We had a great experience at Felidia....our kids were excited to dine at the restaurant and can’t wait to go back...hoping to meet Lidia next time....
We simply love eating at Felidia! Whenever in NY, that’s our restaurant of choice, since the old days of the general Maitre D, Kennedy!
This time we went twice to Felidia in a week’s time visit!
Great service. Everyone is obviously well trained. Not to noisy so we could actually talk without screaming. Food was also very good. Will def go back!!
Good welcome, but unremarkable pasta for two out of three diners. Complacent and unempathetic waiter. Incredibly high prices overall, with $200+ for three people to have a dish of pasta and eminently forgettable white wine. Very disappointing. Would not survive outside NYC?
the best restaurant in Manhattan
Outstanding in every way. The food was delicious and the service couldn't have been better.
Wonderful birthday lunch! Delicious food, beautifully presented. I had silken flavorful pasta with locally-sourced duck.
For dessert, I was presented with special seed and honey cookies, and was given some to take home when I praised them.
I had read Lydia’s memoir for a class, and this was my first time at the restaurant.
Indeed this was a memorable delicious dining experience.
We were put upstairs. Not known regulars.
I think the Felidia's was a rip off. For some reason Lidia Bastianich and Mario Batali think they can give you microscopic portions of food at exorbitant prices. I have been to all of Mario Batali's restaurants and would never rush back to any of them except for Babbo, but do not go there if you are hungry.
The dinner at the Felida's was just average. The $90 truffle pasta was tasteless.
I have had truffles all over Italy and in fact went truffle hunting last year with truffle dogs and took a cooking class with truffles so we know a bit about this delicacy.
I would save money for another restaurant. We have been to Scalini Fedeli at least 15 times for special occasions and for a Price fix $75 per person, it blows away this Lidia Bastianich institution.
Food and service was great. We had the Traditional Italian Dinner. All the courses were excellent; prepare and served with perfection. The only negative is that seating is tight.
As a long time fan of Lidia, I was surprised as we arrived that there was a B Grade Rating for the restaurant.
The sommelier was delightful and full of energy to present the pairing menu that was on point. The wines were deicious and well paired with the courses, good work! The first couple of courses on the tasting menu; the salmon, tuna and bass crudo was beautiful and spot on for taste; the Kale salad delicious but a little heavy; the first pasta course - stuffed ravioli with cheese and apple, so light and delicious, were phenomenal! The veal dish on the other hand was heavy and forgettable. I think it needed a but of light greens to balance the density of the veal.
My biggest disappointment was that Lidia was there and stopped at our table. She was cold and bothered, totally not what I was expecting. This is my third and last visit to Felidia. They missed an opportunity to wow us with the food and with Lidia's warmth and appreciation to have fans and guest. Her service was top notch, but she was not!
It’s an experience for your mind body and soul that you will never forget
Great food. Excellent service. Wonderful evening. Two thumbs up 👍👍!
NYC’s best classic Italian and has been for over 30 years
If it’s your first time, opt for the chefs tasting menu. It will give you an excellent array of dishes that gives you the opportunity to taste the breadth of talent the chefs have.
Always a lovely experience. My sister and I return because we love everything about felidia’s
Food service ambiance and proximity to Bloomingdales doesn’t hurt for lunch!!
The food is as good and as interesting as one would expect from watching Lydia's show.
Delightful lunch with a friend. We both had the same meal.
Beet salad followed by calves liver.
Perfection!
I have only one word: Outstanding.
Felidia remains one of the best, authentic Italian restaurant in the USA.
Food was excellent!! Wait staff was exceptional. Tim our waiter deserves special recognition. A wonder experience!,,
Outstanding establishment that has stood the test of time.
This is always a great dining experience. The room is comfortable, the service excellent and the food is always great!
Good was amazing and the staff was helpful and patient.
They squeezed us into a table between a wall and the prep cart. Waiters were pushy about hurrying us along. Food was delicious.
This was our fourth trip to Filidia, and the food was excellent as it always has been. The service was not up to its usual standards and that was disappointing. We had been invited to try the Winter Menu, a three course price fixed affair. When I asked the waiter about it, because it was not given to us, he stated that it was only available if we mentioned it when making our reservation. I thought this was a bit rude and forced me to ask for the less expensive option, which he gave us and we enjoyed. I just thought this could have been handled better from a place that we really love and enjoy.
Good food. Came too fast. A bit on the expensive side. Great wine list but also a bit expensive.
Amazing. Service was impeccable.
