Fantastic food! The maitre d' made the specials sound so fantastic that we changed our mind and went with his recommendations - turned out to be a great decision! Enjoyed the whole experience and will return again!

Felidia, though nationally known, is two blocks from our apartment. That being said, it took us 16 years to get there. What a delightful surprise that we are now sorry to have missed all of those years. Though it is not a place we will go every week based on price, we will definitely return to mark many special occasions.

This was a special occasion for a birthday party that involved little grandchildren in attendance. The wait staff was very kind and helpful and tolerant of the slightly boisterous activities of the two little ones. We made the reservations for 5:30 pm, which was perfect, since there were fewer customers. The food was outstanding and lived up to our expectations of a restaurant owned by Lidia Bastianich, whom we watch often on television--big fans.

We've been eating at Lydia's place since she opened in Queens...!?!?! We keep coming back because it's that good!! The prix-fixe lunch is another reason to keep returning!!
We'll be back...!!!

Ravioli and fish had too much butter which left a heavy feeling; would have been better tasting just relying on seasoning; wine list was extensive; price was more reasonable than other mid-town restaurants

For once, there was not a huge back-up for tables and the desk was welcoming and cheerful. Our particular waiter was in a HUGE rush to get us to order racing through a huge list of specials beore he ofered cocktails. He BUGGED us to order and the place wasn't crowded.
Rest of staff was good,well-infomed and proficient.
Felidia is a teriffic place but this single waiter was REALLY annoying. He wanted things done when and as HE wanted them done. Then he's unable to tell us how MANY soft shellled crabs constituted an "order".

This is a gem! The food never ceases to amaze and delight us. The chicken livers with mushrooms is divine, as is the veal fillet. The wine list is most impressive, and the sommelier most helpful. while the prices are not inexpensive, the value is outstanding!

Lidia Bastianich is a landmark in the New York culinary scene and Felidia explains why. Exquisite Italian new cuisine. Every staff was very attentive and the chef made it an amazing experience in every bite. The upstairs room was humming with lively conversation, which was the perfect environment for our dinner.

We were in NYC for our 25th wedding anniversary. My wife "had" to go to Lidia's restaurant, being a huge fan. The food was incredible and served to perfection. The only problem we had was the service. We waited quite some time before we were approached by a waiter. After placing our order we waited again until we were severd some bread. After one bite of the bread our appetizers arrived, requiring us to clear the bread plates because the table was so small. After we finished our main course and still working on the bottle of wine we ordered, another waiter arrived with the desert menu, making us feel pushed. Sorry, but for a special occasion and for the money we paid, we deserved to take our time, relax and enjoy the evening.

We ended up sitting in the room that looked like a porch on the second floor. We ended up talking to the table next to us and having an excellent meal with great conversation. We were able to enjoy our wine with out being rushed. Felt like we were in Italy, dining with the purpose of pure enjoyment.

The service was especially attentive. We had the chef's tasting menu, which included grilled octopus (superb), ravioli (quite good), flat iron or hangar beef (good) and tiramisu (disappointing as a finisher...no cocoa, basically a limoncello cream).
My only real complaint is that they initially tried to seat us in an upstairs, see-through plastic enclosed, balcony or corridor kind of room. Fortunately, we were re-seated upon request or we would have left. Is this area for outsiders and out of towners? Or did my name strike the wrong note?

We had a great experience at Felidia. Big fans of Lidia on TV, we enjoyed the wholistic experience with wonderful food paired with a Bastianich wine. The Beef Carpaccio was very memorable. Our table next to the prepping station wasn't ideal as my husband left with tomato sauce stains on the back of this shirt, but he's a good sport and it was worth the dining experience.

Simply outstanding... the food was terrific and so was the service... the only thing that surpassed both was the incredible bottle of 2001 Brunello di Montalcino Vendemmia... I highly recommend Felidia.

the prix fixe was fantastic but it was confusing that the waiter did not explain that the dessert was included as he brought out the dessert menu with PRICES! This was the only downfall and should be corrected so custumers clearly understand whether dessert is included in the $29.50 price or not.

I have gone to Lidia's flagship NYC restaurant a half-dozen times, and I have NEVER been disappointed! My wife, who is a BIG FOODIE, joined me recently for the first time. She thought it was one of the BEST dinner's we have ever had anywhere in the world. I completely concur with her! Fresh ingredients. Simple flavors. Real food. Call ahead to see if Lidia is in - she's often in the kitchen, and will come out and chat with guests. Pretty soon you realize that this is NOT her restaurant - it's like her home. *8)

Felidia's food was spot-on and less "old fashioned" than others had led us to believe, but the service and welcome leave something to be desired. The soft-shell crab special I enjoyed was among the best I've had--delicately prepared and very lightly battered, as good as a plate of moeche I ate at Antiche Carampane in Venice--where I dined two tables away from the fisherman who caught them in the lagoon that morning. However, our table was mostly left to our own devices when a noisy party of three young men was seated in front of us. Nobody ever once asked us how things were with the primi or the secondi. That's almost unforgiveable in this category and this price point. I think the wine list could use some better choices by the glass.
