Ferrari's Italian Villa-Addison
We came in with a party of 9 and had outstanding service and food. Thank
Food was great and they accommodated a large group on moments notice. Filet was surprisingly good and pasta dishes were all exactly as hoped (excellent! )
Uneven to poor. The food was generally acceptable, but bland and with complete lack of creativity. Everything needed at least a dash of salt (which was not even found on the table) and a good shake of pepper (which was very reluctantly brought by the waiter after asking multiple times). Salads were not crisp and cold, more sort of luke-cold and semi-flimsy. Marinara was average; al fredo was much more cream (or milk) than parmesan and butter. Pasta tased fresh, though. Veal scaloppine had good flavor, but was a very small portion. Sea bass was undercooked and quite bland; pesto risotto was equal parts bland and watery rice, sour sun-dried tomatoes, and nondescript, oily pesto. Desserts options were slim (about three cliches and ice cream). No specials.
Careful of the sodas - $7 Shirley Temples with no free refills add up quickly with thirsty children.
Kitchen timing was all over the place (aka poor). Kids meals came last. One main dish forgotten and one salad forgotten. Large time gap between ordering and bread and then first course. One of the centerpieces of the room is an open pizza kitchen with a mirror that reflects the working space. However, the pizza chef looked intensely bored and the main object in the reflection was an ugly Tupperware container. nothing at all attractive to watch.
Service was really inattentive - missed silverware, missed orders, slow pacing, no salt or pepper, even when asked, sloppy serving, no apologies for the poor kitchen timing, no recommendations, no descriptions. And mandatory tip (although I suppose I could have been direct and refused the full 20% that was requested and added on).
Dining room was faded and had a leftover and forgotten ambience - like everyone forgot about this restaurant (for a good reason).
No house manager, maitre d', or owner to talk to about our sloppy experience.
Not sure what the good ratings are about. This restaurant is not really presentable - not the food, the ambience, or the service.
Great experience except the service was slow
We had a wonderful evening surprising our dear friend for her birthday dinner. Our waiter was attentive and our food was delicious. It was a very nice evening for us and we appreciate how nice everything was.
I hadn’t been to the restaurant in a very long time. I found the food and service to be lacking from my prior visits. For a Wednesday night there were only a few tables occupied yet the waiters were talking among themselves and not very focused on the diners. The food was okay but certainly not to the level it used to be. Perhaps it was just an off night, I hope so.
Very nice place. Delicious food and great service. Perfect atmosphere for Italian cuisine with wood fired oven. Hot bread comes straight out of the oven. Authentic food tastefully served!
Such an amazing night! Service was excellent and the food was amazing. Wonderful wine list too 😎
The food was sub par. Restaurant is super old. The waiter got me chicken instead of Salmon. He wasn't paying attention and had this cavalier attitude. All members of the team mentioned that the food at Olive Garden is much better -thats a low standard as I have lived in Italy for many years. Sloppy service with a don't care attitude
Everything Wes delicious and our server was attentive and great! We will definitely be coming back!
Great atmosphere, delicious food and fine service. Wood fired bread is excellent. Medallions of filet is outstanding. Fun evening!!
Ferrari's has been one of our favorites for a long time. Unfortunately our dining experience on Saturday night was not good. Food was very good as usual. However the service was the worst we've had in a restaurant of this caliber. The waiter forgot to bring a spoon for the soup. We had to ask another waiter to get the spoon. Our waiter also forgot to bring our wine order. We had to ask the hostess to find him. Two in our party asked to have the leftovers boxed to take home. He only did that for one. His attitude was not friendly at all.
Really enjoyed our first time here ams group of 5 adults. Loved the atmosphere, could talk easily and the food was spot on!
Went here for my 30th Birthday dinner and with a large party of 18. The service was amassing our food came out so fast. I will definitely go back for sure.
Great food and pricing!! Will recommend
Awesome as always. Great service and a Italian menu that is not cookie cutter.
Lived in Dallas a long time, but had never tried the restaurant. My wife and I were hungry for an Italian dinner, but we had stopped by our local club for a drink and an appetizer, so we were really just looking for a nice meal. I made a quick reservation on open table and we were able to get right in. When we arrived the restaurant was at about 50% occupied, yet they scrunched everyone into a 1/3 of the restaurant. They wedged my wife and I into a two person table that was less than an arms length away from a group of four and up next to the bar and great view of people going in and out of the bathroom. Although the food was very nice and would go back for that alone, the rest of the experience was not enjoyable. We were there for nearly 2 hours for a glass of wine and two entrées, we were told that because we didn’t order an appetizer it threw off the schedule, that was a bit disappointing to hear. On a positive side the focaccia bread you receive as you sit down and our entrées which was the veal scallopini, were both very good. Just be sure when you go to ask for a better positioned table. It almost felt since I made it on open table that we got a poor positioned seat.
Ferraris is an excellent restaurant, their owners and longtime staff generally care about the quality of food and your experience. Ferraris is always been my go-to restaurant for a delicious comfortable dining experience that is clearly upscale without the upscale price.
