Felidia is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC for overall food, wine & service. However, this past weekend, which was not overly busy, the waiter told me the sommelier was too busy to recommend a wine. Bad answer. I eventually got a fantastic recommendation. Wait staff was a little off this time around.
Delicious, excellent quality, great service, highly recommended
Every time we visit NYC, Tom and staff at Felidia always create a fine dinning experience. The presentation, the taste, and the service is unbeatable. For example, their homemade pasta with shaved fresh Truffles seemed from heaven. The baked Branzino served with roasted vegetables is among the best we ever had. We highly recommend Felidia as one of the best flavorful authentic Italian restaurants in the NYC!
One of the best in NYC
We were treated very nicely. Service was exceptional. Entrees of pork chop pizzala and a veal were great as was the beef carpaccio appetizer. The octopus appetizer was pedestrian. Chocolate dessert wonderful. $7 for a green tea ridiculous.
It was nice to meet Lidia!
We love watching Lidia's PBS shows and couldn't wait to get to eat at Felidia. We were slightly overwhelmed by the menu. We did have a helpful waiter. We wish the entree prices were lower, but we expected to pay high prices. Our waiter brought us extra dessert cookies because he over heard us say how great they were. Dessert was our favorite part of the meal.
It was my first time, though I had heard great things from a friend. I took my adult kids with me, and we had a lovely, special dinner. I wanted to treat them to an elegant dinner, and this was it. But it wasn't stuffy either. The service was exceptional, and the food superb.
I can’t say enough how much we loved everything about this restaurant. Our final dinner in NYC on this trip before heading home twas Felidia. Wonderful, fantastic not a single complaint, outstanding Italian food. If you haven’t been here you must go.
For dinner we started with a Crudo Di Manzo appetizer: prime strip loin, beef semi carpaccio & tartare, hazelnut, grana padano, mushrooms with shaved black summer truffles. Awesome is an under statement and the truffles were perfection.
Then I had a Pappardelle with spinach pappardelle, hudson valley duck. You must have a pasta dish before leaving Felidia’s. The pasta is all handmade and there are no words for this dish other than, I am so happy!
I ordered a lot more food than we needed, but I followed this dish with another out of this planet, incredible fish feast, Grigliata with scallops, lobster, calamari, shrimp, little neck clams oreganata & razor clams alla piastra, spring vegetables. You cannot have food like this anywhere in the Bay Area, it’s a must.
My wife had a perfectly cooked Branzino baked mediterranean bass, zucchini, nocellara olive, green onion, which was cooked and seasoned to perfection. She loved her dinner.
You must save room for the incredible desserts. By the way we had no room when we arrived at dessert but we dug in anyway.
We ordered two, the first was a Meringhe lemon meringue, harry's strawberries, rhubarb & passion fruit sorbet. I hate lemon meringue but this one was out of this World. Harrys Strawberries were as good as any strawberries I have ever had.
We then followed this with a fantastic Cannolo
open cannoli, homemade ricotta, caramelized citrus, blood orange sauce. A lighter take on the traditional Cannoli another outstanding dessert.
Our standard must visit “casual” dinning every time we’re in NYC. Why? Food excellent; service great, and location is just a short ride to any show in the Theatre District.
Generally we take a casual dining approach; however, the most recent visit we had to squeeze dinner before a show with a request to be out ideally by 7:15pm. Safe to say, we weren’t disappointed as our experience lasted exactly 1 hr 45 mins.
Goes without saying, everyone in my party was “wowed” by the level of service, presentation and quality of every dish.
Wonderful food and service. We went to Felidia for our 31st Wedding Anniversary. While we enjoy Felidia, I certainly expected more for a “special occasion” restaurant. I was somewhat disappointed with the general ambiance of the restaurant. We will return, but not for a special occasion.
Went to Felidia for our 15th Wedding Anniversary. What a great choice! The staff and service was excellent and our meal was fabulous! Would highly recommend Felidia for your next special occasion.
Stellar- Felidia never disappoints.
