We absolutely love Fête! It is our favorite Honolulu restaurant. The food is creative and always delicious. The service is always warm and welcoming. We will be back again this week!
Great food. Sat at the bar and enjoyed talking with the bartender. Food was excellent
We love eating at the counter! Great experience!
Excellent service. Friendly waitress, knowledgeable about menu and wine list. Food was also first class, including the octopus, gnocchi and burger.
Food ok. Service great. Lots of other choices
Salad dressing served with mani sandwich has changed - did not like it.
It's Hawaii charm, aloha, and ingredients married with a NY / Brooklyn vibe and culinary standard. Pretty cool combination...
Maybe we caught this restaurant on an off night given other reviews. Service was good but was seated in their upstairs dining room with an exceptionally large party who was very loud. Being 2 flights up seems to make it difficult for servers although ours did the best she could given the circumstances. We split the rib appetizer which was large and very messy- awkward for a nice dining experience to have to cut them ourselves on a small plate. Beet salad entree and fried chicken were just okay- nothing to write home about. Best part of the meal were the grits. Ambiance was nice.
Food was good but needed to order my drinks a few times before it arrived. Also we were there for almost 2 hours and they only came around to fill our shot sized water glass 5 min before we left.
Fete is ... amazing. Each bite of every dish is complete heaven.
Incredible wine list! The service is excellent and the food is just outstanding. We went with the two specials and they did not disappoint. Very well balanced textures and flavors of each dish.
ALWAYS great experience. Great service, great food, great cocktails.
Eating at Fete is always such a pleasure. It is the perfect place to sit down with clients as the menu has a variety of options for differing palates. I highly recommend Fete to anyone who inquires.
We sat at the bar as there was a show at the Hawaii Theater.
The bartender provided great service although he was very busy.
Pleasant environment , tasty food, nice service.
Food overall was great. My bacalao croquettes and grilled pulpo salad were spot on. Ahi special, lamb burger, carbonara all had satisfied customers. The only misstep was the gnocchi, which was like a potato pudding—the gnocchi had all melted into a big bowl of goop. Tasty goop, but not what my chef brother was expecting. Server was knowledgable and attentive. Would be good to put some kind of sound-absorbing acoustic element on the ceiling—the table of young women next to us made it impossible for our table to have a conversation until they left.
The dish that I had the eggplant two ways with the zucchini noodles was excellent. The seasoning was not
overpowering. I opted to have all my baby eggplants grilled. I appreciated that there was flexibility for me to do that. I had a taste of the quinoa burger from my partner which was very tasty. Again there was flexibility he preferred not to have the frites but the kale and mushrooms.
We ordered the quinoa cakes as an appetizer and enjoyed them a great deal. However, the sauce was a little too spicy and could be turned down a notch for my taste.
We were happy to be upstairs as it was quieter and less hectic than downstairs.
We enjoyed the Library seating. Each of our menu selections were pleasing to the eye and flavorful. Summer Ala Fete was delicious, and full of complimenting textures. Our server Sarah was efficient, knowledgeable, attentive, and made our dinner at Fete an excellent experience.
Good foods We enjoyed dinner.
The first of three of our Favorite Restaurants in Hawaii for our 50th Wedding Anniversary. Fete is everything and more. It gives us the true Aloha Spirit. It gives us the ambiance of being back in Williamsburg Brooklyn where we were from and it gives us the best raw East Coast Oysters this side of Maison Premier also from Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Plus, the best wine list on Oahu. Being former wine Educators from NYC we can honestly attest to that. We had two glasses of a remarkable French Champagne then cane awesome, pristine, perfectly shucked saline oysters. Then the Bucatini and the Ni’ihau lamb burger -Spicy feta, roasted tomatoes, vine-ripened tomatoes, arugula, frites. The Barolo wasn’t too shabby. Perfect evening to start the celebration.
Fete always has great food, great service and is one of my favorite places!
Fête is always good. Food is always delicious with inventive taste combinations. Wonderful, knowledgeable service.
Love the Food and Wine selections. The Specials are especially delicious. Noise levels on Sat evening were very high. People can’t seem to have a great time without screaming! Really hard to carry on a conversation with dinner mates.
We love Fete. This was our fifth visit, we are always impressed with the specials and there are several regular items on the menu that we just love. You have to try the Chicken Liver Mousse, the deviled eggs, and the octopus! Of course, you don't want to miss the Rocky Road ice cream for dessert. This is a great place for dinner before going out and enjoying an event in Chinatown. Now, if they would just open up a branch in Kailua, I would eat there every day!
We had a 5pm reservation for 7 adults and we were seated immediately. We decided to do family-style with our order. Our server was wonderful and once our order was completed, the first few dishes came out at a great pace. The dishes were absolutely delicious (Foie Gras Gyoza, Kunoa Beef Tartare, Pan-Seared Scallops, Red Snapper Special, Summer Alla Fete). However, the restaurant started filling up as time progressed and it got really busy. At this time, there was a period of 30-45 minutes where we waited for the rest of the dishes. Thankfully, we were not in a rush and were not starving since they did bring us part of our order. Once the rest of the dishes arrived (lamb chops, pork schnitzel, Pappardelle), they did not disappoint. They were all delicious as well. We went home without any leftovers because we ate everything.
Some stuff very good, some stuff ok. Carbonara not that good but they took it off the ticket...I didn't eat much of it. Cioppino, wifes vege entree and dessert very good.
Delicious food and drink as usual
Honestly disappointed with Fete. We came in on a Monday night, the restaurant didn’t seem too busy. We or
Food and service were great. Music was hard to hear and had bad tone. Everything else was outstanding.
Simply delish!!! Our server Cody provided exceptional service. Highly recommend.
Great service, wonderful food, but so fancy that it was almost contrived. Will go back, but will order something simpler.
What an amazing dinner. Will definitely be back. They have a great array of menu options.
You'll love Fete. Wonderful fun cocktails and very special food! Friendly staff and exceptional owners. They have the Aloha Spirit. Enjoy!
Excellent pasta and fresh fish courtesy of Ashley with Robin’s magic! Another very very enjoyable evening.
Just came back from our annual six week Soirée to France with stops in New York. Wined and dined through the six weeks and of course compared the great
restaurants we ate in to our favorite restaurant in Hawaii and that is Fete. Fete easily fits in near the top. Starting with an amazing staff, a wine list that honestly is the best on Oahu and the most knowledgeable wine specialist, Chuck to guide you. But the food is the high point. Start with the most pristine east coast oysters just flown in and perfectly shucked to the best fish creations on the island.
In my opinion this place is now the cornerstone of the Nu'uanu/Chinatown restaurant scene. Always great food, always thoughtful and authentic service sitting within a wonderful old brick Chinatown space. A legit NYC small restaurant vibe. The classics: Fried Chicken, the pulpo, the burger, and whatever fresh fish they have that night. The wine list though is the sleeper hit- incredibly nuanced selections that you do not see on most wine lists around town. Bravo!
Casual evening with friends / clients. Relaxed and a braod menu selection that suited everyones taste. I try to eat Paleo, the others not. We were all happy with ours selections and the food interpretation was both surprising and delicious
The food and service were excellent. The salads are large.
The food, ambiance and drinks were great. Unfortunately they were hosting a very large party upstairs, so the wait times for everything were much longer than expected. I would definitely go back!
We fly over from Maui to dine at Fete; each time is better than before!
