playing and a couple of people were even dancing - nice surprise that added to the festive atmosphere.
Food was great, and service quick.
My hubby and I were looking forward to a fun and relaxing, evening of delightful outdoor dining while listening to the cool guitarist we'd heard about. Unfortunately this was not at all to be. Once seated we ordered margaritas but then it took over an HOUR for the waitress to take our dinner order!!! If we could give Service zero stars we would. There were no apologizes but rather excuses - a big party (??!) but other tables were being served so we wondered if it was our waitress. I even had to go inside and request a water re-fill. Ugh. Mgmt-if understaffed then take fewer reservations, please!!! We'd thought we'd discover an enjoyable spot to return with friends, but we won't be returning anytime soon...if ever.
I love the food at this restaurant and the drinks are great, but it is also a wonderful venue for music. Unfortunately, the band was cancelled the night I went and I was very disappointed in this--I had requested seating outside near the band and no-one called to tell me the gig was cancelled. I ate there anyway cuz the food is so good.
We enjoyed eating at Fiesta Vallarta! Service was great and orders and drinks are taken electronically, so the speed of receiving food and drinks was so fast! Food was hot and plentiful! We had the 2 tamales, one with red and one with green sauce, both very tasty and a bit spicy. The Chimichanga was very good and was full of white meat chicken and topped with pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole. Took half of it home, it was so big. I'll definitely return and recommend it. Great seating outside, but was too cold to take advantage of it! Very cute and quaint location in downtown Los Altos.
We have dined here frequently - both just us as a couple and with groups. It is low key, honest Mexican food - not gourmet but not exptected to be.
This time though our waitress was outstanding, the food was not up to former standards. Though the plates were hot, the food was luke warm. We will certainly go back however, as everyone has off days.
We somehow missed that our entrees came with a salad, so we chose salad instead of rice and beans. If we had known we were already getting a good sized, very tasty salad, we might not have chosen to also have salad come with our enchiladas. The musician's amplifier was just a bit too loud to have a comfortable conversation over his music. Since we were having a reunion of old friends, we were disappointed we had to talk so loudly to be heard. Were we there just to hear the music, it was great. The enchiladas and fajitas were delicious.
Every one working at this restaurant were at the top of their game.. They were so accomadating.. We had at least 14 people celebrating a birthday and it went off without a hitch because of their attentiveness..
Our food came out in a timely fashion and our server was there whenever needed..
The Manager for the night was exceptional.. He rearranged our tables so that we all got to sit nearby to everyone..
Best night ever!!!
Love the patio & ambiance , you feel like you're in a mini tropical paradise! They have flaming heat lamps, lighting amount the trees, I feel like I'm in Puerto Vallarta!
Saturday music from 7:00 to 10:00 also enjoyable, room to dance too. Great for celebrating an occasion too! The food is yummy & genrous portions, love the sauces.
They were also very accomdating when we had a large group, helping us merge our tables to celebrate a birthday...
A CASUAL, NEIGHBORHOOD GEM FITS THIS RESTAURANT WELL! ONE'S EXPECTATIONS SHOULD NOT BE FOR GOURMET FOOD, BUT THE MEXICAN FARE IS REALLY VERY GOOD AND ATTRACTIVELY PRESENTED. FOR A WARM SUMMER EVENING ESPECIALLY - WITH MARIACHI STRUMMING ON WEEKENDS, THIS IS A WONDERFUL, REASONABLY PRICED RESTAURANT.
Fabulous place - casual and FUN; outstanding margaritas and menu, festive yet casual outdoor patio dining ehich features live musicnon Thursdays which we love , bonus room feith a cool oversized fish tank for a private and quiet ambiance or perfect for casual off-site fun meetings or large groups. A bit pricey but that is what it takes gir this gem to stay up and running!
I thought the food was ok, however I am not very satisfied because I made my reservations via open table, and didn't receive the points I was supposed to acquire. I asked the Matre de before I left about this, and he told me the days total had to be added up and the points would be added to my open table application...well, it's been 4 days now and no points have been applied. I don't understand why a restaurant establishment advertises through open table and doesn't deliver.