Wonderful restaurant. Recommend for business, pleasure occasion
Everything about Felidia was wonderful. Food was terrific. We immediately felt welcomed by all of the staff. The waitstaff was great, especially Pepino who is adorable. I would highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
The same ingredients were used in too many of the dishes. The tables are much too close together. Over the years this very special restaurant has become commercial feeling instead of the romantic “get away” place it was.
One of the best meals I have ever eaten. The staff went out of their way to make everyone feel special. I cannot wait to return!!
A fantastic meal with superb but unobtrusive service
Felicia made our dining experience a memorable event.
We will be back hopefully very soon.
We have enjoyed dining at Felidia for a number of years now. The menu offers Italian classics with a lighter touch. The wine list is absolutely wonderful and the pairings are always spot on. We love exploring new wines, new grapes, and new pairings and come away having learned something new!
We found Felidia as wonderful as ever. Great food, professional, friendly service and a really enjoyable evening.
Great Service, Great Food. We enjoyed the Traditional Italian meal. Every course was excellently prepared and tasty. It was authentic down to the detail given the large entre portions, we all walked away feeling very full (though still couldn't resist the desert course!
Absolutely fantastic on all fronts! We will definitely be returning.
Solid, consistent performance.
First a little surprised by B rating in window. It seems construction next door has affected kitchen health.
Branzino was good but not great. Beet salad was nit particularly impressive; the spring vegetables were not fresh.
Spinach was ordered to come with branzino and never arrived.
We love this restaurant and everytime we are in New York try to visit.
This time the table was too small, I know that NY is particular on space, but this
particular table under any standard is way too small, it would be better not to have
one there at all. We could not concéntrate on our conversation, because the three ladies
next to us took over the noise factor, and they were not speaking too loud.
The food is great and everyone was very cordial and wonderful.
We will continue to visit and enjoy. Thank you.
Outstanding food and value!!! Pasta on par with Marea.
As always my 25th Time there and never disappoints. Good food and a good time. Maybe one day I will meet Lydia.
What a place. Beautiful romantic elegant Would come again
-food is exceptional, well worth money spent.
The whole experience is highly recommended
What a fabulous meal! Our evening at Felidia was perfect from start to finish. We enjoyed the Chef’s Tasting menu and all four of us loved every course. The staff was wonderful - very helpful and very friendly - and the food was delicious. I can’t wait to return!
Exquisite! Had the Chef’s Tasting Menu and it was wonderful!
The table next to us was very loud, something over which you have no control. Unfortunately it had an adverse impact on our meal.
As well my husband is a very slow eater and took unusually long to finish his first course. The waiters were hovering a bit and our second course was a bit overdone probably because of the delay. Perhaps the kitchen shouldn’t start the next course until the first is finished. The meal therefore seemed rushed.
Food and service were positively SUPERB!!!! The special grilled Prawn appetizer was delicious!! Prawns were moist, tender and seasoned to perfection. The special Filei pasta prepared with a slightly spicy rabbit ragu and carrots may just have been one of the most scrumptious, exquisite pastas I have ever eaten. The Busiati pasta dish, which consisted of hand rolled pasta served with roasted tomato sauce, zucchini and eggplant, was delectable - an excellent blending of textures and flavors.
Tilka, our server, was everything you want in a server - friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and attentive.
For a perfect ending to the evening, which was a celebration of my husband's birthday, a complimentary dish of cookies were served with a candle, birthday decorations on the plate plus a birthday card.
Great service - Somm was so helpful and passionate about guiding us through our courses.
We shared the Cacio E Pere ravioli as a starter--excellent. Then we had the Busiati and the spinach Pappardelle. Both were very good. We each had a glass of wine recommended by the server. It was a very nice dinner.
Dining at Felidia was an amazing experience . Everything was perfect and the food was outstanding .
The service, food and ambience were outstanding. This is one of the best restaurants in the US. It came highly recommended to us in Seattle from friends in NYC. The seafood is excellent as we ordered Chef Fortunato’s suggestion (didn’t even look at the menu). The detail to customer satisfaction is extraordinary. We will definitely come back again
Another outstanding meal at one of the best restaurants in NYC. It never disappoints!!
Was a fan of this place the first time i went and still am 25 years later.