The service was terrible, and the wait staff are rude, and unfriendly. I expected better in terms of the quality of the food.
Fantastic. A big thank you for making the last food in NYC before heading home a tasty one!!
The downstairs dining has more ambience. We were seated in an upstairs dining room used for overflow. We should have been given a choice. Food was good but we were overwhelmed with the choices of family style, pre fix, chef’s choice, italian pasta and a la carte. Lost some if it’s charm in upstairs dining with all of the lights on.
The best Italian dining experience outside of Rome.
Our 35th wedding anniversary, had the Sunday ever g fixed menu - OUTSTANDING! Been coming here for 10 years on our anniversary and this was the best food experience yet!
The restaurant does not have food that you can say “wow” any longer. We found the food average. The veal dish was not warm. They still know how to cook pasta properly but the sauces were just okay.
The service was very good as expected.
The chairs were incredibly uncomfortable for me, anyway. With that, I could not enjoy my meal as much.
I wouldn’t return.
Delicious food and great ambience
The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. Would definitely go again
We booked and went on Valentines Day for dinner. Did not notice that restaurant was not offering a regular menu but Valentines day special 4 course menu at $158, which was almost 2 times more expensive than their other pri-fixes. Which is fine, since this restaurant is owned by Lidia's family and supposedly offered higher end dining experience, in addition to it being Valentines Day evening.
It was supposed to be 4 course meal - appetizer, pasta, main and dessert. Food was delicious, but was extremely small portions and we were still hungry by the end of it. But this meal stretched over 2 and half hours because the kitchen was really, really behind on sending out food. They were keeping diners waiting for more than 3 hours to serve the 4 courses. They actually tried to skip the pasta and served us the main course, but my wife noticed that they didn't serve the pasta and the server took the mains back. We then waited 30 more minutes to be served the small serving of pasta, which we ate with great gusto since it had been more than an hour since we were seated.
We were lucky and waited only 30 minutes for each course but couple sitting next to us were still waiting for their pasta course by the time we finished our meal around 11pm.
The staff seemed to be having their own issues, diners could hear them arguing, 4 people came to take our order, there seemed to be no coordination among the staff. Dining room on 2nd floor is small so we could see diners getting wrong entrees served, diners getting annoyed from long wait. Almost seemed liked diners were waiting for some producer to pop out and tell them that they were being pranked and everything was caught on camera. Unfortunately and obviously that did not happen and we ended up with a bill of almost $500 and left slightly hungry, amused and shocked. I will definitely write to them about my experience and ask for some of the gratuity back. They probably know that people will be contacting them with similar requests.
Went for Valentine’s Day. Have been many times before but not for last year. Was completely awful. Waited 30 minutes for table and food was very slow to come out. Pasta was cold and one uncooked. Staff was clearly discheveled. 500$ for two food and service should be far better!
This is the most consistent restaurant in NYC for food quality and service. The pecorino and pear ravioli is like no other pasta I've ever had and every guest we've taken there from around the world say the same. The service is swift, efficient and elegant without being stuffy. In fact, that's the feel of the entire restaurant. It's one of our top 3 go-to restaurants in NYC for an eventful night or just a delicious dinner out.
My partner & I went there on Valentine’s Day. We arrived a bit early for our reservation and they graciously sat us within minutes on the upstairs level which was only a quarter filled. Still many tables empty. They were offering a 4 course Valentines Day special menu for $158 pp. The wine selection is way overpriced by the bottle ($70-$6000!) with an average price I would say around $150. We opted for by the glass and cocktails. We each had the Manzo Appetizer which was astounding. For my 1st course I had the ravioli which was delicious but lukewarm. My partner had the tagliatelle which was excellent. For our 2nd course we each had the Manzo entree which also was amazing. The dessert sampling was hit or miss. The mini cupcakes were unimpressive, generic, dry and tasted store-bought. The almond cookies were the best of the bunch: flavorful and fresh. The tricolor sponge treat was delicious as so was the sorbet.
And now the service. Attentive but VERY SLOW. They were super quick to remove the plates (within a minute) as soon as we were done with the courses, but we waited about 15-20 minutes between each course. They were kind enough to continuously replenish the delicious bread basket. Our total dining time was 2hr & 20 minutes! I appreciate not feeling rushed when we are at an intimate dining experience however it took way to long to serve us.
Final note, the hostess couldn’t remember/find which were the items (coats & bags) we had checked in, to the point that I had to go to the coat check closet and point out the items.
Great food and service.
