Enjoy live music under the pines almost every night in the expansive concert area or quieter al fresco dining on the front deck. In the winter, cozy up to the beautiful fireplace in the elegant lounge/bar.
My experience was terrible I could not get the table I reserved it because it was overbooked.
Great as always ... food, service, entertainment, setting under the pines! Not much else to say since that “says it all”!
Love this place ... usually spot on but 30 minutes to get cocktails was a little long . Other than that food and ambiance you can’t beat this place!
We have been dozens of times to this local gem. Fit for foodies with a great atmosphere and menu. If you go during their music periods you will get a special treat! Service folks work very hard to make it all come together. The best part of a San Jacinto Hike or backpack is lunch or dinner at Ferros with friend/s. Hi Taylor!
I enjoyed a wonderful salad, Brian the server was very professional, beautiful atmosphere.
It is a beautiful restaurant, the best salad in town. The whether was terrific and our waitress or female server was fast and very professional.
Great food and attentive service. We will be coming back soon.
Quite pricey but food is FANTASTIC and consistently so!
Love This restaurant. Wonderful food, lovely people.
Nice outdoor patio with a nice jazz trio playing (not too loud) in the background. The server was harried but nice. The food was not good at all. I ordered vegetable lasagna and it was ice cold inside. The cheese layer on top was very thick and not melted. I think it had been frozen and barely reheated. The server kindly suggested spaghetti marinara with vegetables. It came in a bowl of soup? Basically tomato bisque, not marinara sauce. For $19! They only had two of the desserts on the menu (out of about 6 or so). I passed on that. My cocktail was good, thank goodness.
Made my husbands birthday dinner really special! Food was excellent and wonderful ambiance on the patio. Would definitely eat there again!
We ate outside on a very busy Thursday night. Service was spotty. We actually received more attention from the busboy than our harried waitress, who disappeared after taking our orders, and who never returned promptly to ask if all was good. My lasagna was over-cooked, not hot, and dried-out, the other entrees in our party were okay but not carefully prepared or plated. Even so, the atmosphere is wonderful, and the live music is great
As always a great experience. The back patio is magical. Great music.
Always a fantastic experience. excellent food and service. Hostess, bartender and waitstaff super friendly and helpful.
I love Ferro. I was organized and actually made reservations for once so we could sit on the back patio. Then there was no band which was disappointing. Still great food.
The server although good for how many tables she had to manage was overworked and consequently we were neglected. The pasta that my 2 guests ordered was done so poorly (worst pasta I have ever tasted) My one guest ordered an alternative pasta dish that was still so very poor. We would have stayed for desert but left due to our disappointment in the food quality of pasta.
This is our second time dining at Ferro. It is one of the better restaurants in Idyllwild. We always sit on the back patio. The food was very good and the service was excellent. We will return to this restaurant on a future trip to Idyllwild.
This was a very special day in that we were celebrating the sixth birthday of our Welsh Corgi, Emmy. Our other Corgis, Cooper & Toni we’re also on hand. We were welcomed & shown to our table in the back, shaded patio. The three adults enjoyed glasses of Procecco, pizza, fresh salads, along with an Italian sub. Our day couldn’t have been better. This was our second celebration with our pups. We plan to make this an annual event.
I don’t have one negative thing to say about this restaurant. The service, the food, the ambiance and views were all fantastic! We will most certainly be back when we are back in town.
Fine dining in a well curated, rustic luxury atmosphere.
We visit Ferro's in Idyllwild at least twice every 6-8 weeks when we spend a week or two at our vacation house in Idyllwild. The food, service, ambiance was just as excellent this time as it is every time we go. We like Fri/Sat for the entertainment and this time we went a third time on a Tuesday and were delighted to find a trio group playing nice soft dinner music. This place is a must for anyone that likes Italian food, and who doesn't, and my objective is to try EVERYTHING on the menu. I have been through 15 of their main entries and sill have 15-20 to go. If you go there, don't forget to have a PIZZA ... they are the BEST !!!!!
