   Tough review Service needs time to mature for a true steak place Tues they advertise a tomahawk special when we arrived server said we don’t have that when we showed him the website promo he said they ran out of tomahawk - a bit suspect and JV Finally didn’t have the wine we ordered and overall not a place I could recc which is disappointing since we are local I would not go

   Food was very good, service and organization was horrible. Although the server was nice and polite, everything took ages to come out while there was barely anyone in the restaurant. Wife sent back her steak because it was too rare and it took an additional 30 min to come back out, took so long that they brought out dessert before the steak came back out.

   The restaurant is beautiful and spacious. But, the food and service left much to be desired. We ordered the tomahawk steak. It is about $160. We ordered it medium rare, it was well done. It was allegedly 40 ounces. It was not enough for 2 couples. The sides that came with it were small in portion and arrived cold. The server completely forgot to bring out one of the sides and it didn't arrive until after we finished our meal. We had to ask about it at least twice. The bill was about $400 and we left hungry and not very happy. Plus we sat next to the band. We asked to move because we couldn't hear one another speak but there were no other tables. I would rethink where you place the band.

   What I thought was just a rebrand actually turned out to be a pretty successful overhaul at Felina Steak at Village Hall. We visited on Saturday night to celebrate a birthday and Mother's Day largely out of convenience and availability. We've been to this location several times when it was just Village Hall and it was fine. A slightly elevated dining experience in a small suburban town with no real memorable dishes, amenities, services or cocktails but it was nice a nice enough option for locals and when entertaining out-of-towners. But this recent revamp to Felina Steak was actually a delightful surprise. Customized menus for the birthday honoree, table-side ice-hold martinis, probably one of the best steaks in the area, well executed dishes all around and even a better version of the one dish I remember from the previous iteration, the Chicken Milanese. This updated version was a better overall cut of chicken, piping hot, well seasoned and topped with a perfectly dressed arugula and tomato salad. I'll definitely be back soon to order it along with either the Imagery Pinot Noir or the beautifully crisp Monkey 47 martini I had on Saturday... or maybe both! Before we arrived, my son asked if the pizza on the menu was American-style or Italian-style (lol) and was pleased to see the wood burning oven at the farside of the dining room before we were seated. He sighed with relief and leaned over to whisper "italian-style" in my ear before placing his obligatory pepperoni pizza order. When it arrived at the table he proceeded to devour half while raving about the quality! The other half was boxed for later and he was handed a coat check tag to retrieve it as we left... a nice touch but of course we forgot the to-go box when we left the restaurant and didn't realize it until we got home... but what could have been annoyance turned into an opportunity. We returned to Felina WITHOUT a child in tow to retrieve the forgotten pizza... and possibly a nightcap!

   I want to love this place but there is nothing special about the food. It’s not bad. It’s fine. Ambiance is lovely but when empty it’s sad - because it’s cavernous- and when it’s full it’s hard to hear.

   This is our third time dining since the opening of Felina Steak and each visit has been excellent. The service, drinks, and food were all great. The meal was properly paced and our appetizer(calamari), pasta(ragu), and pizza(pepperoni) were all delicious. I would highly recommend a meal at Felina Steak - South Orange.

   Did not have a majority of items on the menu available on a Saturday evening by 8PM. The steaks they did have were overcooked significantly. Would never return

    We went there on a Saturday night with another couple. Our service was great and prompt. We had oysters (yum), Caesar salad (very meh), branzino, salmon and chicken Milanese which were all delicious. Our cosmos tasted like there wasn’t vodka in it and after sending back, they still were overpoweringly sweet. It was noisy and while the jazz musicians were talented, it only added to the loudness of the large venue. Better than a blasting speaker system though! Overall, I would recommend and hope they stay in business for a long time!
