Great Sommelier and food Service just ok
Did not quite live up to its billing. Pasta was good but steak was disappointing for a restaurant of this reputation and prices. Wine list was good.
We were brought upstairs to a table by the wines. We started the evening alone but it was filled by the end of the meal. Still the ambiance was perfect. The service was attentive, even when it filled up. The bread service contained such a variety, each delicious. Raving about the bread is just the start.
The menu is not large which I thank them for. We went with the dinner for two. The options and choices are described wonderfully, but enjoying the actual food is a thrill. The pastas are light and delicious. Two are brought and going back and forth trying to determine which to end on was a challenge.
The main courses were equally wonderful. The veal was so tender, the lamb chops were delectable. Though the braised portion is not my favorite, it did not detract in any way from the meal.
We had to catch a show so we couldn't bring anything with us. But we wanted to.
The food, the experience, everything was beyond first class.
Felidia is an excellent and expensive restaurant, but not for the elderly with knee problems if are seated in the loft which is up a steep fight of stairs and very noisy to boot. In addition, the restrooms are down a steep flight of stairs. I will not go back unless we are seated in the street level dining room.
A family business that makes even first time guests feel welcome. Excellent service, first rate cuisine and extensive wine list make this a cozy, under the radar experience!
Forget all the overhyped new arrivals. This is still the finest Italian restaurant in New York.
Thought the food was very good and the flavors were definitely on point. No complaints with the beef carpaccio appetizer, the eggplant parmigiana or the tiramisud. Only disappointment was with the parpadelle pasta with wild duck. The sauce and the duck were excellent, but the pasta was overcooked. Was pretty disappointed with that considering the reputation of the restaurant.
The food was outstanding and the service was terrific. It is worth the price. Excellent!
Had the worst waiter. He was extremely pushy and rude. He kept on trying to rush us out the door . My tip reflects his awful service. Want to make sure you call him waiter he wore a grey suit had an accent. Embarrassing experience
This is my favorite East Side restaurant for any occasion. The Staff is one of the best in New York City and the food is always excellent. A very special place to spend an evening.
The service was impeccable from the maître d’ to the waiters.
The food was delicious, the options were plenty, the recommendations for the wine was fantastic!
We will be back.
Love Lidia's cooking show and have watched her for many years. We spent the weekend in
New York City and met my daughter and her new boyfriend there. All of us enjoyed the meal and ambiance immensely - we were able to hear conversations and the waiters were flawless and unobtrusive - definitely a favorite and will go back again.
PS - The boyfriend is a keeper too!
The food is great. Enjoy desert
exceptional service, 5 star quality, very attentive and kind staff, wonderful atmosphere
Food was best of the best. Completely delicious, beautiful, surprising, totally confident and fantastic.
Felidia is one great experience after another. From their amazing, always there but never in the way service to the gluten free services. And it’s all just.... perfectly prepared.
Delicious food and just the right portion for me.
Always great. Food is terrific and service impeccable. Price at lunch is also good for the current corporate standards to reduce business lunch expenses
I have been to Felidia three times before and I considered it one of the best Italian restaurants in town. I brought my mother (84 years old) from South America to NY in order to celebrate her birthday and did reserve at Felidia alongside my partner. We were truly disappointed. Appetizers were just ok. We had the pasta with black truffles: such a simple dish if correctly done. It was ok, you cannot miss that if you have good black truffle but the pasta was not al dente, the butter too liquid, whatever. My veal was simply fair, green and white asparagus overcooked, my everyday trattoria in QNS does it better. The dessert were disastruos: awful mis à plat, and worst Tiramisú in longtime. My mother is very easy-going and lives in Caracas, so she was happy. We were silently unhappy. Of course the wine was great, but that is not a virtue to be count for the restaurant. This place has gone down awfully. It does not even have a grade 'A' from New York Health Department -quite disguised behind flowers in the window you can se a rutilant 'B'. I know: that could be a totally food-unrelated fact, but.... Unfortunately Felidia is out of my list and I won't go back to there. This was not a dinner worth 450 dollars for three people!
