A lovely dining experience for a special birthday. However, a $5 share charge for a salad, given this level of dining, is downright tacky.
Their $39 three courses menu was OK. A little disappointed in the preparation of some of our selections: the fish was very good, the veal, just acceptable, the meringue dessert was elegantly tasty but the portion was ridiculously small (and I am not a large size person). I would like to take this opportunity to recommend to the Management a serious training on your Maitre d"I who addressed me (I am over 70 years old) as "what is your selection young lady", and he did this in a couple of occasions when asking if I wanted more wine, for instance. This is not acceptable in my book. Thank you
An interesting experience. Both tables next to ours argued throughout the meal. Does really kill the mood. Pastas were good but was offered a finely grated light truffle mushroom garnish, as though they were adding grated Parmesan. Was charged $75.00 for the truffle garnish. Had a $31 dish with a minuscule $75 garnish! Been there once and won’t return.
Great atmosphere excellent food. The Chef is always trying new things...excellent wine menu! Can't say enough about this place..
The chef’s six course tasting was AMAZING. We also chose to do the wine pairing, and it was so worth it. The service was excellent, they were attentive and helpful. HIGHLY recommend. We had one of the truffle pastas, and I actually want to be buried with that pasta. It was to die for good
The food is fabulous and extraordinary in every respect. The quality, knowledge and preparation invested in the food is without question superb. The staff is terrific, patient and extremely knowledgeable. This is a terrific restaurant for people who love cooking and creative food. Be prepared to post your first born child as collateral for paying the check when you receive it.
I have never felt so uncomfortable at restaurant with the pushing of the Dining Menu for $90 per person.. I wanted to share a few dishes with my date and wasn’t able to do so without a plate fee.
Not coming back...
The service was excellent. Unfortunately, the food was not. I ordered the special, veal parmesan The waiter described it as covered in a tomato sauce with melted cheese. Although abundant, the meat and sauce were dry. The cheese was hard. It seemed like the dish had been sitting around for a long time. My husbsnd’s dish, zucca e romanasca, was bland.
Excellence all around, food, service, wine. A wonderful evening with the one and only Lydia.
Vanilla ice cream dessert was icy and ruined a good meal.
Very good experience. Food and service were excellent. Setting was very good as well. Would highly recommend.
A memorable meal in a very special restaurant. Thanks.
Felidia has an enticing reputation that interested us. We took friends to celebrate and occasion together and were ultimately disappointed. The staff was initially attentive. As one of the four guests dining I requested well done veal and was convinced to have it done medium-well. When all four dishes were brought to the table the veal was rare and had to be sent back. The remaining three guests ate cold food by the time the veal was returned. Then I, along with another guest, ordered tea. Tea was brought for one. Three servers had to be asked to bring the additional tea. I felt ignored and embarrassed to have yet something else go wrong. The other three guests had very good meals but to avoid being rude, as previously stated, they waited for me to eat. This took away from the enjoyment that we had looked forward to,
So disappointed! We dined at Felidia in May of last year and were blown away...in a good way. Everything was top notch. We recommended to friends that it would be the perfect place to start our NYC weekend. A special, veal Milanese, was unappetizing in appearance, tough in texture, and flavorless. Likewise, the liver, although palatable itself, was served with a smattering of pickled red onions...unappealing and discordant in their pairing with the liver. I may be a rube, but when I think of liver and onions, I think of loads of carmelized onions...with bacon too.
The quail and steak choices were, however, a big hit with those who ordered them. And the chocolate dessert was perfect for sharing with its many types of chocolate types and flavors.
Possibly my 100th visit to Felidia over 30 years, I have dined again with friends and staff at this great upper east side classic of italian cuisine. The menu is always fresh and invigorating, curated by the exec chef Fortunato Nicastro. The team is superb. Allow Furtunato to cook for you and do not order. You will be elated at the end of the evening.
A great spot for New Year’s Eve!
