Fenicci's of Hershey Ratings and Reviews
I have been dining at Fenicci's for more years than I care to admit, going back to when it was the DeAngelis Restaurant with Bob and Ginny tending bar.
The current owner has kept the warm family atmosphere and the quality of the food intact. It is always a pleasure to visit Fenicci's
We have been eating at Fenicci’s regularly for the last ten years. Unfortunately, tonight was a horrific experience. We ordered an appetizer that never arrived. We asked for it three separate times and were told it was coming. It never did, however, I would never complain about this. Appetizers getting lost in the shuffle happen all the time. My three-year old daughter’s food did not come out with our meal. We asked for it two more times and finally, when it did come out, the chicken was completely raw on the inside. Luckily, we cut up the chicken for her to eat easier instead of her biting directly into it. At this point, we did ask for a manager because our waitress went completely MIA. We have previously loved Fenacci’s and it is incredibly unfortunate that this happened. The way the entire situation was handled has made us re-think ever eating there again.
We had a delightful dinner before the theater. The food was excellent and our server, Mary, was absolutely lovely. The entire staff could not have been nicer or friendlier. We were able to have a delicious, leisurely meal with plenty of time to get to our show.
Great pre-theater meal!
Well known for Italian food, Fenicci’s did not disappoint. I had Veal Scaloppini and my wife had Lasagna, both were very good. The house speciality, meatballs as an appetizer lived up to its “billing”. Make sure you save room for dessert the frozen limoncello and frozen Hazelnut Strachellata were excellent!!
The staff was very much cognizant of the theater start time and made the evening very relaxing!
We were very disappointed with our experience at Fenicci’s. We made an OpenTable reservation, primarily for my mother in law’s birthday, but also prior to attending a show at the theater. Our food took 45 minutes to arrive at the table, almost an hour after we arrived, and we didn’t have enough time to eat before needing to leave for the show. Our server apologized for the food delay but the restaurant manager or owner did not apologize nor did they offer any accommodation for the exceptionally long wait. We ended up taking most of the food home afterwards. We would not recommend to other groups, especially if you have somewhere to go after dinner, nor will we go back again.
This was the third time there..... The food and server were wonderful..... but the wait time was poor. Had to wait over an hour for food to come out of the kitchen and the appetizer had not come out.... We canceled it. We will return; hope that the kitchen service is better..... If you are going to the theatre, make sure you are there by 5:00 to 5:15.... We were there at 5:30 and cut it too close due to the kitchen. We knew what we wanted and ordered immediately, and our server put our order right in. The meal did not come out until 6:50.
Another great experience at Fenicci's, a local favorite. Our waitress Amanda was friendly and attentive. We asked for a table near a window in our reservation and they accommodated us! The food was great. Drink menu was nice. The only disappointment is that they always seem to run out of certain desserts by 6 PM.
I met Phil when I was on vacation in Lancaster. I am from NJ. He told me about the restaurant. Since I already had tickets for Kinky Boots I decided to eat here. The food was amazing. The pasta with pesto and vegetables was so delicious. I wish I lived closer, I would go for dinner frequently. Thanks for a great meal.
Food was ok nothing out of the ordinary. We were served totally frozen hard as a rock peanut butter pie for dessert. When we inquired our waitress said "oh yes we freeze our pies" . We all though this to be just a bit strange. I will say that it is a cozy and friendly place. I'd go back for that.
Meatballs were great. Seating on patio wax cozy for november. Service was not so good. No bread or first drink requested was delivered. Pizza was awful. Didnt care for family style salad. Also $3.95 extra charge for mozz on meatballs was ridiculous an unknown at time of order. Nor was the price of chianti that was recommended by server. We were not given a wine list that included prices. Turns out it was $16 vs the house cab that was originally ordered. Will sit at bar next time. Better service.
I have had the pleasure of going to Fenicci's for 59 years! My dad bartended back in the day there and I bussed tables as a teenager when it was DeAngelis Restaurant. It will always hold a special place in my heart. My family still enjoys it to this day. Family and friends celebrate birthdays and holidays, special occasions and not so special occasions there. I would recommend it in a heartbeat. Keep up the great work. My only suggestion would be to serve that chopped salad with every meal (with the mozzarella cheese - yum!) and to do something about the house dressing - it's very vinegar-y.
Wow. Worst experience ever. App was just not good. Some mushroom spinach concoction was cold and tough. So on to main courses. Wife had seafood fettuccini alfredo. Pasta was undercooked and mushy. I had veal scallopini. Also under cooked pasta. Not al dente but clearly starchy and mushy and under cooked. The veal was too thick for a scallopini not pounded out and tenderized properly could not be cut with a fork. So manager came over and when told about these clearly unacceptable food quality issues .. she stormed away. And then tried to charge us for meals we sent back and never ate. Really a crap experience. Come on , do your veal right and can't grasp why the pasta was so starchy and mushy. It's pasta. Clearly it went in the sautée pan in bad shape But the worst part was the " managers " attitude. No apology. Not even interested in trying the bad food just attitude. Never again and will tell everyone to avoid this dump
First time visit while in Hershey. My wife and i have the same birthday usually go to a local to us Italian restaurant. However this year we were travelling and I booked Fenicci's based on the menu and reviews here.
It was VERY busy night, yet we were taken to our table right on time for 7:30. We heard them tell those without a reservation that the wait was at least an hour, so they were VERY busy.
Our drink and food orders were taken quickly and it was obvious that the waitress was working hard. I had the meatball appetizer (order by the number you want) with their homemade marinara sauce and it was obvious that they are home made; the meat seemed denser and the sauce delicious.
I also recommend the veal parm. BUT, in a first for me, they list fresh and patty. ORDER THE FRESH! It was as good as any I've had. A large, thin veal , crisp breading, melted provolone and the same marinara. A side of spaghetti and it was all delish! Came with a house salad and their homemade Italian dressing, served in a bottle that you need shake. Seeing the amount of salad, I could have done without the meatball app, but I'm glad I had the meatballs too.
Room had a moderate noise level but I think that was mostly due to the number of people and a group of 20 came in about halfway through our meal. Still, we were easily able to talk without raised voices.
Overall, given how busy it was, I thought the overall experience was wonderful, particularly for a restaurant in a new place and that we really knew nothing about and booked on advice here. It doesn't look like much from the outside and inside is dated, but the food is well worth it.
not what i expected, restaurant is old and doesnt look like its been renovated since 1935.....food and service was good, waitress was very attentive to our needs...
despite the appearance the staff was very nice and even provided a complimentary dessert for my daughters birthday...unlikely to make a return trip
