Superb food and service. One of New York’s most special Italian restaurants.

An incredibly hospitable experience: bartenders, hosts, waiters, servers, etc. There was a wait, but the staff was so accommodating, it didn't matter. The food was sensational, the chef visited the table and was charming (as were the waiters and servers). All in all, this was a great experience... a bit loud... but it is a happening spot and that's what happens. The tables were not too close together and the food (again) was exceptional.

I have been to Lydia's place n the past and never been disappointed in the food. It was awesome! I will say that the menu is limited and there were not enough pasta dishes on the menu, nor did we know there were any other selections of salad to choose from unless we asked, same for appetizers. In addition, the sommelier came over to assist us in choosing some wine and endeavored to sell us a $750.00 bottle of wine which was utterly ridiculous.

Yes we realize Lydia's is in Manhattan and a little more upscale but it did not feel like the family restaurant for average American that want a good Italian meal.

Great dinner but very pretentious.

I have been to Felidia many times in the past and I have always enjoyed the experience with great food and good service; however, this time I was very disappointed with both the service and food. The maître d’ was very arrogant and our waiters were slow. The food portions were small in comparison from the past but the price went up. I had to pay an extra $10 for my main entree for my Italian dinner special even though in the past I did not have to pay and the menu did not even specify. But when the entrée came, the portion size was so much smaller and it’s not worth paying the extra $10 for it.

We can count on consistent quality, service, excellent food and great wine list with every dining experience. The sommelier is always willing to dialogue about wine options, listening to our ideas but offering new surprises that give us the opportunity to learn new pairings and maybe a new grape variety. Familiar tastes yet new surprises and twists delight the taste buds with each bite. Thanks very much!

Food and service were phenomenal! A most enjoyable meal. We had a little bit of a time constraint, we were seeing a show at 7, but they accommodated us without any problem. Definitely a splurge for us, but well worth it!

The reviews of this place are excellent and so we were very excited to eat here during a recent trip to NYC. However, it was a major disappointment. The bright spot was the pear and gorgonzola ravioli appetizer, which was very good. But things went downhill from there. Our main courses were barely lukewarm and were uninspired. My son's pasta was overcooked and served in a tomato sauce that tasted like it was right out of a jar from the supermarket. Not to mention the fact that this place is very expensive. Service was good and the place is beautiful. However, as fas as Italian food goes in Manhattan, there are a ton of way better options.

The food at Felidia is delicious, I have no complaints about it. It’s also a comfortable and cozy space. It’s expensive though, and for the high price of a meal I expect the service to be outstanding and tonight it was not. We had the pre fix which came with a dessert tasting. It was lovely to have several plates of small desserts brought to the table, however the waiter did a quick exit and did not explain what we were served. Obviously we figured it out, and it was delicious. But the tables around us were given the privilege of a full explanation of the treats. We also were not asked if we wanted coffee or espresso or something, and it was a very long wait for the check. I felt like we were forgotten upstairs, which is unfortunately because I really like the food. I don’t know if I’ll go back, if I’m going to lay down $500 for a meal the service should be equal to that.

Everything was fabulous. Our family is a huge fan of Lidia's and being in NY for a few days, I made a reservation for a good friend of ours and me and it was delightful. Food, ambiance, wait team, wine - everything was perfect! To top it off, Lidia was there so the evening was perfect.

My husband and I have an annual tradition of going out on Christmas Eve for the feast of the seven fishes. This was hands down the best of the feasts we’ve ever had. On the subway ride home I was literally considering sending a thank you note to the sommelier because he knocked it out of the park with the wine pairing. The space is really cozy and has a townhouse/country club vibe of intimacy. Absolutely fabulous dining experience.

