As always, ambiance was great. Always a treat to have Tuesday Jazz. Unfortunately, there was a rather rude dog owner at the Pizza bar who felt it was his right to have his aggressive dog there in an, otherwise, very dog friendly environment. He aggressively lunged and barred his teeth at another sweet dog that was going no where near him. THEN, the dog's owner decided to tie his aggressive, white, larger dog to the chair at the pizza bar (unsecured at best) abandoning him, and reseat himself at a vacant table. The dog, then made himself a nuisance with the people at the table closest to him, sticking his nose into their laps and interrupting their meal. They were clearly annoyed, and the man just laughed it off. We have seen this person do this in the past, so I hope you watch out for him in the future. I love that Ferro is a safe place for all our fur children.

Ferro’s food and ambiance are superb. Our favorites are the sausage and fennel pollen pizza, Caesar salad and the polenta and broccolini. The seating is super comfortable and affords a fine dining type of experience. All in all this is one of my top restaurants in SoCal.

We really enjoyed Ferro. I loved that the minute that we sat down, the waiter brought over olives and bread sticks. Restaurants now do not give you anything gratis. The mains were great and the desserts and drinks were delicious. We will be back!

Our experience was alright - service was excellent and attentive 5/5. The dishes we had were heavy handed and forgettable. We were sat indoors and I suspect the outdoor experience is better. Would return, but wouldn't rush to do it.

The was our first time at Ferro and we would recommend it. We made a last minute booking for a one-night anniversary get-away to Idyllwild and selected Ferro for dinner. I opted for patio seating but did not realize there was a front and back patio. We were directed to the front patio which was a little disappointing as I had only seen the back patio pictures online. The back patio looked onto a shaded wooded space; the front patio was located in the blazing setting sun facing the street. However, the sun was soon behind the trees and I cold see again, the heat abated, and traffic was light, I also soon realized that the live band on the back patio was probably louder than I would have enjoyed sitting next to and was still quite audible up front so, we were happy to be able to carry on a conversation without raising our voices. I started with a Tito's vodka martini that was large, dry and cold - perfect. We shared the Insalata Burrata salad to begin. Everything - tomatoes, basil, and burrata were summer fresh and tasty. I ordered the Linguine e Pollo con Crema al Limone. It was delicious and I had to fend off my husband's fork on repeated forays. My husband ordered the Braciola di Maiale - a thick-cut pork chop. He never specified preferred level of doneness and, although it arrived with no pink in the middle, it was still tasty. For dessert, we shared the Torta Italiana all’Acqua all’ Arancia - orange water cake with lemon sorbet. I love citrus anything so, this was a perfect finish for our meal. Light, tart and refreshing. Service was prompt and attentive. Our server was welcoming and friendly and congratulated us on our anniversary. The bus staff were numerous and stopped at our table frequently to replenish the breadsticks and olives appetizer platter and to keep our water glasses full and cold. All in all, a wonderful anniversary dinner.

This is the third straight year my mom and I have come to Ferro. We absolutely love the food and the ambiance and the service. This visit unfortunately was shrouded by an interaction that left me feeling upset and unwanted. We made a reservation in advance for jazz night and were called and told we could get seating at the pizza bar for view of the jazz performance, which was fantastic. When we arrived we stood in line at the podium and the host took the party in front of us. Immediately an employee walked up and greeted us and asked if we had a reservation, and I gave her my name. She said to wait a minute until a host came but then changed her mind and said she could take us back, so we followed her to the beautiful back patio to the pizza bar. We were greeted by another server and given water and breadsticks. The vibe was great and the ambiance was perfect, but then we were interrupted by a young male host whose name I did not get. He came with hands clasped with no introduction saying “Next time you need to wait until a host comes and seats you” my mother and I quickly tried to explain that we were seated by one of their staff, assuming he thought we had seated ourselves. The host cut us off and continued to berate us, saying that all of the other hosts were busy helping OTHER guests, and that the stress and moving pieces of the jazz night made it so a lot was going on. I told him I totally understood that, but question “why he was coming at us like this, we were seated by one of your employees, we did not know better.” He then said “YES and we already spoke with her but now we are speaking with YOU. You need to wait by the podium next time for a host.” The young man came with an aggressive and combative tone that made me extremely uncomfortable. I repeated that “we are just guests and that we don’t work here” and he proceeded to cut me off again and stormed away. The rest of the service was wonderful and the food delicious. Guests should be treated with respect

Drove up to idyllwild to ecape the desert heat and had Lunch here. What a treat! Beautiful venue. Live music outside with excellent service and delicious food. One of the best dining experiences I've had in a while! I had the cacio e pepe with porchetta. My husband had the linguine with chicken in a creamy lemon sauce. Both were delicious but the red quinoa salad with orange, fennel and roasted pistachios was over the top! Can't wait to come back and try one of their pizzas.