Been to Felidia several times. The food is always well prepared and served efficiently. Wish it would give more green choices on salads and sides. We also wish that they r more accommodating to customers who prefer to split the bill and pay separately . New York City is full of non-corporate sponsored foodies who enjoy elegant dining. The restaurant should not expect one person to pay for the total bill as the customers requested, and not to make it difficult in order to suit its own convenience! This is discrimination towards non corporate individual foodies. We met Lidia on several occasions. She always presented a genuine friendliness towards people who appreciates her food. I am sure this is not Lidia’s policy towards bill splitting!
Terrific food served with great personal care. Loved it, would return. Catalina at the bar was particularly welcoming and helpful.
Wonderful experience at Felidia the other night! We had spent the day in the city doing touristy things and went to the restaurant early for a drink. We were welcomed warmly at the bar. Our table was ready shortly after and the staff was extremely nice to our 7 year old daughter. We had the beef carpaccio and chicken livers appetizers and both were phenomenal. I had a special with pasta and lobster and my husband had the pear and pecorino ravioli. Amazing! We loved the fresh pasta and inventive sauces. They made fresh spaghetti with pomodoro sauce especially for our daughter (it’s not on the menu) and we really appreciated that. We will certainly return. It was a very special evening!
Both my polpo and my wife’s tonno appetizers were great. My lobster/pasta special was great. My wife’s veal tenderloin not so much. Lacked flavor. Service was terrific.
Everything was spectacular the food, service and wine. Hands down, still one of the best in NYC.
One of the best meals we have ever had!
Awesome place. Third time dining here on three separate trips to NYC. Never been let down. All those dining with me agree.
Wonderful food. Excellent service from everyone especially Raúl.
I have been there many times and I always come back for the food and the service. I feel welcomed and very comfortable
The waitstaff (Louis) in particular was Superb! Food was memorable and would gladly re order the pastas and apps. The grilled seafood was ok -not great. Same for the Tuna. Unfortunately there was a diner at a nearby table who didn’t know the term “indoor voice “ and was distracting. Manager refused to address it. Waiters tried to no avail.
Quality food and service.
We were there Christmas eve and had the feast of the 7 fishes.
Food and service were very good and some of the food outstanding.
The restaurant was very busy, crowded and noisy if you sat next to a large party.
We celebrated our first married Christmas together We had the feast of fishes and it was chef choice I was very impressed I enjoyed every one of my 7 courses and I’m so picky :) .. service is impeccable and our waiter was awesome.....
My wife and I made a dinner reservation for Christmas Eve as soon as we booked our trip to NYC for Christmas. We arrived a few minutes early but were immediately seated and wonderfully accommodated for the duration of our meal, which was amazing! We ordered several things a la carte, including the shrimp salad, octopus salad, sea bass and quail. We also split one of the truffle pastas. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection! It was a truly decadent, enjoyable experience!
Food is delicious and the ambiance great. Service started out ok but by the second course it was clear they forgot us and the main course arrived cold. Took a while to get it rectified but once they did it was excellent and they gave us an appropriate break on the bill. Still a most enjoyable restaurant and experience. We will return.
Fabulous as usual - never a disappointment and always an amazing experience - we did the seven course fish tasting menu for the holidays - one course more delicious than the next - the chef so creative - sooo much food - we were in heaven - highly recommend this unbelievable restaurant
I would have ranked this lower, but the food was great. I think if you aren’t from NYC the servers think you arrived on a turnip truck. Dismissive and condescending. Nonetheless, the food was very good. Just wish the servers had better attitudes.
Upstairs is much louder than downstairs. Food was excellent but service was slow although that my have been due to the holidays and greater crowds than normal. The boar ragu is excellent.
This is a special restaurant to us for an annual holiday lunch with friends. The menu is excellent and the service is too.
First time here in years and Felidia has only improved. Fine food, impeccable service by personable folks, comfortable atmosphere, and a top-notched dining experience. Looking forward to a return visit soon.
Had a fabulous meal last night. The previous time I was there I thought it had gotten a little tired, but Felidia is back. Wonderful menu choices and delightful service and lovely extras.