Beautiful, calm atmosphere. The staff is so attentive that at times a server was hovering too close to our table just waiting to clear our plates.
The food is first class though the portions are not overly generous. Many choices made with the best ingredients and creativity.
It is a lovely place for a relaxing and pricey meal. An oasis of calm in a city where many restaurants have a frenetic atmosphere.
Spring Break menu was a great value. The food was perfectly prepared and delicious as always. Generous portions.
A wonderful evening with friends. Outstanding food and wine, and very attentive service.
Best Italian in the neighborhood !!!
There is no better place in Manhattan. The food is authentic and amazing, service is very personable and genuinely attentive. The atmosphere is warm, pleasant and appropriate for any occasion.
I went to Felidia exactly 2 years to the date of when we went yesterday, and compared to the first time I went, I left truly underwhelmed.
The restaurant had been recommended by a former staff member of the Food Network and graduate of the French Culinary Institute. She was absolutely correct: it is one of the very finest restaurants in New York City!
All the dishes at our table were perfectly prepared and presented, the service was carefully staged so that all dishes arrived and left without any distraction from our conversations, and each meal was imaginatively created, prepared and served.
Our only complaint was that we were seated at the back of the restaurant at what seemed to be a lovely table. Only problems were (1) air conditioning causing a draft (it was stormy and cold outside) and the ceiling was lower at our end of the room. Therefore, (2) the couple seated not far away from our table of four had voices that were magnified by the room, and they made it very hard for us to hear each other.
We will remember our wine and meals for a long, long time! We look forward to a return visit to Felidia!
Excellent food and service in a very pleasant setting. Very reliable.
What a wonderful experience. This was our 3rd time at Felidia and it never disappoints, it is worth the expense. Food is phenomenal, the service is just over the roof wonderful and the staff make you feel so comfortable. Easily our favorite special occasion place in NYC.
Spectacular!! Chef Nicotra and his staff never fail in delivering a fabulous dining experience. Chrf's creation are beyond oppulent and amazing. His staff is super accomadating and pleasant. Nicotra is the best chef in NYC hands down
Felidia delivered a wonderful Easter meal for us. We ordered off the tasting menu and each course was better than the next. The kids really enjoyed the tin of fresh made cookies and the other pastries. The staff was polished and very attentive. The setting was warm and bright. Felidia is a great pick for a special occasion.
The food & service were amazing!!! I definitely want to return. The noise level was a bit of an issue but didn’t really care as the food was so delicious.
Without a doubt a terrific dining experience with great friendly, comfortable service
Tasting menu was a great deal!
The food really was outstanding. It pays to order the the combination dinner. Th veal chop was the best I’ve ever had. It’s like 2” thick. Great choice. Not a cheap meal, but worth it
I've been here several times, & always have a great meal. This most recent expetience didn't disappoint. I had the 3 course menu. Started with a selection of chicken livers......served 2ways. One serving was a pate, served with frisée and light cracker bread. The other serving were braised and served in a light butter & cream sauce, both were mouthwateringly delicious. For an entree I chose the veal cheeks "odor bucco" style. These were definitely a foodies' treat. lightly braised veal cheeks, served in their own veal & red wine jus, accompanied by perfectly cooked risotto and a broiled half marrow bone. The veal melted in my mouth, it was so tender. And the broiled marrow was the perfect mate. I followed the entree with The house "Felidia Tiramisud". This is Felidias take on the Classic dessert. A lady fingers& masarpone cheese with light espresso, all in a large glass bowl with shavings of white &milk chocolate. Just the right amount of sweetness. Service was spot on.
Fabulous experience- head waiter was delightful and presented wonderful recommendations and guidance on the best way to experience our first dinner at Felidia’s. Our neighboring diners were gracious and friendly and by the time we left both my daughter and I felt as though we were part of a “ family” of persons who were all enjoying amazing meals.
A superb evening, from beginning to end. Nothing could have been approved upon.
My daughter's birthday. Best meal and service!!!! Our favorite restaurant in NYC!! I have been coming here for over 25 years and never been disappointed. The food and service are the best!!!
It was amazing