I was very disappointed. We went for the feast of the 7 fishes on Christmas Eve. it was rushed and chaotic. They threw 4 courses on the table at once. The plates could barely fit. It was almost impossible to get anyone's attention to order a drink or ask a question. The food was ok....not great.
Maybe it's better to go on a regular evening but I doubt I would go back

We always look forward to Christmas Eve at Felidia. We have made this an annual event to take advantage of the special Feast of the Seven Fishes dinner. The regular a la carte menu is available as well. However, we enjoyed this tradition at Felidia in the past and this year's repeat performance was just as great. The courses are at the choice of the chef. I cannot give each course its due but suffice it to say that each was different enough and good enough to discuss and rave about while we waited for the next course to arrive. The first few courses seemed to come out somewhat quickly so we notified our captain to slow things down a bit. He did and this enabled us to better enjoy our wine selections and all the following courses. Our conversations with our captain and sommelier between courses made the whole experience more personable and pleasant. I should also mention the service by our server and busser was excellent too. The price of this one special evening is not cheap but it is a special evening and I suggest it should be experienced at least once.

The food and setting were excellent. We were there for Christmas Eve and had the 5 fishes menu.
The only complaint is that we didn't see much of our waiter but it seemed we had a different person each time serving a course and someone else removing Don't think we ever saw a sommelier. The service was fine but very impersonal.

Fantastic house made pear pecorino pasta. Veal tenderloin with truffles (a first for me) superb. Delicious array of Christmas panettone and cookies as a lagniappe at the end. We traveled to New York from Australia to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. After much deliberating we chose Felidia for our anniversary dinner on the 19th December. We could not have made a better choice - we had a really lovely night.
The food was excellent, the staff attentive but not overly so, and the sommelier professional and very helpful. We had the best table in the house - upstairs with a view of the street and no one else in the room. We were made to feel very special and really appreciated the extra efforts by staff including dessert with candles and a card.
Highly recommend.

FELIDIA'S is our favorite NYC restaurant ! We live in CT and come to NYC several times throughout the year and on all special occasions, we dine here.
FELIDIA'S is always included in our holiday celebration in NYC after the Radio City Christmas show. The food is the best Italian anywhere in the US- and the tuxedoed staff is warm and friendly and professional and treat us like royalty. I am in the hospitality industry and recognize and acknowledge fabulous food and service when I experience it- kudos to Lidia Bastianich and her incredible crew of culinary experts!
Merry Christmas!

Excellent food and service. We had a 10:30 reservation for post-show dinner and even though we were one of the last tables of the night we had impeccible service throughout. We did the traditional Italian multi-course meal which takes a bit more time, but we did not feel at all rushed. As expected from a Lidia restaurant pastas were unique and delicious. Excellent wine list. Great for a special occasion dinner

Let me start out by saying that our family has been enjoying dining at Felidia for years.
Having said that, we made a reservation for this Saturday, December 16 at 9:00 PM for our family. The restaurant called to re-confirm during the afternoon which we acknowledged.

Our son and daughter walked into your restaurant at 9:14 PM and was rudely informed that the table was given away. We were about three minutes away and spoke by phone to the person at at the front desk. He said the 15 minutes grace period was gone and the table was given away.

Let me state that in over 40 years living in Manhattan, this is the very first time this has happened to us. We dine out between 5-6 times a week.

We walked in shortly after and asked again if we could have our table. The man at the front desk (a stubby, short, unsophisticated bus boy type person in a cheap looking light grey jacket) wouldn't even look at us and did not respond other than mumbling a few words. He knew he gave the table away in error, but instead of accommodating us somehow, he was rude, impolite, unprofessional. An absolute disgrace to any business and unacceptable person. How an "institution" such as Felidia would employ someone like this is beyond us.

Reading other reviews, it appears that "rudeness" is the new chic @ Felidias. Good luck.

Best dining experience of my life - service was phenomenal, we were catered to and given the red carpet treatment. Food was over the top amazing. This is an expensive restaurant - but, for a special occasion - you can't go wrong.

We did the 6 course tasting menu - where each course consisted of a generous sized portions. We couldn't even finish our meal because there was so much food - and our group loves to eat!

So much attention to detail - every item was delicious - including the bread for the table and the spread that it came with.

We are a group of friends who meets up for a special weekend trip in NYC during the holiday season. We plan to go to this restaurant every year during the xmas season from now on.

It was heavenly :-)
