I live for fete. I’m always looking for an excuse to go there. The food is always fresh and flavorful. The Chicken Liver Mousse is my all time favorite and their Rocky Road to Hana is the BEST! You will love this cozy yet sophisticated spot. Seriously, make a reservation now. You will thank me later.
We selected Fete by checking online for restaurants near our workplace to celebrate Boss's Day with our manager. We enjoyed the overall experience, ambiance and venue. We loved the food. Our servers were courteous, knowledgeable about the menu, and friendly. The only reason a rating of outstanding was not given across the board was because as time progressed and more customers arrived, the slower service became. (Our reservation time was 11 am and we departed around 12:30.) Fortunately, we received our meals prior to the lunch crowd. However, one server asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu, which we did, but never returned. Then we asked another server to see the dessert menu, which she gave to us, but also never returned. So after approximately 15 minutes we decided not order and asked for our check. All of us, except one said we would return because the food was delicious, to share the experience with others and because of the ambiance with the back courtyard and cleanliness of the restrooms.
This was so good we booked it again in the same week! It saved our bad food experiences in Waikiki!
We had a party of three. Two of us ordered one of the daily specials. It was ravioli stuffed with beef brisket. It was a winner! Food is always good here and the staff is very good with the service.
Unbelievable food and really nice owners make this restaurant a must when visiting Honolulu!
The food here is wonderful and have had lunch here before, so this was our first dinner experience. Place was packed and the noise level was deafening. Couldn’t hold a conversation.
Fantastic food and drinks, great service and we had a wonderful birthday party!
Sometimes I feel that my reviews are redundant since they seem to be a repeat of each other: “ The perfect Bistro / awesome ambiance/ a waitstaff to die for & some of the most creative dishes on Oahu”. But I can’t stop saying the same things over and over again. Foie gras gyoza, gnocchi with arugula ( a new dish) and an Onaga that was both flaky and semi translucent with a sauce and spices so ethereal. And of course superb wines from the best wine list this side of NYC.
I was treating my friend for her birthday. When I made the reservation it asked if we were celebratin anything so I said it was her birthday, but maybe Fete doesn't do anything, bc it wasn't acknowledged.
We were really disappointed bc our favorite meal, the panzanella salad with Kauai shrimp, had been removed from the menu. That was so delicious! I wasn't happy with my meal, but my friend enjoyed the Nicoise salad.
Fête is that neighborhood bistro that you can go to weekly and know you'll have a quality experience.
It’s always refreshing to interact with a staff that is friendly and attentive. In addition, the quinoa cakes, Fête salad, Greek salad, Fried Chicken were delicious. We pack some of the dishes to go to save room for dessert, the house made Rocky Road and also the Mango. We couldn’t decide which one to enjoy and our server pointed out the dish had two scoops and we can place one order and have a scoop of each. That hit the spot!
Will definitely return :)
Always enjoy our meals at this fantastic restaurant in Chinatown. Sat at The counter and marveled at Chef Robyne and her staff prepare our food. The Beef Brisket was tender and delicious. Look forward to our next meal.
A wonderful place. Great food! Lots of unique foods and flavors. Everything there is delicious. Good bar and drink, wine and spirit offerings.
Excellent food, service, and drinks! A must try whether you’re a local or just visiting the island. Venture off of the beaten path and treat yourself to an amazing experience!
Small place with a fun menu. There was a good mix of choices for everyone. Bacalao fritters they had on special were terrific as was the smoked fish dip. Gnocchis were light and pillowy and cocktails were spot on. One of our friends had the schnitzel which might have been a bit too fatty and breaded, but it seems most pork on the islands is fatty in general. Was a bit surprised by the price, even in an expensive food town like Honolulu.
I had a family birthday party for about 15 people and requested the library room for private dining. Our server was excellent and attentive, and the chef and entire staff were aware of the strict medical restrictions for my sister-in-law, who was celebrating her birthday with my brother. They both thought it was the best meal and dining experience in Hawaii.
Read great reviews and was not disappointed. Cool party of town, charming exposed brick walls in a casual but hip setting. Our server was amazing and the food excellent.
Dining late it was still very loud downstairs due to one large party with only two other tables occupied. As soon as the large party left, it was like a different dining experience. But even with the loud environment, everything was excellent and our server was topnotch. Only compliant would be a the limited menu offerings mostly with regard to pupus. Great wine list.