The pasta and pizza were incredibly tasty. My only complaint is that I ate too much and had trouble getting to sleep. It is hard to blame this on Ferro....since I'd do it again and again!
Overall, something was off for me. I don't usually eat out Italian, and my boyfriend wanted Italian the night before so we ate at Fratellos, which was very delicious!
1. On this reservation I said it was his birthday. Not sure if the app notifies the restaurant, but he wasn't even acknowledged.
2. We showed up on time for our reservation, a couple before us showed up early and mentioned that. The hostess seated them and didn't ask about us and we were the only other people waiting to be seated.
3. Like I said this could be because of eating Italian two nights in a row, but nothing seemed appealing to me on the menu. I ordered a pizza and did not like it at all. The flavor expectation I had was not there. I should have requested to make my own pizza from the extra topping list, but didn't want to be difficult.my boyfriend liked his, he ordered linguine Bolognese and liked the spice, I wasn't a fan, but thought the noodle texture would have been awesome in a carbonara or spaghetti. We ordered the chocolate tort for dessert and it was good!
Spiros is the best server in Idyllwild! He made this birthday surprise very special!
AS ALWAYS: Food great, atmosphere great, service great, entertainment great, prices right in line with all Restaurants!
We come up to idyllwild every 4 weeks for a week stay and Ferro’s is always a 2 time visit.
We are from San Diego and came up to Idyllwild for a few days. We ate here late (after the movies), and the restaurant was accommodating with our reservation time in this regard. It was a music night, so it seemed a bit harried in tone/ambiance. The food amounts were not very large but were substantial in taste and fulfillment. The wine list was good...we likely will return.
Our favorite place to eat in Idyllwild. Great wood fired pizza, especially the one with sausage and fennel pollen.
Attentive engaging service
Ferro is a wonderful rustic gem in the Idyllwild community! I went with my boyfriend for our anniversary on a Saturday night. We sat outside, and the ambiance was wonderful. They had live music, and it wasn't too loud, and it wasn't too soft. The food was amazing, and the wine was even better. Our server was both attentive, but did not hover. I would highly recommend! Especially the cheese plate!
THE best pork chop, anywhere. We recommend Ferros for any occassion.
Fantastic service, food and ambience. Always a pleasure.
Two of us had bad meals. The gluten free pasta was terrible. There were very few clams in the steamed clams and the broth was tepid. The dressing on the Caesar salad had a bad taste. The two of us who ordered the seafood soup liked it.
Prices a little high, food was delicious, portions not too big or too small, very accommodating staff, table reserved thru OpenTable was ready for us.
We came to Ferro for the second time. Everything is very good, the linguini Bolognese is really outstanding. The band that was there on July 4 was entertaining and the volume of their performance was just right. All the servers and staff were super attentive and the outside tables have a nice ambiance. We also bring our dog with us and they don't mind, also bringing her water. It's a great restaurant and we love it.
If you want true Italian food, look no further! Ferro has the best Italian Food in Idyllwild!
We had two birthdays with the whole family the food was excellent our dessert homemade tiramisu and homemade blueberry ice cream
Our favorite place in Idyllwild! Great food, well prepared and presented. Nice selection of wines and drinks, and the Budino is fantastic for dessert!
FERRO is one of my favorite restaurants here in Idyllwild. The food is always cooked to perfection, the staff are friendly and the ambiance is amazing.
Drove up from Palm Springs for a honeymoon celebration. It was a lovely experience!
We look forward to going to Ferro every time we're in Idyllwild, though this time was less than excellent. Our friends reported that their plates of wild boar lasagna and spaghetti and meatballs were great; however our cacio e pepe was dry, not creamy and cheesy, with just a sprinkle of pepper on top. The branzino was ok - nothing special. The GF pizza we had as an appetizer was fair - the crust was the pre-made variety; there are much better pizza doughs that are GF. Since our bill was considerable (with a bottle of wine and desserts), we feel less inclined to return on our next visit.