Superb really fresh oysters, delicious pulpo and amazing, juicy lamb burger.
We only give 5 stars if every category rates 5 stars. Fete never falters in any category. From the true aloha greeting from Chuck, one of the owners and the wine guru to anyone who is in charge of the floor you will start your experience feeling mellow and excited. Not sure which wine to choose? Ask Chuck or anyone one the floor. The best wine list outside of NYC. We always ask for their super briny, super fresh east coast oysters which are flown directly from the beds to Honolulu. The shuckers at Fete rival those at Maison Premier in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Make sure to try any of the fish dishes. The best on the island.
We absolutely love Fête! It is our favorite Honolulu restaurant. The food is creative and always delicious. The service is always warm and welcoming. We will be back again this week!
Great food. Sat at the bar and enjoyed talking with the bartender. Food was excellent
We love eating at the counter! Great experience!
Excellent service. Friendly waitress, knowledgeable about menu and wine list. Food was also first class, including the octopus, gnocchi and burger.
Food ok. Service great. Lots of other choices
Salad dressing served with mani sandwich has changed - did not like it.
It's Hawaii charm, aloha, and ingredients married with a NY / Brooklyn vibe and culinary standard. Pretty cool combination...
Maybe we caught this restaurant on an off night given other reviews. Service was good but was seated in their upstairs dining room with an exceptionally large party who was very loud. Being 2 flights up seems to make it difficult for servers although ours did the best she could given the circumstances. We split the rib appetizer which was large and very messy- awkward for a nice dining experience to have to cut them ourselves on a small plate. Beet salad entree and fried chicken were just okay- nothing to write home about. Best part of the meal were the grits. Ambiance was nice.
Food was good but needed to order my drinks a few times before it arrived. Also we were there for almost 2 hours and they only came around to fill our shot sized water glass 5 min before we left.
Fete is ... amazing. Each bite of every dish is complete heaven.
Incredible wine list! The service is excellent and the food is just outstanding. We went with the two specials and they did not disappoint. Very well balanced textures and flavors of each dish.
ALWAYS great experience. Great service, great food, great cocktails.
Eating at Fete is always such a pleasure. It is the perfect place to sit down with clients as the menu has a variety of options for differing palates. I highly recommend Fete to anyone who inquires.
We sat at the bar as there was a show at the Hawaii Theater.
The bartender provided great service although he was very busy.
Pleasant environment , tasty food, nice service.
Food overall was great. My bacalao croquettes and grilled pulpo salad were spot on. Ahi special, lamb burger, carbonara all had satisfied customers. The only misstep was the gnocchi, which was like a potato pudding—the gnocchi had all melted into a big bowl of goop. Tasty goop, but not what my chef brother was expecting. Server was knowledgable and attentive. Would be good to put some kind of sound-absorbing acoustic element on the ceiling—the table of young women next to us made it impossible for our table to have a conversation until they left.
The dish that I had the eggplant two ways with the zucchini noodles was excellent. The seasoning was not
overpowering. I opted to have all my baby eggplants grilled. I appreciated that there was flexibility for me to do that. I had a taste of the quinoa burger from my partner which was very tasty. Again there was flexibility he preferred not to have the frites but the kale and mushrooms.
We ordered the quinoa cakes as an appetizer and enjoyed them a great deal. However, the sauce was a little too spicy and could be turned down a notch for my taste.
We were happy to be upstairs as it was quieter and less hectic than downstairs.
We enjoyed the Library seating. Each of our menu selections were pleasing to the eye and flavorful. Summer Ala Fete was delicious, and full of complimenting textures. Our server Sarah was efficient, knowledgeable, attentive, and made our dinner at Fete an excellent experience.
Good foods We enjoyed dinner.
The first of three of our Favorite Restaurants in Hawaii for our 50th Wedding Anniversary. Fete is everything and more. It gives us the true Aloha Spirit. It gives us the ambiance of being back in Williamsburg Brooklyn where we were from and it gives us the best raw East Coast Oysters this side of Maison Premier also from Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Plus, the best wine list on Oahu. Being former wine Educators from NYC we can honestly attest to that. We had two glasses of a remarkable French Champagne then cane awesome, pristine, perfectly shucked saline oysters. Then the Bucatini and the Ni’ihau lamb burger -Spicy feta, roasted tomatoes, vine-ripened tomatoes, arugula, frites. The Barolo wasn’t too shabby. Perfect evening to start the celebration.
